Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Episode 1, chapter 7

As Rey Reed Smith kept walking toward the kingpin, he could feel his anger increasing. He couldn't believe that such a thing still existed in the Middle Land, right under the control of a dread king. Rey gritted his teeth, and his eyes turned dark.

He had thought everyone in the Middle Land feared Sebastian. It was wrong. Not everyone feared him. If they did, such an attitude wouldn't exist in his territory without him being able to do anything. Rey presumed that he doesn't even know. Such a shame.

The Kingpin's men were the first to notice Rey approaching. They stepped forward to meet him halfway, but the kingpin himself raised a finger, stopping his men from rushing forward.

"Perhaps he will come for business." The man said, and his men relaxed.

Rey stood in front of the man. One could easily see the rage on his face. He was trying to stop himself from hitting the man first. He was an honorable man after all, and it would be bad to hurt a man first unless he had a reasonable excuse.

The kingpin crossed his legs, "How can I help you, Mr. Man?" He asked, his face hard as steel. "If it's women you want to look at, you've got to pay. It's one of the sacred rules in this tavern, and no one has broken it so far." The man boomed in a low voice.

Rey sneered back at the man, and he could feel his hatred rising. "Rule," he seethed.

Rey wondered how a tavern kingpin laid down rules and expected people to follow it. It's not as if he followed the king's rule himself. If he does, then he shouldn't be out here, trafficking women and drugging them.

"Stupid rule!" Rey scowled. "I don't follow rules from dirty men like you."

Before the man or any of his men could blink, Rey struck him in the esophagus with the heel of his palm. The man gasped, his eyes opening wide in shock, and then dropped to his knees while still clutching his throat. Rey elbowed him on the temple, forcing him to lie on the ground.

Seeing this, the guards attacked Rey. Two muscle men came forward first with a speed that surprised Rey because of their weight. At the same time, the men lunged forward, reaching out to kick Rey in the chest.

However, they did not realize who they were dealing with. Rey Reed Smith was faster than both of them. Despite their great speed, he saw them moving slowly. They were nothing compared to him. They were just another pawn in Sebastian's game. They might be trained, but they lack the skills to beat Rey.

Rey easily stepped aside for the both of them, and he grabbed the waist of one of them. He bent it back until the man fell flat on his back, followed by a jab at the back of the man's neck. Rey raised his hand and elbowed the second man in the throat, knocking the wind out of him.

Rey stepped forward and crushed the windpipe of the man on the floor, knocking him out for good. He could've felt pity for them. He could've shown them mercy, but he chose not to. They didn't deserve it. They chose the wrong path. They chose to follow the route to destruction, and Rey wasn't ready to pity them for that. They deserved it.

He wheeled around and headbutted another man who was charging from behind. The man stumbled backward, and Rey followed with a quick punch in the gut. As Rey's hand touched his gut, something else happened. Claws sprouted out of Rey's hand, ripping the man's throat. Blood flowed out, and Rey stepped back, looking shocked. The same goes for the rest of the men in the room. They were shocked, too.

Suddenly, different memories flash across Rey's head. Inside a dark room full of lockers, he saw himself fighting glued beings with red eyes. After that, he saw himself running in the woods, jumping amidst trees, and sliding across branches. Rey could see three beings with pale eyes coming behind him, each of them doing different things.

Rey saw himself fighting a huge creature with two large horns in a wood. The memory vanished, and another one replaced it. It's the memory of a beast with two large horns that have saliva dripping from his mouth. The vision disappeared too, and Rey saw himself fighting with men in black with a cross mark on their cheeks. Different memories kept flashing in his head, and he fought hard not to scream.

The memories kept flashing for a minute or two before they stopped. As soon as it stopped, Rey recovered quickly from the shock and pain of it. He dashed at the next man, and he was surprised by the speed with which he moved. It was like he vanished and appeared in front of the man. The man hadn't even blinked.

As Rey stood in front of the man, he suddenly had a crystal view of the veins on his neck. Rey felt his teeth growing longer, turning into a fang. He felt a great pang in his stomach, followed by a low growl. It's the growling of an animal.

The screaming of the chained women filled the room as the violence began and got heated. However, no one in the room spared them a glance.

The man in front of Rey turned around, trying to run away. He hadn't taken more than a step when Rey appeared in front of him and ripped his head away from his neck. Rey Reed Smith turned back and was welcomed with a plank. But it did not affect him.

Rey easily snatched the man who hit him with a plank and lifted him despite his weight. Rey snarled and threw him. The man went flying across the room before impaling his back against a shaft that was hung at the corner of the room. The man stopped moving; his eyes widened in terror, and blood oozed out of his mouth.

Rey looked around him, but he could see no one. He had killed all the wide men in the room without getting hit. It's awesome. Rey felt alive. He loves the fight and the thrilling blood. He felt thirsty, and it was taking all his might not to feed.

He took a deep breath and turned toward the direction of the kingpin. Rey appeared in front of him, raised him with one hand, and asked, "The locust bandits were here a few hours ago," Rey began. "Tell me where they went, and I might let you live."

"I'll tell you, but you're wasting your time." The man stammered. "The locust's bandits worked for a man named Savannah, and they left many hours ago. They will have reached their master's territory by now, and no soldier goes there and returns."

"Is that all?" Rey asked, and the man nodded. "Why did the soldier never return from Savannah's liar?"

"The man is like you. He was also a night-walking creature. He has his castle, which has never been breached." The man explained. "He's a powerful man, and he has an entire army reserve to do his bidding anytime. Any slaves that entered his castle never came out alive. He's a brute. He feeds on them."

Rey nodded to process the information. After a minute, he asked, "Where can I find Lord Savannah's castle?"

"His castle is located to the west of this town. Take the western gate of this city and go until the road goes no further. You will see his castle." The man described

Rey released him. "Thanks," he said, getting ready to leave.

He hasn't taken more than three steps when the man's voice stops him: "It's probably a waste of time. There's a possibility that he would be feasting on your friend's blood by now."

And that's it. Rey went berserk. He dashed at the man and decapitated his head with a single, clean swipe of his claw.

"Learn how to keep quiet next time," he murmured.

Rey dashed to all the women that were chained, broke the chain with his claw, and freed the women.

"Whatever or whoever you are," one of the women said as Rey turned to exit the room. "May Lord Rey bless you and renew your strength."
