Chereads / Transmigrated To Destroy Worlds With A System / Chapter 3 - The City Of Hesselton

Chapter 3 - The City Of Hesselton

Aleks successfully raced against time to the lake that was in the middle of the valley.

The sun had yet to rise but Aleks was able to get rid of the dry mouth he was enduring.

The problem now was, how is he going to keep the water?

He didn't need to think about food for a while because he was able to keep the corpses of the three red-tailed foxes bound to him with woven tree bark.

Aleks sighed: "System, do you have any ideas on how I can fix my issue here with the water?"

*Ding!

[User has posed a question;

Would you like to redeem an answer with the remaining Darnma stored?]

Aleks dropped his shoulders in defeat: "yeah sure."

*Ding!

[It is recommended to skin the red-tailed fox's stomach and use it as a water container.]

"Alright, well, that is actually a smart idea."

Aleks looked for jagged rocks, sharpened them by grinding and cut open one of the red-tailed foxes to collect the stomach and wash it.

He did what was recommended and covered his basis for water and food.

He could officially make his way to the 'local' city.

The valley he was currently in marked the first quarter of his journey, it was good that he took care of his necessities early on.

Otherwise he would find himself in danger.

All this time he had not yet walked off the dirt path, so it seemed to him that this journey was often taken by the farmers when they needed to take care of business.

Perhaps building materials or perhaps wine for the tavern!

All sorts of ideas popped in Alek's mind.

He had a long way to go before he reached the city.

The journey was full of plains, mountains, and finally the long stretch of farm lands that lead to the city walls!

It took Aleks six days, sparingly looking over the map and his rations of water and food.

He realized that if he didn't listen to the system at this time he would have never made it.

This was the first time that the system saved his life in a variety of ways.

He made it to the city of Hessleton!

[User Completed the Quest: Journey to Which City?]

[Please wait as your rewards are being processed.]

Aleks looked at the blue window and smirked: "Cool."

Internally he was much more excited.

[Please note the aptitude for magic has been awakened]

Aleks closed his eyes and searched his body, but besides the heavy and dirty clothes he was wearing, he didn't notice anything different.

"Alright I'll trust the system this time and continue with the test…"

Aleks looked up towards the city and noticed that the walls reached the sky.

The city of Hesselton was exceedingly large.

The gate to go inside was no different!

Although it looked like a medieval Earth castle entrance, the size was not something it can be compared to!

Aleks stared with wide eyes and mouth open as he was only a few thousand feet from the city.

He heard a child's voice: "Look mommy, an idiot!"

The kid pointed at Aleks who looked completely out of place, when the mother of the child shielded his eyes and scampered away: "What did I say about drawing attention from creeps like that?!"

"Oh, I'm sorry mommy..." The child responded and dropped his shoulders.

The mother and child tread the dirt path that leads towards the city, it seemed like they were coming from the farm not too far from here.

Aleks shook his head to gather himself and followed suit.

The line to enter the city was long, but with due time, Aleks approached the guards in front of the entrance.

The guards wore loose clothing with sparing armor on the shoulders and breasts. They had mustaches that curved towards the ceiling and shoulders as wide as stadiums.

"Hold."

"What is your purpose for visiting?"

One of the guards mustered with a broad voice.

Aleks met his gaze and with a deep voice responded: "Magic."

The two guards looked up and down at Aleks and back at each other trying to conceal their laughter.

"Head towards the adventurers guild, Main Street, big shield at the front, can't miss it." The other guard with the same large mustache responded.

The guards stepped to the side to allow Aleks to walk through.

The city that was concealed behind the wooden gate was grandiose.

It could be seen as medieval, but to Aleks, he saw that lights flickered, flames spewed the sky, and birds flew from tower to tower!

This was a place of medieval magic!

Or so that's what Aleks thought.

As he entered and made his way towards the center following the same street he entered from, he saw the adventurers guild.

The building was as large as a skyscraper, the roof triangle and floating above the floor underneath.

A staircase was seen in the middle of the air.

In front of the floating ceiling was a large shield, one side blue and the other side white. In the middle was a coiling dragon that gazed forward.

Leading up to the adventurers guild was a grandiose staircase made of compact rocks.

On the sides of the staircase were street lamps, but instead of light bulbs, there was a small female figure flying around.

Aleks paid no mind to this minor detail.

[Quest Continuation:

Enter the magic society as a mage in the Academy of The Silver Thread.

Failure: Immediate termination of self

Success: Title: The Mage That Dreamed Big]

Aleks wasn't surprised at the pop-up of the blue window threatening to end his life, actually deep inside it made him a little happy.

The soft and innocent female voice that he remembered was sweet and it made him think of her, although he was only reading the words, he felt that it came from her.

He also realized that his life was constantly in danger of being taken, ever since he realized that he almost died a couple times on the journey here and that the blue window saved him, he didn't take it to heart.

He was too naive in not realizing he needed food and water, and the blue window saved him, so he thought that wherever this blue window was coming from had good intentions…

At least for himself, definitely didn't care about the red-tailed foxes, and if he actually survived.

When Aleks walked inside the adventurers guild there was a place for tables, and in the front there was a desk where a pretty and petite woman with black hair that flowed like a waterfall greeted him.

Her eyes were blue and her smile was deeply etched on her face.

She saw Aleks approach and hesitated at smiling and greeting him: "Uh… Hello good sir. Welcome to the adventurers guild of Hesselton. I am Miranda the receptionist. How can I help you?" She smiled so big that she used it to hide her bright blue eyes from looking at Aleks.

Aleks nodded: "Magic application."

Simple and to the point, that's the character that Aleks wanted to portray, but to the others, those simple and incomplete sentences made him look like an idiot.

Let's not talk about the tattered clothes, and the blood and grime that was covering his yellow-gold eyes.

Miranda nodded: "Yes, the Academy of The Silver Thread is inviting applicants to be tested at any nearby adventurers guild. As per the agreement, there will be no participation fees, but please note, rewards are based on performance."

Miranda sighed as she saw the ragged figure of Aleks: "Please wait here while I get an instructor to take you to perform the adequate tests and procedures."

Miranda the receptionist stood up straight and walked with her head up, her figure balanced, but her body curves bounced from left to right.

She was wearing loose but tight clothing in all the right places, akin to a summer dress, but had details of silver chains around her waist and silver anklets around her petite ankles.

Aleks nodded in satisfaction.

Miranda returned with a tall and elegant fellow.

He had a purple loose robe and dark black undershirt, he looked completely out of place since the woman looked exquisite but he looked like a noble!

"I see you are here to test yourself, we have no fee, nor any dress code, but that latter part has yet to be arranged." His voice was smooth and noble.

He looked elegant, instead of a mustache like the gate guard that curved towards the ceiling, he had a mustache that was natural, not too long nor not too short.

On top of his head was a comedic wizard hat that slumped towards the back, it was also purple with a side trim of black.

Miranda bowed and announced his presence: "This is sir Harry Worth. He will be conducting your test. Please follow him and listen to his instructions."

Miranda with the petite and curvy figure crossed Aleks and sat back down at the desk awaiting the next visitor.

Harry Worth waved his sleeve and turned around towards the back end of the adventurers guild.
