High up in the sky, hovering over the entire world was a flying island, and on that island stood none other than the secret base of the H.O.P.E, the Heroic Organization of Protectors of Earth, an organization created to protect earth from ever and all threats.
A massive high tech black jet made it way to the island, approaching the H.O.P.E base and as it did so, the base's hanger doors opened up, allowing the jet to fly in to the base and land safely.
Once the jet was grounded on the metallic floor of the base, its doors opened up, and then a woman, wearing black latex suit with red stripes on its sides and a symbol of what resemble a red shooting star on the center of her chest, wearing a mask with a similar black and red striped design on her suit, carrying an unconscious boy with blue hair.
A group of H.O.P.E agents then made their way to her.
"Agent Speed Star, the Commander is waiting for you", said one of the agents causing the woman to sigh before handing over the boy she was carrying to one of agents.
"He's hurt, get him to the medical bay and be careful with him", said the woman before racing off at blinding speeds living the agents to care for the boy.
Meanwhile, in the Commander's office, a man seated on his desk, watching from his holographic screen the footage from when Exelirus had first crashed in to Earth.
The man's left had was robotic and mechanical, having lost his arm a long time, he watched the footage with a worried and concern look in his eyes as he saw how Exelirus wreaked havoc and chaos on the streets as he crashed on Earth before continue racing mindlessly through the streets and then released a massive energy pulse and caused a city wide black out.
Then, with a massive burst of wind, a black and red blur came racing into the office.
"You asked to see me commander" asked the woman as she raced in to the running at supersonic speeds.
"Did you get the kid?" asked the commander with his gaze still fixed on his screen.
"Yeah I did but I didn't need to do much though , the kid was already out cold just as I arrived" said the woman.
"Hmmm", said the commander as he pressed a button on his desk, turning off his holographic screen before turning to the woman.
The woman upon seeing the look on the man's face just sighed before saying, "Oh, no I know that. Don't tell me you worried about a kid"
"He caused entire city wide black out just by running. If his legs hadn't given out when they did, he might have destroyed the entire city" said the commander.
"Come on, destroy an entire city. Aren't you over reacting just a little" said the woman.
"Didn't you see the level of damage he caused just by taking a few steps. He literally caused an entire city to blackout just by running and city wide panic. I can already see the immense paper work and property damage I'm going to have to deal with afterwards", said the commander out of frustration while placing his fingers on the bridge of his nose.
"He's a freaking kid; he probably didn't even know what he was doing", the woman said defensive ly.
"Even if he didn't know what he was doing that doesn't change the fact that he's dangerous. And on top of that he literally fell from the freaking sky, god only knows from where" said the commander.
"So what are you planning on doing with him, lock him up and throw away the key", asked the woman.
The commander upon hearing what the woman said and feeling the intense glare that penetrating through her mask and focused straight on him just sighed before saying, "He's a threat Daniela".
"He's also a kid", the woman spoke with fury in her voice.
"Captain Indomitable" the commander spoke in serious and cold tone.
The woman upon hearing the name the escaped the commander crushed her fist in anger and frustration.
"That's not fair, he's just a…" the woman was cut off mid sentence by the commander saying, "Kid, you've already used that line before".
"Well that's what he is, a scared and frightened kid in an unknown world", said the woman.
"You think I don't know that? *Sigh*, Daniela, I'm not so cruel that would enjoy doing something a wicked as locking up a child but you saw what he did to Hilltop", said the commander.
The woman upon hearing what the commander gave no reply, knowing he had a point, recalling the level of devastation and destruction the created just by running and yet…Her mind flashed back the moment she found Exelirus lying on ground unconscious. He looked so innocent and peaceful, just like any other kid. Seeing that way, it was hard to imagine him as anything more than just a lost and scared kid who just needed help.
"Project Integration", the woman spoke softly but still audible enough for the commander to hear.
"What did you just say?" said the commander taken aback a bit by her words.
"Project Integration", said the woman.
The commander upon hearing the woman say it once more sighed before saying, "Project Integration, last time I checked Project Integration was only meant for Demihumans not alien, especially not ones that possess a big of a threat as him".
"Come on Commander, can't you just make an exception this once", said woman.
"And risk another Captain Indomitable on the world. The sky will fall and hell will grow cold before I ever think of doing it", said the Command.
The woman, seeing that nothing she said was getting through to the commander let out a sigh before saying, "What if I looked after the kid"
"What?" the commander gasped, not expecting her response.
"You? But Daniela you're not really much of a people person. For goodness sake you live in the middle of a forest at the outskirts of the city just to avoid them", said the commander.
The woman then let out a deep sigh before saying, "I know but I'm also a hero and I just can't sit idly by and watch you lock up an innocent kid".
The commander then let out a deep sigh before asking, "Are you sure about this?"
The woman then let out a breath before taking off her mask, revealing her short brown hair and scarlet eyes, allowing him to see the serious and sure look on her face before saying, "Yes I am".
The commander upon hearing her reply paused for a moment before smiling and nodding his head.
"Alright", said the command.
"Just like", said the woman shocked at how easy it was to convince him especially after knowing just how stubborn he was.
"He's just a kid after all and I don't need the weight of locking up a kid weighing on my conscience even if he wrecked an entire city. Besides, if he does end up being a threat he would be your problem to deal with which means less paperwork for me", said the commander.
Daniela, upon hearing just smiled at him before saying, "Thank you", and putting her mask back on.
The commander smiled before saying, "Who knows, maybe this will end up benefiting the world and maybe they may be one day the world will have a second mask wearing hero what can run past the speed of sound".
The woman upon hearing what the commander said just sighed before saying, "Not everyone is meant wear a mask Commander", before put her mask back on and dashing out off the room in a blur of black and red.
The commander just smirked before pressing a button on his desk.
His holographic screen then appeared but this time a man wearing a white suit was on the screen.
"Is it done", asked the man as fiddled with a ring that had green crystal on it.
"Yes, just like you predicted. She willingly accepted to take care of the child", said the commander.
"Good" said the man.
"Sir, may I ask why you wanted Daniela in particular to be the one to be responsible for the child", asked the commander, curious to know why he wanted Daniela in particular to be the one to raise the child.
"Simple, she and the boy share a lot of things in common beyond their similarities in powers and abilities. Like her young Exelirus has lost a lot, his family, his people and his home. He has nothing left but the aching pain from the loss of everything he had. He's in a very dark place, a void where only misery and despair exist, and only Daniela can help him come out of it because she's been there before. And like you said , the world can never have too many heroes" said the man.
Daniela raced through the base, moving at supersonic speeds, arriving at the med bay where Exelirus laid unconscious on a medical bed, hooked up to machines, monitors and senses that monitored his vitals to make sure he wasn't too badly hurt.
"How is he" she asked one of the medics monitoring Exelirus's condition.
"Stable for now. The reason he collapsed was because he pushed it's body to its absolute limit, to the point where it could no longer keep up with levels of energy h e generated as he ran resulting his body to begin to burn up and tear itself apart on a cellular level" , said the medic.
"Is the kid going to be alright", asked the woman.
"He'll live, luckily like most speedster; he possesses incredible healing and regenerative abilities. They seem to be enough to keep him alive but it seems as though the damage taken to his body took quite the toile on him. I'm not entirely sure if his enhanced healing would be enough to prevent any permanent damage to him" said the medic.
The monitors that were hooked up to Exelirus then began to beeping loudly, indicating that something was wrong.
"What's going on?" asked Daniela, her worry and concern for the child evident in her voice as she spoke.
"I'm not entirely sure, his heart rate is spike, beating at unprecedented level of speeds" sad the medic as he and the other medics immediately began to take action, trying to find out what was wrong with Exelirus.
"He's a speedster, shouldn't an increased heart beat be normal?" asked the woman.
"Maybe a few thousand times per second but definitely not a few million. It's moving so fast that our monitors can barely pick it up" said the medic as he continued to work alongside his colleagues to try and figure out what was wrong with Exelirus.
Meanwhile, Exelirus, in his unconscious state began to relive, over and over again, seemingly in an end loop, the destruction of his home, family, and people in the hands of the Sabraxian. It was pure and utter torture for the young blue haired boy as he found himself reliving scenes from his grim past, scenes of his parent's death, the fear he felt pulsing through his body as he, along with his brother, dashed through the waste lands of their then desolate home world, ravaged and torn apart by the monsters known as the Sabraxians.
But amidst all the chaos and overwhelming fear he felt flowing through his body as he was forced to relive the absolute worst moments of his existence, a familiar voice echoed in his ear, repeating the final words of his late brother, "Promise me you'll survive".
Exelirus upon hearing those words spoken, felt a jolt of power and energy flow through his body. Blue sparks then began to form all over his body as kinetrix energy flowed through him before his eyes burst open, his body then released as massive surge of kinetrix energy in an intense blue explosion, sending the medics that were around Exelirus flying before they even realized what was going on.
Daniela, even with her incredible speed, only managed to barely move out of the way and narrowly avoid the explosion before dashing off to the medics who were currently busy lying on floor due to the force of the explosion.
"Are you okay?" Daniela asked one of the medics as she helped him up.
"I don't get paid enough for this" the medic weakly remarked as he was slowly help up by Daniela.
Daniela was about to go help the others but before she could, she heard the sounds of foot steps echoing through the smoke created by the explosion.
Daniela then shifted her gaze to the source of the sound with a worried and fearful expression on her face.
The smoke then began to clear away and dispersed, revealing none other than Exelirus standing on his two feet, his body cracking and sparking with sparks of blue kinetrix energy trickling through it.
