Chapter 2 Preparation
"Are you familiar with magic?" Luna asked. "I know the incantations for the 5 basic elements fire, water, wind, earth and thunder but that is only it." Okey that is good. I am relieved that I don't need to go through the trouble of memorizing the incantation because that is a pain in the bud. Luna started to explain. "There are 3 main types of magic, Attack, healing and summoning. Attack magic is split into the 5 main elements, earth, wind, water, fire and thunder, similar to that healing magic also further divided into 3 different elements, healing for treating injuries, detox for purging poisons and disease. And protection to bolsters the castors defenses or create barriers and last summoning. It is a bit different than simply creating a fireball or healing an injury. Magic of this caliber can't be cast by incantation but only through a magic circle."
"You ready?" Luna asked. "Yeah!" he said. Isaiah started to cast a spell.
"By rivers deep and oceans wide, I call upon the water's tide, with liquid power, clear and blue, grant me now what I pursue! Water ball!!" Isaiah screamed. A big water ball was created in the air. Luna's mouth felled open in surprise. "This amount of mana..." The water ball Isaiah created was the biggest Luna had ever seen, even bigger than the water ball Yatsu had presented to her. "ahhhhh!" Isaiah launched the water ball, and it flew over the desert until it wasn't visible to see with the eye. Luna imagined that it would still be flying. Isaiah had stars in his eyes from excitement, he was jumping around like a little child who got a new toy from Christmas. He turned around and gazed at Luna. "Master how did I do!" he screamed. Did he just call me master? I didn't teach him anything. "You did great my pupil." Isaiah looked with a big grin on his face. "Hey master! It is time for you to learn something!"
They were standing on top of a big sand dune. "Isaiah... her voice was trembling. "Please don't tell me what I think we are about to do..." Luna said while shaking. I am afraid! No, I don't want to do this. I am afraid of heights, afraid of big creatures and afraid of snakes. This creature has all of these things combined! Luna's whole body was trembling, she couldn't stand still anymore.
"hahah! Come on, this is how you will survive in the wastelands! Capture the snake and ride on it." A familiar sandstorm was raging at them. "No! Isaiah, I don't know how?" Luna screamed. Isaiah tossed a long rope in the form of a lasso at Luna, Luna caught the rope and looked at Isaiah with tears in her eyes. "Just toss the rope around the horns and pull the side of the rope which direction you want to go to!" You can do it!" he screamed cheerfully. The Sand snake was only meter await from Luna.
She used wind magic to jump so that she was able to get on top of the sand snake. Ones in the air she threw the lasso. The rope wrapped around the snake's horns and Luna landed on the snake's back, Luna held on to the rope for dear life and got her footing. She was able to stand on the snake's back but now only she had to control the fearsome beast. Luna noticed the diamond scales the snake had and used crystal magic to secure her feet like a retaining strap so that she remained standing. If it wasn't for the glasses, she was wearing she couldn't see anything. She pulled the rope with her right hand and the Sand snake turned right.
Isaiah let out a satisfying smile. "Yeah! Great job!" Isaiah screamed. Luna turned to see Isaiah and out of enthusiasm she let go of the rope to wave at him when she almost fell off the snake but luckily her crystal retaining strap saved her life.
If I fell of, I would undoubtedly have died. She turned around to get back but then she realized. How do I get off this thing? Her mind was filled with fear, she started to tremble. "ahhh! Isaiah help! How do I get off this thing!" Isaiah was still happily waving at Luna, and he had no idea of the clumsy situation Luna was in. Isaiah could hear Luna's rambling but Isaiah thought. "What am I a good teacher. This took me two-hole years to do it." with an overly satisfying face. Luna was coming straight to Isaiah and luna was still rambling, but he couldn't hear her. "She is coming Oddly close. Isn't she?" Isaiah questioned. "Is Luna trying to say something? I can't hear it" Isaiah listened very closely.
"ahhh! H..elp!" he heard. "Wait she is asking for help!?"
"What is it!" he screamed. "How do you stop this thing!" Luna screamed back. "You can just jump!" Isaiah screamed back. What! That is impossible how could you ever jump off this beast. "Just trust me, Luna! Jump to me." But how? No! This is impossible. Luna's mind couldn't process how you could jump off. He did it before he could do it, she thought. "Trust me." Luna heard. He also survived, jumping off this beast he has done it way more times than me, jump to me he said. Luna searched around and saw Isaiah, she inhaled deeply and looked determined.
She unleashed her retaining straps made off diamonds and held on to the rope tidily. "Yeah! Now!" Isaiah screamed and luna let go off the rope and jumped off the Sand snake.
Luna felt her body flying through the air and could see a beautiful sunset. The sun was shining a beautiful pink and orange color that reflected on the clouds, she could see the ocean and even the Gaia mountains. In this moment she feld peace and forgot of all of her problems but she also forgot she was in the air and crashing down towards the ground. She lost control of her body.
Oh! No! Not good! And she closed her eye. She was expecting to feel immense pain in her body, but she was greeted with warmth from a human body; it felt like she was being held like a little baby. When she opened her eye, she didn't saw an image of God but a boy. Isaiah had caught her in the before she could hit the ground. She was lying in his arms like she was rescued from an epic battle.
"arghh..."
Isaiah laid Luna on the ground. "Wow you are heavy" he said. Luna's expression changed from flustered to anger. "What did you just call me!" she screamed "Oh NO! I didn't mean that!" he said. "I am going to kill you!" They were running after each other like two kids playing tag. Luna noticed how hard the ground was. "Hey! Isaiah?" she asked. "No please don't kill me... What?" luna knocked on the ground and spoke. "Did the sand froze or something?" Isaiah looked worried. "Oh no is it already this late? We need to get back home quickly!" Luna didn't understand "so the sand really froze?" she asked. They started running. "The nights here are so cold that if you stay out here at night you will freeze to death" Isaiah said while running. "Even with clothes on?" Luna asked. "I have seen people freeze to death even with clothes that where inflicted with a spell that keeps the cloth worm." Isaiah said.
They were back in the village and they were inside a carved-out rock house not really big Luna could just barely stand up straight. A man just about the height of Isaiah came walking towards Luna and laid his hand on Luna's head. Luna was shocked but it kind of feld soothing like a parent who was happy to see their child return home. "This is how we waste landers say hallo to each other." The man let out a gentle smile and sat around the table. "My parents can't speak Deity; I think I am the only one in the village who can. I speak a little bit of Gaia but that's it. But I am going to study abroad. I would like to go to the University of Deity." Isaiah said. "I will go with you!" Luna jumped out of her seat and leaned over the table right in front of Isaiah face. Her expression was full of excitement. The old man looked in shock and was frozen in place. Isaiah's face was also full of surprise too. It is not that I want to go to school. I can already read, write and do basic math. The only thing I can't do is speak a foreign language; master Yatsu is the one that taught me all these things. Luna returned to her seat. "I want to return home... I live in the eastern continent in the country of Aluria. I thought that if you want to go to the university of Deity, I could go with you because it is on the way home?" Isaiah looked happy. "You take the words out of my mouth. I wanted to ask if you would come along." Luna looked relieved and let out a soft sign. I was really worried about how I would get home because if I am being honest with myself, I am afraid. Luna's eye was watery "Thank you Isaiah." she said. They both smiled at each other. Isaiah held out his hand, pinky promise? Luna wrapped her pinky around Isaiah's pink and said; pinky promise.
They were standing on top of a big dune looking at the rising sun. Isaiah was blowing on his flute to attract the Sand snakes. "How long will it take before we reach the nearest city?" luna asked. "Well if you would be walking it would take about half a year to reach the city of Gaia but with our good friends it will be about a week." The city of Gaia is located in the country of Terrovia. The familiar sandstorm appeared. "Speak of the devil. It is only one" Isaiah turned to Luna. "Do want to ride?" he asked. "Not in a million years!" Luna answered. "Okey but this is the last time you will ever come here in your life." Isaiah looked at Luna playfully. I hope I will never come back to this place. Who would ever want to come back? "Okey as you wish." Isaiah said. He secured Luna's and his own belts together with a hook so that they couldn't get separated from each other. The last thing you want here is to get stranded here alone. They jumped and landed on the back on the Sand snake. Isaiah threw the rope around the snake's horns and Luna made retaining straps around their feet. "Holt on to me tidily." Luna wrapped her hands around Isaiah's waist. "let's go!!!" Isaiah screamed.
