Jade's POV
My mom drove us back home, just like how we had gone to the place-- silent and tense.
I couldn't wait for her to get us home so I could just get out of her car and go curled up in my bed. I needed its comfort at that moment, badly.
Finally, she drove into the driveway and I heaved a sigh of relief, as I jumped out. I knew I wouldn't last a minute with her in that car, before yelling at her to drop me off. Tears were threatening to spill from my eyes, after she had reminded me of my father.
I knew shedding tears before her would make me seem like a weakling to her and knowing how cunning my mom could be, she wouldn't hesitate to use it against me.
"We are here! Young lady, remember we have an agreement, don't you?" My mom asked me, her voice cold and unflinching.
I couldn't find my voice, so I just nodded in response.
I sat on my bed, my mind a turbulent sea of emotions.
