Kael, who had already planned on leaving the girl behind, turned around to see her being shoved aside by her kind and waited to see what she would do after hearing what people thought of her. He watched the girl standing all alone on the streets of Stormont as if she had lost her mind. Kael started walking back towards her, now standing in front of the princess.
"I swear... I'm not cursed, and thank you for always coming back to save me," Jacquelyn cried, taking two steps forward. She wrapped her tiny arms around Kael's waist and hugged him closely.
Kael didn't recoil; it was almost as if he had gotten used to the girl's random touch. He just stood there with her, listening as she cried her eyes out.
"How... am I even cursed?" Jacquelyn continued her venting session, her body shaking with tears.
