A ghost of a smile curved on Ein's lips. He leaned forward slowly, his hand sliding into Adriel's hair like he'd done more than enough times in his head but never quite this close.
But just as their lips were about to meet, a gunshot rang out in the movie. Adriel flinched back, his eyes darting to the screen.
The lamp closest to him flickered, buzzing ominously.
Ein raised an eyebrow at the stuttering light bulb. "What's that? Your ghostly powers acting up?"
Adriel waved a hand defensively, nervous laughter escaping his lips. "I'm not a ghost anymore. It's just a coincidence."
He turned to the lamp and fumbled with the off switch. "This thing's too old," he muttered, his heart racing. "I should probably change it soon."
