"Can't you see it?" Adriel pointed behind Ein, his voice sharp with fear.
"See what?" Ein's eyes darted around the dimly lit room, searching for anything out of place.
"It's right behind you!" Adriel lunged forward. He grabbed Ein's arm and yanking him away from the couch. "Move back!"
Still reeling from the sudden pull, Ein stumbled but instinctively positioned himself between Adriel and the perceived danger. "Can you just tell me what did you—"
But as Adriel held onto his hand, Ein saw it too—the shadow, dense and dark as obsidian, hovering ominously near the flickering lamp. It moved like ink spreading in water, slowly reaching out as if searching for something.
"...see," Ein finished, his voice dropping to a stunned whisper. The sight of the shadow sent an icy chill down his spine. "What the hell is that?"
