A month has passed since that strange encounter. We finally got enough money to effort an inn. There are two wooden beds, one on the left and on the right, with a white blanket and a pillow. The window is placed centrally in the back wall and shows a wintery night. It has become winter and that is making traveling a lot more difficult. On the wall to the left is a shelf with books and on the upper right is another shelf with a book and a candle. The candle is the only light source in the room making it cozy. Luna is currently alone in the room; Isaiah is looking to see if there are new jobs available. I hoped that by now I would be home, but I think I need to try to be more patient. We did mainly jobs like Clean the city or there was this one job we did for a consistent amount of time where we get nori ores, they made weapons like, swords or spears from that ore.
Isaiah walked back into the room. "Hey!" Luna said happily. "You are in a good mood" he said. "Yeah! I feel like we are getting closer to going home." Luna smiled. "Yeah, that is right..." Isaiah said to himself. "Hmm?" Luna murmured. "Oh, Ehmm.. About that... Isaiah said in a hesitating tone. "Do you really need to go home? Can't you come with me to the University of Deity?" Luna let out a soft smile. "That would be nice, but I first need ask for an application form from yatsu to enroll there, so that will take some time, but it doesn't seem like a bad Idea." Isaiah smiled. "Do you already have an application form?" Luna asked. "Yeah, my brother is already there, so he has one ready for me." I don't have a plan when I get home, I left in middle of a battle. I have no idea how that ended, maybe when I get back, they are all dead... No that would be impossible. They won, I know. Isaiah continued to speak "You remember what advice Kiruaki Kiriari gave us." "Yes, of course how could I ever forget that." Luna said. "That guest is on the board." Luna looked surprised. I always thought it was just some random kid that was acting like someone she had read about in a book. "She said something about the great sage, but who is that?" Isaiah asked. "There was an old legend, it said that four hundred years ago. All the 7 heavenly saints, a mage, the sage and the dragon were gathered to kill Nizhalgal the devil but even with all of them they couldn't kill him." Luna said. Nizhalgal's followers are people who possess the 7 deadly sins, one of them I got in a fight with, greed to be exact through him I lost my eye and got teleported here. "Nizhalgal is the one that Killed the immortal hero, right?" Isaiah asked. I assumed that folklore wasn't that popular in the Wastelands, but he was right. "That's right."
I actually want to check out the quest, it wouldn't hurt that much to do it, we have enough money for the next week and a little adventure is also existing. "Let's do the quest Kiruaki Kiriari advised us to do?" Luna suggested. Isaiah looked at Luna and spoke. "Sure!" I guess Isaiah was also a little bit curious about the quest. The description of the quest said; a hideous monster is blocking the road that merchants use as a trading route. The payment is ten large silver coins. They arrived at the places that the description had provided, Isaiah looked at a map. "It is here." he said. They looked around but didn't find anything. "I know she was laying." Isaiah said with a frustrating look. I hoped that she was telling the truth but the thing she whispered to me... she must be the great sage.
rustle...
They heard some rustling in the bushes. Wait. Maybe this is the beast the quest was talking about? The bushes were big and were full of big thorns. If a beast goes through it, it must have really tough skin. The rustling came closer and was louder.
Rustle!
Luna got ready to launch a spell and Isaiah had his sword out ready to fight. They both looked surprised when the creature the maked the rustling noice jumped out of the bush.
"Fwhahah!"
"Fwahaha! You finally arrived at last!" What jumped out of the bushes wasn't the fearful creature they expected to see but the great sage Kiruaki Kiriari. Luna looked disappointed. "let's go home..." she said to Isaiah and turned around to leave. "Hey! Wait up! You must fight me first!" Kiruaki Kiriari screamed. This is just sad to see she beliefs so much that she is really the great sage, but he died four hundred years ago. I feel sorry for her so at least I will cast a spell that does make her wet or something. I started pouring my mana into a spell and spoke the incantation. "By rivers deep and oceans wide, I call upon the waters tide, with liquid power, clear and blue, grant me now what I pursue..." Luna said in the biggest monotone voice ever showing she really didn't want to do this. They basically lost an entire day by coming here and going back. "Water ball..." she created an extremely small water ball that wouldn't even make all her face wet, only her hair. The great sage fell to the ground defeated it looked like she fainted from the spell. Well, I have to say this, she is really good at acting.
"They did it!"
"Wow that is unbelievable!" they heard behind them. Luna and Isaiah looked shocked by the sight of an entire army of red armored knights standing behind them. Luna's mouth left open in shock. Everyone cheered and clapped like they were first place at a tournament. "Good job." A high pitch voice said in the language of Gaia. There was a girl standing in front of the army, she was dressed in a richly detailed, Victorian-inspired red and black dress. The dress has an intricate pattern of touches and gem-like embellishments. She has long, light red hair and she wore a headband with spikes and roses on the side. Her expression is confident with light skin and dark red eyes. She has an elegant but slightly sinister look due to the combination of colors and accessories. She looked away in disinterest. "I suppose you expect a reward so you can stay in the royal castle of Gaia." she said in the Language of Deity. I got the feeling that she is a person that you don't want to make mad otherwise you won't see the end of it. Only looking into her eyes, you can see the fire of domination. "But..." Isaiah said but got cut off by the girl. Head held high see said. "What? don't think it's an honor to go to the palace of Gaia?" Oh, no I don't want her to get mad, I think that she would cut off your head without a problem. Luna got on her knees. "It would be an honor to go to your palace my highness, but we have some stuff in our inn that we need to pack first and the reward for completing the quest..." Luna said. "No need for that! I have knights that can take the stuff for you, and I can offer you a way higher reward!" she said proudly. Getting a higher reward is a tempting offer, but we are almost ready to get going. "I am sorry, but I am afraid we can't..." Luna was still on her knees. "What?" the girl said with an angry face. Luna was sweating, this aura that the girl had was predominant. Isaiah was terrified as well. "We will go with you..." he defeatedly said. Luna's gaze was at the ground she couldn't even dare to look up. "That's what I like to hear! You are going to love it." She said as she hopped away like a little child.
"Sign." Luna let out a soft sign in relief. We are being held up, but it is better than our heads being chopped off.
Isaiah and Luna were sitting in a room. The ceiling is high and richly decorated with ornate patterns and arch structures protruding downward, reminiscent of Gothic or neo-Gothic architecture. A large, impressive chandelier with many candles hangs centrally in the room, adding to the luxurious look. The walls are covered with large, detailed paintings and tapestries depicting historical or mythological scenes. An ornate fireplace with decorative elements is located on one of the red walls, The room is decorated with various classic furnishings, including sofas, chairs and tables, lavishly covered with fabrics in various patterns and colors. The room also contains various decorative accessories such as vases with flowers, picture frames and pillows, which contribute to a homely and elegant ambiance.
The girl walked into the room together with an old man. The man was wearing noble clothing and had grey hair. I assume he is the father and king? They sat down across from them. "I am George Shiva, the king of this kingdom. I heard you two defeated the great beast that blocked our trading route." he said in the language of Gaia. His voice was deep and serious. I didn't understand any of it but luckily Isaiah translated everything for me. "My daughter told me that I owe you a reward better than 10 large silver pieces but because I am rich and felling generous, I will give you any reward you desire." I guess the girl takes her attitude from her father, but I don't understand why everyone is giving us so much credit for the stupidest guest ever. "We are traveling to Poseidon..." George frowned when he heard that. "From there we want to take a boat to go to the city of Deity." Isaiah said. George expression turned to normal. It is probably the mention of Poseidon that he reacted that way, they are at war with each other. "What do you want to accomplish there in deity?" George asked. "I would like to attend the University of deity, go to school basically." Isaiah said. "School?..." the girl said softly. "What is school?" she asked. Wait, this girl doesn't know what a school is? I saw plenty of them in the city. She can speak other languages, so she had to learn that somewhere maybe she got home schooled her entire life? "School is a place where you can discover and learn things. It can be all types of magic, other languages, or just enroll because you are curious to learn." The girl's eyes were filled with excitement. "Father can I..." George looked angry at the girl. "NO! You must serve your people here and prepare until you will be queen." He said angrily. The girl looked sad and looked at the ground. I never would have thought to see her this way, all of her pride and confidents were gone. "Okey father..." she said. "Sorry for that. So, tell up, what is your reward?" he asked. Money and a carriage would be the first thing that would come to mind, But the girl. She looks so sad almost like she is about to cry but what can I do for her. My entire life I have been helped by others, but I can't think of a time when I was able to help someone. What can I do... "Enough money to get to Poseidon and a carriage to travel please." Isaiah said. George smiled "of course that is the thing everyone should asked in a situation like this, you are a smart boy." He sat in his seat proudly with his arms crossed. He clapped his hands and stood up ready to head out. "Wait!" Luna said in the language of Deity. Luna had a determent look on her face and turned to George. "I would like to take the girl with me." Luna said. George frowned like I had just declared war with him. Isaiah translated what Luna said.
"Whahahah!"
"Whahaha!" George busted out in laughter. "Good joke girl!" He spoke. I don't know what he said be I am determent she wants this and I will give it to her. "I am serious!" Luna said. George stopped laughing and walked over and stood opposite of me. The table was the only thing that separated us.
Luna rose from her seat, "My reward is to let her go with us, you told us you will give us any reward you desire." George signed. "Girl." His voice was softer than before like someone is going to tell you bad news. "I am at war with the country that you two want to travel to and you want to take my daughter the princess to that country. Only for suggesting I can give you the death penalty, so no she is not going with you." Isaiah translated. Luna's face was full of determination, she wasn't letting go so easily. "My name is Luna Davida, Yatsu Davida is my master." George looked surprised but not convinced. "I will declare to you if something happens to your daughter on our trip. Yatsu Davida will take all the responsibility and will give all his power to you. I will even sign a contract if needed. You can even enslave me." George let out a smile of relief, his eyes were filled with happiness. "Can everyone leave the room. I want to speak with the girl alone." He said in the language of Gaia. Everyone left the room. "Thank you, Luna Davida." George said in the language of Deity. Wait? He can talk Deity, why didn't he do that right from the start? "I owe your master a big debt, you can say that he saved my life. But are you absolutely sure you can do this, if not." Luna looked George straight into his eye. "I am" she said. He smiled. "I wanted to send Rosilia to that school for a very long time, to get her to know the world and getting her away from the war that is going on." So Rosilia is her name. "You can't use the main road to travel because of the war. I will give you a map with all the directions." He spoke. They shook hands and got ready to leave the room. Luna was about to open the door when George said. "Wait, Luna. I have something for you." He searched in his pockets, and he was holding a knife. "This is the dagger from the dragon Volonica." The knife has wavy blades just like a Kris, the handle looks old like it has been used many times in battle. At the end of the handle is something that looks like an Egyptian eye. "Yatsu gave this to me, but I want you to have it. I hope it will protect you on your journey."
