Sonya
Opening my eyes the next morning felt like a herculean task and it took me a while to adjust to the bright light in my room coming from the sun. I could barely move my arms and legs, so I wriggled a little in bed, trying to get up. After some trials, I sat down and I felt some pain in my head due to how fast I sat down.
It took some seconds for the pain to go and when it did, I looked around in my bedroom in confusion. When did I get home ? Who brought me to my room ? The last thing I could vividly remember was a drinking game at Cammy's bachelorette party. How could I have forgotten all what happened after that ?
I tried to remember what happened after the drinking game but the memories were in sketches. I think I even slept when I was brought home, so that could mean one thing—Kelvin brought me home.
How is this of shock to me ? He did go to the party with me, so it made sense that he would bring me back safe and sound. But something didn't feel right. I tried to recall if something happened when I got home but the memories weren't clear at all. I looked around and saw my bag on the bed and for some reason, it triggered back some of the memories I couldn't recall.
Kelvin carried me to my quarters and then..... something happened.....before I knew it, we were kissing. Kissing ? How did I end up kissing Kelvin ? The image of Kelvin kissing made my cheeks flush and I held them for no reason. From what I remember, we both seemed to enjoy the moment, then all of a sudden, Kelvin drops me on the bed, together with my bag. That's what I could remember...
What's happening to me of late ? I no longer see Kelvin the way I did before. When I think of him, I smile without realising it and I always look forward to being together with him. The feeling is something similar to what I had with Raymond but it's better. Wait a moment.... this could only mean one thing—I'm in love!
"Olivia," I uttered after she picked my phone call. "Where are you right now ?"
"I'm on my way to the Golden City mall as usual, silly." she responded. "Are you there already ?"
"No," I answered. "I haven't even taken my bath yet. To be honest, I don't think I can go to church today."
"Wait, why ?" Olivia inquired. "Is it because of last night ? Are you still having a hangover ?"
"Yes of course. My head aches so badly and I feel very thirsty. Don't tell me you don't feel the same way."
"I also had similar experiences," Olivia chuckled. "But the pain has lessen since then. Listen, if you are still having your hangover, drink some water, eat and rest. I'll come to your place very soon, okay ?"
"Alright. No problem." I assured. "I can't wait for you to come cause I have something to tell you. I also need your opinion on the issue."
"Oh I'm curious already." Olivia laughed. "Can't wait to hear what you have to say. See you late in the afternoon, girl."
"See you too."
We hanged up and I watched the time. It was thirty minutes past ten. I had to regain my lost energy, so I got out of bed slowly and drank some water. I ordered for my breakfast and one of the house workers delivered it in my quarters. I tried my best to eat everything but I was left with a few morsels. I lost my appetite and couldn't eat the rest.
After eating, I had much energy in my system, so I went to my washroom to bath and freshen up my body. My bed was the next place I went to after bathing and that's how I fell asleep for the next few hours I spent in my room. The funny thing happened and that was a realistic daydream. I really had a dream when during my nap that late morning and the dream was about something I desired at the moment—Kelvin.
We were in a car together cuddling for some reason and we were just whispering sweet nothings to each other. He was dressed in a suit and I wore a majestic straight dress. It seemed we were on our way to a date that evening and I was very happy to be in his arms. He smelled so alluring and I couldn't get enough of him. Just as we were about to kiss, my phone's ringing woke me straight up. I got up, groaning and picked the call.
"Why are you calling ?"
"Chill girl, what happened ?" Olivia quizzed. "Did I do something wrong ?"
"Nevermind. Where are you ?"
"I'm just outside of your quarters," she answered. "That's why I called. It's locked."
I hanged up, groaned again and went over to open the door for her. We exchanged hugs and greetings, before sitting at my parlour to talk.
"So how are you feeling now ? Do you still have the headache ?" Olivia asked.
"It's okay now." I answered with a forced smile.
"So spill the beans," she ordered excitedly. "I can't wait to hear what this is about."
"You won't even wait for us to settle down first....."
"Start talking.... I'm waiting."
I sighed and looked at her sternly. After another deep breath, I mustered the courage to narrate everything I remembered and when I got to the kissing part, Olivia fell out of her sofa, laughing loudly and hysterically.
"What's wrong with you ?" I complained. "Do you want the whole house to hear you laughing or what ?"
"Give me a minute to stop..." Olivia said admist her laughter. She stopped momentarily and when she saw my face again, she burst out laughing again.
"Ahh how do you see this funny ?" I fumed.
Olivia took a while laughing and when she got tired, she stopped laughing loudly and got back to her seat. "I'm sorry for laughing so much. I know it's a serious issue but do you know what's funny ?"
"What ?"
"I expected this to happen one way or the other. It's like I saw this coming from a mile away."
"Olivia!" I exclaimed and she had another episode of laughter.
She stopped laughing and wiped her tears. "Forgive me girl, I just can't stop. So right now, how do you feel about the whole incident ? Did you enjoy it ? Did you hate it ? Are you going to report him ? Or you are going to blast him as I think you would ?"
"That's the thing," I blushed subconsciously. "I enjoyed it and I think I'm in love with him..."
Olivia stared at me in confusion. "What did you just say ?"
"I said I think I'm in love with him." I repeated.
"Wait, is this for real ?" Olivia's eyes widened. "Am I hearing things well ?"
"Why do you find this so hard to believe ?" I frowned in frustration. "I have feelings, you know. Kelvin is also an attractive guy and I just happened to fall for him all of a sudden..."
"All of a sudden ?" Olivia arched an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that ? Is it because he saved you twice ? Is that why you are attracted to him 'all of a sudden' ?"
"I don't know." I answered, suppressing my blush. "I don't know and I don't care. I just have this strong obsession about him and I can't control it."
"So what are you going to do now ? Have you seen him today ?"
"I haven't left my room today, so I have no idea where he is." I smiled. My smile changed to a worried look. "But I'm scared of meeting him again after the kiss we had last night."
Olivia chuckled. "You are still going to meet him anyways. For instance, tomorrow at work."
"That's the thing," I replied. "I'm not going to work tomorrow. I'm going to fake an illness..."

Spending the Sunday afternoon with Kelvin and his relatives at their place was a wonderful experience. As Kelvin and I got there, it turned out that they were cooking, so the both of us joined to help them cook. Initially, Kelvin's mom refused to allow me help them since I was a guest but after persistent pleading, she finally gave in. As we cooked together, we had small talks and I got to hear of Kelvin's adventures back when he was a kid. It was hilarious.
We had lunch afterwards when we were through with the cooking and we spoke further on the dining table. For the majority of the time we spoke on the dining table, we teased Kelvin and made some playful jokes about him. It was all fun and exciting. Kelvin's mom wasn't as bad as I thought and she really enjoyed my company. We cleaned up after eating and tidied up the place.
It seemed everyone ate to their satisfaction cause when we finished tidying up the place, we all relaxed in the living room and continued our interesting conversation. This time, the attention got shifted to me, thanks to Kelvin and I told some part of my life that I deemed funny enough to share. Hannah brought in some beverages later on and we drank them to our delight.
Kelvin and I spent much time at his mom's place, that we didn't realize we didn't realize how fast time was passing by. It was Hannah who reminded us of the time and we knew we had to go back. Our departure wasn't easy as Kelvin's mom wanted us to spend some more time with them but we had to go. We bidded them goodbye and got back in the car, in which the driver drove us back home safely.
Kelvin and I laughed in the car as we recalled what we did at his mom's place. We arrived at the main house minutes later and we walked in immediately. We got to my quarters and stood in front of my door.
"It has been such a great day," I commented. "I enjoyed it very much. What about you ?"
"The same as well, Lyla." Kelvin smiled. "It's good to see you had a good time."
"Yeah I did."
"It's been a long day," Kelvin said. "So you need to get some rest. I will see you tomorrow after work if I come early."
"Oh yeah, right..." I sighed. "Then I will see you tomorrow then. Have a good night."
"Have a wonderful night and sweet dreams. See you when I see you." Kelvin waved as he left me by the door.
I forgot about Kelvin's new job for a moment there. I thought I would still see him tomorrow but I guess not if he's still following Sonya around. I wish I could do something to help out but I know nothing.
I got in my room, undressed myself and prepared to sleep. I got in bed when I was done and surprisingly, I slept really fast. I really had a good sleep cause when I woke the next day, it was forty minutes past nine o'clock. Which is very odd cause I don't wake up this late. I got from bed and went through my morning daily routine. I wore baggy clothes when I was done and I decided to go downstairs to draw under the open hut near the pool. When I got there, I met Kelvin reading a book.
"What are you still doing here ?" I asked with a surprised face, mixed with smiles and confusion.
Kelvin smirked. "I thought you would be excited to see me here. I guess I was wrong."
"No no," I protested as I sat next to him. "I'm excited alright but I'm surprised as well."
"Don't mind me," he chuckled. "I was just pulling your leg."
"Not funny." I faked a frown.
"Alright. Let me tell you what happened." he nodded slowly. "What happened was your sister reported to your father that she was sick and can't go to work today, so I was given the day off today. Isn't that okay ?"
"More than okay." I quipped. "Finally, we can spend time together on a weekday. I actually had something in mind for some time now. Want to find out ?"
"I'm all ears."
"I booked us a reservation at the Santa Marino resort," I revealed. "But we never got the chance to go at all."
"Wait, when did you do that ?"
"On Saturday." I answered. "I wanted us to go that evening but you know, Sonya went to a party...."
"Oh yeah, sorry about that." Kelvin apologized. "So do you want to go there now ? Are you going to book us a reservation again ?"
"There's no need for that," I shrugged. "The restaurant at the resort has a reservation extension which is up to three days. So we can totally go there tonight since today's the last day."
"Alright. Then I'm up for it then."
We spent the morning time together talking and he even asked about my sketchbook. I didn't show him my drawings inside because there's one drawing I don't want him to see until I'm done. Fast forward to the evening, I dressed up immaculately and got in the car with Kelvin.
We got to the resort minutes later and we walked towards the restaurant I had booked. As expected, we were allowed inside and we got our own table to sit at. Tonight felt different because there weren't many people at the luxurious restaurant. I could only see at least four people around. A waiter came around and we gave in our orders.
"What a lovely evening." Kelvin complimented.
"Yes indeed." I agreed. "The environment is calm and peaceful unlike other times."
"You've been here before ?"
"Oh yeah, I have." I answered. "This place is normally occupied with all other rich people and trust me, it's not impressive at all."
"Who did you come here with ? Your brother or a friend ?" he asked.
"I came here with Sena." I responded. "We come here once in a while when we feel like it. Nothing special at all."
"At least you guys get to have a good time here." Kelvin laid back.
"That's what you think." I chuckled.
"I know it's strange to ask, but when are you graduating ? It seems I have forgotten."
"It's this Wednesday." I revealed. "It's going to be boring to me and I would love it if you came to the graduation."
"That's a problem," Kelvin replied. "Your sister's handing over is also on Wednesday. Which means I might not make it in time."
"Don't worry," I assured. "The handing over ceremony won't take for long, trust me. You will be able to make it."
"Alright. If you say so then."
Something crossed my mind and I voiced it out to Kelvin. "Kelvin, you still haven't told me how your mom was walking all of a sudden."
"Oh that ?" Kelvin smiled. "Well, it's kind of embarrassing but I think it's because she's excited."
"Excited ? How is that embarrassing ?"
"The thing is," he began. "She has never heard me talk about girls often and when she found out about you, she got excited thinking that.....you know....we are dating or something."
I blushed visibly and laughed softly. "Is that so ? Well, what do you think about it ?"
"What do I think ?" he rephrased. "To be honest, I don't think.... it's a bad idea."
I smiled so hard, my cheeks felt like they would fall off. I tried to keep my cool and play it safe. "What do you mean it's not a bad idea ? Are you trying to say—"
"Then let me come clear with this," Kelvin said.
At first, I didn't understand what he meant. Kelvin moved up from his seat and came over to mine and with one swift move, he kissed me passionately on the lips and somehow, my hands wrapped around his head as we shared this steamy, hot and intimate moment...
