As they went back inside, Adriel led Ein to the kitchen, flicking the light switch on by habit, except it didn't turn anything on this time. Ein suppressed a smirk but chose not to point it out.
Adriel was too busy rummaging through the drawers for a lighter. Stumbling across some matches, he opted for those and lit up a candle before setting it down in the middle of the dining table.
Ein glanced at the candle, then at the phone that still had the flashlight on.
"What do you need a candle for?" he asked, taking a seat by the table.
Adriel switched the flashlight off and sat across from Ein. "For light, of course. I should save my phone's battery. Who knows how long it will take for the power to come back?"
The warm glow of the small flame cast shadows over Adriel's face, accentuating his smirk. "Plus, it's more romantic this way."
Ein shook his head, a chuckle escaping him. "You're thinking about romance even now?"
