Jacquelyn prayed in her heart for a storm to come accompanied by a wave. And for it to do just one thing, blow this wicked, evil Vampire away from the surface of the earth. Forever.
"What have you done to me?" she asked, her blue eyes darting left and right, looking straight into Kael's own.
"Me?" Kael pointed at his chest innocently. "What did I do?"
Jacquelyn pointed at the paper used to wrap the meat bun. "You turned me into something I'm not!"
Kael moved his finger side to side. "Don't push the blame on me. You were the one who asked for food when you clearly knew you had no money. What were you expecting? Should I turn myself into your beggar?"
The Vampire King sighed, as if the sorrows of the world were on his shoulders, when in reality he was the one stressing the girl in front of him.
"You clearly knew what you were doing all along, being hungry with an empty pocket!" he defended.
