Daniela sped in to the commander's room, moving so fast that to the naked eye she was nothing more than a blur.
"Would it kill you to knock" said the commander with his eyes not even shifting to glance at Daniela as they were firmly fixed on the holographic screen in front of him.
"What are you looking at?" asked Daniela curious to know what had captured the commander's attention.
"See this" the commander point at the image displayed on screen, it seemed to be an image of space with scattered pieces of asteroids flowing about seemly aimlessly.
"Yeah, it's space with a bunch of flowing rocks" said Daniela.
"Yeah, except those aren't rocks. There are what's left of a planet" said the commander, greatly shocking Daniela.
"I was curious about our little boy blue so I may a few calls to the Intergalactic Peace Keepers and well, they told me about a planet filled with people with colorful hair with the ability to run beyond mach2 for a leisurely stroll. And when I asked to see the planet for myself, they sent me this" said the commander.
Daniela upon hearing what the commander said looked back at the screen this time with a look of dread and horror with an image of sad and pained looked on Exelirus's face she saw when she went to check on him, knowing understanding how deep of a wound was inflicted on the poor blue haired child and just how much it must hurt.
"Yeah, that's the same look I had on my face too but this isn't even the scariest part" said the commander.
"Really, an entire planet blowing up, what unearth could be scarier than that?" asked Daniela failing to understand what could be more horrifying than seeing an entire world that was once home to millions if not billions of people, now reduced to nothing but massive chucks rocks flowing about aimlessly in empty space.
"How about the fact this happen very, very recently" said the commander.
"What?" asked Daniela shocked upon hearing what the commander just said.
"You heard me, the I.N.G.P.K didn't even know that Kinerix was blown up till I told them about our little blue haired guest. They estimate that it hasn't even been up to a day since Kinerix met her demise" said the commander.
Daniela upon hearing what the commander remained silent, thinking for a moment before opening her mouth to speak, saying, "Just how far is Kinerix".
To which the commander gave a stern reply, "Far enough that even with a ship moving at light speed, it would take at the very least ten years to make it to our solar system and then about a day to make it to Earth".
Daniela upon hearing what the commander just sighed out of shock and astonishment at the fact that not only did Exelirus travel all the way from Kinerix to Earth, moving at speeds why beyond anything she could imagine but he also survived the trip and still had enough strength left to wreck a city.
"That's one hell of a kid" was all Daniela could bring herself to say, still taken aback at how incredible the blue haired was to be able to move at such unfathomable speeds and survive. It was incredible but also a bit scary to think of how a small and frail boy could be responsible for such a feat.
"Yeah, no kidding" the commander with a deep sigh as his mind raced with thoughts of what Exelirus was capable of and as he did so he couldn't help but think that keeping the blue haired boy on Earth and allowing him to roam freely might be risky and may lead to massive ramifications later on.
"This kid is really something. His power is on a whole other level, to think he still had enough juice in him even after traveling through the cosmos to wreck a city and blitz through the H.O.P.E like it was nothing. I'm starting to rethink putting him in Project Integration" said the commander, airing out his concern about Exelirus and the threat he may pose.
"What? How about all the stuff you said about making an exception for him" asked Daniela.
"That was before I found out about this" said the commander while point at the screen.
"If the kid could survive this and come all the way to Earth, there's no telling what he may be capable of" said the commander.
"He's just a kid" said Daniela.
The commander upon hearing what Daniela said just sighed before saying, "I know that *sigh* but I've lived a long life and seen a lot of this. I've seen the good, the bad, and the outright horrifying. And throughout my entire life, I've witness countless time where the world had where the world have fallen to ruin because someone just wanted do something good. 80% of the world's population is human, ruffle 15% are demihumans and the remaining 5% didn't come from Earth. And out of the 15% of demihumans, about 5% are heroes, 4% are just want to live their lives peacefully and the remaining 6% are crocks, criminals, and psychos obsess with world domination or some other messed up ploy like the mass extinction of the human race. And as for the aliens, only 2% of them aren't obsessed with world domination. Earth has enough threat as it is and I just don't feel comfortable allowing another one in".
Daniela upon hearing what the commander said snapped and yelled out, "UNBELIEVABLE".
"HE'S. JUST. A. FREAKING. KID!!!!" Daniela yelled out in rage and anger.
"He isn't a mad alien warlord or an invader, he's just a kid, a kid who just lost his entire freaking planet. He literally has nowhere else go, no family, or friends, he's all alone and you're planning to lock him up just because you think he could be some kind of a threat" said Daniela.
"I know he's just kid *sigh*. I'm just worried. A kid like this has the potential to do great things but at the very same time he could end up like one of the low lives psychos who only seek destroy and spread misery with their gifts. I need you to understand that since he's going to be your responsibility" said the commander.
Daniela upon hearing what the commander said just sighed, understanding how great of responsibility was placed upon her before saying, "understood sir".
The commander upon hearing what Daniela said just sighed before saying, "Good, now get out of here, we'll monitor him for the time being and as soon as he's fully recovered he'll send him to you. After that, he'll be your problem to deal with".
Daniela upon hearing what the commander said just sighed before nodding her and making her way to the door about to leave but before she could, the commander spoke once more, "I know not everyone is meant to be hero Daniela and that it's not an easy job but the reality of the matter is, we need more people like you out there. The world is messed up and it won't hurt to have more people to look up to".
Daniela upon hearing what the commander said just took a deep breath before blitzing off in a blur of red and black.
Once Daniela was gone, the imaged on the commander's holographic screen switched from that of the shattered and scattered remains of Kinerix to the man in white.
"How is Exelirus doing?" asked the man.
"He'll live, the kid's a fighter. If he can survive the utter destruction of an entire planet, there are very little things out there that can take him down" said the commander.
The man in white just smirked at the commander's remark before saying, "That's good to hear that boy is destined to do great things".
"Yeah, I'm not so sure about that. I've seen promising people before, each with the potential to change the world only to end up as petty thugs and the run of the mill super villain. What makes this kid so special?" asked the commander.
"Nothing really, he's just like everyone but at the same he's different" said the man in white.
"You and you freaking parables, would it kill you speak plainly for once" said the commander a bit annoyed at the man in white's seemly nonsensical ramblings.
The man in white upon hearing what the commander said just chuckled lightly before saying, "Fine, all you need to bear in mind is this, the Earth in danger".
"What else is new" said the commander with an unfazed but yet slightly annoyed expression on his face.
"It's different this time, the Earth is about to face a threat bigger than anything it has ever faced before" said the man in white in a serious tone.
The commander upon hearing what the man and seeing he serious he was speaking, remained silent for a moment, taken aback for a bit before asking, "What's coming?"
"I can't quite explain myself; it's faint like a small puff of smoke coming from a raging inferno. I can sense something wicked in the air and the fact that it can evade my view worries me" said the man in white.
"Hmm" said the commander while thinking about what the man in white just said.
"Judas" the man in white called the attention of commander, with a serious look on his face.
"I don't think Exelirus crashing on Earth was by mere chance" said the man in white.
"What do you mean?" asked the commander.
The man in white just smiled before saying, "Fate is a mysterious thing, and it has a habit of bring people to where they did to be".
"Would you stop being cryptic and speak plainly for once" the commander spoke with mix of frustration.
"I could but what would be the fun in that" said the man in white with an amused look on his face, greatly annoying the commander.
"Just keep an eye on the boy and his development for now" said the man in white before ending the transmission.
The commander, now alone in his officer, sat on his desk in silence while stroking his beard with his mechanical arm as he thought about everything the man in white said. After taking a moment to think, he activated his holographic screen once more and it showed him an image of Exelirus fast asleep in the room he was placed in. As the commander looked at the sleeping blue haired child he couldn't help but wonder to himself, 'What makes you so special kid'.
