Exelirus stood in front of a mirror in his new room, examining what he was current, a black top alongside a simple pair of jeans. He there reminiscing about the sequence of events that led to the situation he was currently in from the destruction of Kinerix to him being taken by H.O.P.E and finally him being taken to Daniela's home. The blue haired boy recalled how, after the commander had left Daniela had in cleaned and gave the clothes he was currently wearing.
Exelirus then placed his hands on the clothes he was currently wearing with a single thought racing through his head as he did, and that was, the clothes he was currently wearing, weren't his. The fabric of his clothes felt too soft on his skin, like be paper ready to tear apart at any moment, his body didn't feel free as he wore them in fact he felt restricted and wrong wearing them. Looking at himself in the mirror, he couldn't recognize himself as a Kinerixian, and the bitter fact that he was probably the last living Kinerixian in existence made seeing himself that way hurt in ways words fail to describe. Exelirus looked himself in the mirror thinking, this was the living Kinerixian and he didn't look like one. Exelirus then let out a deep sighed as he looked at the reflection of himself that served as a reminder of the death of the Kinerixian race.
Exelirus then heard Daniela's voice calling from the living room, yelling "Excell, Excell, Excell".
Exelirus couldn't help but inwardly cringe at the mention of that name Daniela insisted on calling him by, thinking that for to better fit on Earth it would be better for him to adopt a name that didn't sound alien. As if the name 'Bluey' wasn't enough, she insist on giving an Earth name that felt more like an insult to him. Exelirus was the name he recognized as his own, it was the name given to him by his parents, it was the name his people called him, not Bluey or Excell, just Exelirus and the fact that he had to change it just to fit made sick to his stomach.
"Excell", Exelirus heard the ear splitting sound of that name being uttered once more before deciding that it would be best if answered her calls just to put an end to her calling him by that insufferable name.
Exelirus then left the room, before saying, in an annoyed and aggressive tone, "What!!!!" startling Daniela a little by his outburst.
It took a minute for Exelirus to calm down but when he did was saw an impressive spread of what resembled a feast fit for ten thousand kings on the dining table.
"The Commander told me how you might have a bit of a high metabolism and considering how you haven't had anything to eat since you arrived on Earth well I…" Daniela spoke as she gestured to the spread on the dining table.
Exelirus then heard his stomach begin to rumble, reminding him that he had not had anything decent to eat in days. Exelirus then looked at the massive about of food on the table before taking in its aroma and then hearing the sound of his stomach rumble. Exelirus then sighed in defeat, before walking to the dinner table. Daniela seeing that Exelirus was now seated on the table, couldn't help but smile with delight, knowing that there was not a soul alive that could resist her cooking.
Exelirus remained said on the table, waiting to served his meal by Daniela, then, in the blink of an eye, faint blur zoomed pasted him. Exelirus then looked down at the table before him and saw many dishes placed before him. He then turned to his side to see Daniela smiling sheepishly, eagerly waiting for him to have a taste of her food. Exelirus upon seeing the eager look in her face, just let out a sigh before grabbing the spoon and having a taste of her food. Daniela watched an intense gaze as Exelirus took the first bite of her food, eager to see his reaction upon having to tasted finest of foods Earth had to offer, prepared skillful by none other than her. But however, her hope of getting to shocked and astonished reaction from Exelirus upon tasting her food were quickly dashed as the blue haired boy chewed and the proceeded to swallow the food giving form of said reaction. Instead the boy face had a dull, unimpressed but predictable expression on his, almost as though he expected the food to be bad.
Exelirus, honestly had no high expectations of the meal before him, recalling how the traditional food in Kinerix were more intense of with sweet flavors as meals high in sugar made up a large portion of his people's diet and as a result to the intensely sweetened meals he was used to on Kinerix, the food presented him tasted bland on his alien tasted buds which were used to something much more sweeter and more intense in flavor a fact which he conveyed through the unimpressed look on his face. Exelirus then let out a deep sigh, thinking that it was at least better than what he to eat during the last days of Kinerix, remembering how he and his brother had to roam about through the desolate waste lands foraging for whatever scraps or morsel of food they could find, during that time food with any taste that was completely bitter or outright disgusting was hard to come by, so at the very least, even if the meal presented to him wasn't particularly tasty in his mouth, he was grateful that it was something he could put in his mouth with wanting to spit back out or throw up.
Exelirus continued, scoffing down dish after dish like a ravenous beast, noting that the meals weren't very appetizing or filling unlike the traditional meal he was accustomed to on Kinex which was why he had to so much of it to satisfy the immense hunger that was created of him going day on end without any form of descent food. Daniela watched at the blue hair boy expect eating and eating with no sigh of stopping anytime soon, it was almost as though there was a black hole in the pit of his stomach sucking up all the food. Daniela then recalled all the shocked look on people's face whenever they saw scoff down an elephant size meal in seconds and then, while still watching as Exelirus continued to stuff his face, was able to understand the reason for their shocked expression.
Exelirus expect eating and eating, almost having finishing all the dishes there, except one. It was a massive covered head to toe with chocolate frosting and whipped cream. Exelirus had never seen any dish like that in his life. Daniela, seeing the shocked look of Exelirus's face upon seeing the cake couldn't help but smile proudly, thinking about how that was a favorite desert, a double layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing and whipped cream, baked using her very own recipe with double the about of sugar than a regular cake. She baked it want to give the Blue haired treat believing that the taste would surely impress Exelirus. Daniela was about to go to the kitchen to grab a knife to cut the cake. While she was gone, Exelirus looked at the cake with curious eyes, before stretch out his hand towards and wiping off a bit of the chocolate frosting on his finger before putting it in his mouth to taste. Upon tasting the sweet chocolate favor of the cake, Exelirus eyes began to tear up as the flavor was similar to a certain Kinerixian dish, dark brown bitter soup.
The dish was by no means Exelirus's favorite and would often complain to his mother whenever she made as it was, at least when compared to other Kinerixian dishes, one of the most bitter dishes. Tears then began to well up in Exelirus's face as memories of all his tantrums of not wanting to eat something so bitter before his mother, would a stern and terrifying look on her face would command him eat his meal and stop complaining. Exelirus then looked at the cake with tears still on his eyes before a smile slowly began to form on his face. To think, the closest thing to Kinerixian food he could find on the blue planet tasted like the one dish he would always through tantrums to his mother for cooking, the irony on it made the little blue haired boy let out a faint chuckle while nodding his head before beginning to proceed to stuff the entire cake in to his mouth with his bare hands. It may not be the most delightful thing he had ever tasted, but it tasted like home and that was enough.
Daniela made her way out of the kitchen and back in to the dining room only to see that the cake was gone and Exelirus was seated on the dining table with a face covered with chocolate frosting while licking what was left off the cake on his hand. Daniela upon seeing that in the time it took her to go the kitchen, grab a knife and come back to the dining table Exelirus had managed to completely devour the entire caked at the blue hair boy with a look of shock that slowly turned to an impressed look with her muttering to herself internally, saying, "Damn this kid is fast".
Daniela then went to Exelirus, dropping the knife and then grabbed a napkin.
"Seriously kid did you rub the entire cake on you face", said Daniela before she grabbed hold of Exelirus's chocolate frosting covered face.
"Hold still will you", Daniela said before she began to clean his face with the napkin.
"Dear, now your face doesn't look like a choco puff", Daniela said as she finished cleaning Exelirus's face before playfully pinching the side of his cheeks, a gesture which greatly annoyed Exelirus.
"So you're a sweet tooth huh. Well at least now I have an excuse to buy more sweets" said Daniela jokingly with a playful smile on her face.
After the meal, Daniela thought it would best to begin to get Exelirus accustomed to Earth, its people and culture, and she couldn't think of any better way that television. Exelirus simple watched the rectangle device mounted on the living room wall with a dull and uninterested look on his while Daniela flipped through the channels with the remote, desperately looking for something the blue haired alien find the least bit interest no matter how many channels she flipped through the boy still wore the same dull uninterested expression on his face.
"Oh come on, are seriously telling that out of a thousand freaking channels, you didn't find a single thing worth watching" asked Daniela in frustrating as she let go of the remote in defeat while Exelirus still wore the same dull uninterested look on his face.
"A kid who doesn't like TV, you really are an alien" said Daniela with a deep sigh as she wondered to herself what on earth was she going to do with that blue haired boy as it seemed like there was nothing on the surface on the blue planet that blue haired found the least bit interesting, well except chocolate cake but then again there didn't exist a soul alive that could resist that.
Daniela was brought out of her chain of thought by the sound of the watch on her wrist beeping. Daniela then looked at the watch before letting out a deep sigh.
"Hey kid", Daniela called for Exelirus's attention.
Exelirus then turned to her, wondering why she was calling. Daniela then threw the remote to him which he could relative ease.
"I'm heading out, you can continue to flip through the channels. Hopeful there's something out there that'd catch your interest", said Daniela.
"Where are you going?" asked Exelirus.
"To punch, kick, and quite possibly break a few bones", said Daniela as she began to stretching. Exelirus just watch her with a look of confusing, wondering what she meant by those words.
"Men my body feels stiff", said Daniela as she finished her stretches, a small crack then escaped with her loosening up a bit as she stretched.
"There, much better. Oh, before I forget, if you get hungry, help yourself to whatever you find in the fridge, okay bye" Daniela spoke before blitzing away as lightning speeds, leaving Exelirus staring blanking at the stop where she once stood wondering what exactly a fridge was.
