They finally arrived at the city. The city was surrounded by big mountains that would go as far as the eye could see. They were heading for the city entrance, two guards stood watch. "There are guards here. Are we really going to be, okay?" Isaiah questioned. I amuse that Isaiah never had been to a city before so it would be natural that he is feeling anxious. "Don't worry cities almost never turn anyone away." I understand Isaiah's Judgment, these guys feel pretty intimidating. These guards were clad in red armor with helmets that completely hid their faces. The armor looked rather ominous, with sharp points on top of the helmet. "Halt," they said when we approached them. "Yes, what is it?" Isaiah said in a language I didn't recognize. I looked at Isaiah as he was talking to them. "They need to take our weapons for safety reasons. We can pick them up at the adventures' Guild." Isaiah said. I understand why they do that. It is dangerous having random people walking around with weapons in the city. They searched me for any weapons, and we were good to go.
"What should we do first?" Isaiah asked. "Well do you have some money?" Luna asked. "Money? We usually trade for the stuff we wanted." Oh, don't tell me that this guy has never seen money before? "Did you ever use money before?" she asked. "I have not." he replied sticking his thump up. "Why do you look so happy about it? Okay. I will say the coin order from least worth to most worth. Small stone coin,
Small copper coin,
Large copper coin,
Small silver coin,
Large silver coin,
Gold coin,
Crown emblem and last the Emperor emblem. This currency is used by big kingdoms like Deity, Gaia and Poseidon but for smaller kingdoms like Ifaisteio, Carlem and Kyoei the currency is as follows,
Stone coin,
Copper coin,
Silver coin and gold coin." Luna explained. Isaiah was looking at Luna amazed by the knowledge she had. "Wow! You are so smart but what if I want to use a stone coin from a smaller kingdom and buy something with it here?" "Well, ten stone coins from a small kingdom is equal to one small copper coin here." Luna said. They walked past the city's gates. "So how are we going to get money then?" He asked. "We'll head to the adventurers' Guild first." "All right." And so, we did.
"Wow, this place is incredible!" Two giant statues of figures dominate the center of the city. These figures resemble warriors or protectors of the city and stand on tall pedestals. Behind the statues is a vast city with Gothic and medieval buildings. Tall towers and castles suggest a rich and historic past. On the left side of the city is a coastline with several ships in port. The coastline is rocky, and the city extends to the waterfront. Mountains can be seen in the distance, covered with snow, adding to the picturesque nature of the environment. The city seems to be well protected with high walls and forts along the coastline and at the entrance to the city. These defenses reinforce the image of a mighty and impregnable city. The city is rich in detail, with many small structures and subtle nuances in the buildings and landscape and creates an incredible looking scene. Everywhere you looked you could see how thriving the city was, an open market near the entrance, people on lizard beast-drawn vehicles, merchants squabbled with adventurers, townspeople milled about, perusing stories with great interest. It was a sight to behold.
I have been to a few cities before, but this is something I only would see in dreams. I am not dreaming, right? They arrive at the adventures' Guild. "So, this is the adventures' Guild?" Isaiah said. The interior looks like a large hall or tavern with stone walls and a wooden ceiling. There is a large staircase on the left leading to an upper floor. In the center of the room is a large bulletin board with various papers attached to it. Several people are scattered around the room, most of the people are wearing medieval clothing. They were standing in front of the bulletin board. So, these are the jobs that we can pick from? The jobs here are far less well paid than in Deity. Maybe Gaia is going through a financial crisis? or is it because of all or the warfare that is going on? Especially with the kingdom of Poseidon, they have been at war for over a hundred years. There are some basic jobs here such as, Clean the city, description; help keep the city clean. Be a hero, description; join the knight and serve the empire. missed animals, description; Find lost animals. "You can do all of these jobs?" Isaiah asked. The descriptions were written in Gaia, Deity and Poseidon. "Yeah, but I don't think we should do jobs that would take long to get paid for example, be a hero you will get paid every two months and I don't want to stay that long." Maybe if we skip this city and go straight to Poseidon, we will have more money in the end. If we can get a job that we can do quickly and get paid good enough we could maybe buy an inn for the night. "Isaiah? Can you ask for me how much money one night in the inn costs?" Isaiah let out a proud thumbs up and sprinted to the counter, the guy behind the counter was physically shocked. "One large copper per night per person!" That is two large coppers for both of us. Twenty small copper or two hundred small stone. Luna was looking at the bulletin board with a worried expression. The cleaning quest is the one that paid the fastest and incidentally the only one we could do before sunset but for one street we clean we can get five small copper coins and with the two of us I think we are able to do two streets, maybe three at least that will leave us with fifteen small copper. The adventures' Guild closes at sunset and after that we can't receive our rewards anymore. You can still rent the inn but without money it is a little bit difficult.
I guess we will be out here in the streets at night... Luna looked afraid.
Heavy breathing was filling the air and she started to sweat.
She could hear her heart pounding, she was cold and trembling. An intense pain in her chest was accumulating.
She knew exactly what was happening she having a panic attack.
Isaiah returned "And do you think we will have enough money?" he asked. "We can't..." and luna ran out of the boulding.
"Wait where are you going!?" Isaiah screamed as he was chasing Luna. Luna ran with all her speed, tears running down her face, but because of the lack of food and sleep Isaiah had caught up to her. Putting a hand on Luna's shoulder, Isaiah stopped her. "Wait" Luna turned around and pushed Isaiah away. Luna's eye were filled with fear, tears were continuing to come out of her eye. "I need to go I can't stay here!" Luna screamed. Isaiah looked confused. "Why?" he asked. "I can't stay here at night! I need to get out of here!" Isaiah was even more confused. "Didn't people always say that inside the city was the safest where you could be at night?" Isaiah thought. "But look at her face. It is completely filled with fear, how can I comfort her?" Isaiah continued to speak. "Inside the city it is way safer than being out there...." "HOW WOULD YOU KNOW OFF ANY OF THAT CRAP!!! YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN INSIDE A CITY BEFORE!!"
Luna screamed; her vision was blurry; she was getting dizzy.
Fear.
Fear.
Fear.
Fear.
Fear.
All the other thoughts in Luna's mind were replaced by fear. She started to vomit, and she fell on her knees. Isaiah stood in shock unable to move. "I don't know what to do?" Isaiah looked to the left and saw a bar still open. "I'll take her there." he thought. They were sitting in an old bar. The interior was all made of wood, and they were sitting at a table that looked like a picnic table. We washed Luna's face and her clothes in the toilet with some water magic. Luna's face pas pile and her expression was melancholic. "Do you want to tell me why you got so upset?" Isaiah asked. Luna stared at the table like a frozen doll. Luna's mouth slowly opened and started to speak.
"When I was younger, I lived in a big mansion with my parents. I got all the things in the world and had the best life in the world but when I was 7 or 8 my parents got into a financial crisis, and they were forced to sell their home. Then one night when we were staying at an inn my parents left me all alone in the inn. When I woke up, they were gone, I spent the entire day searching for them until it got dark. I couldn't return to the inn because they only paid for one night, so I was forced to stay outside at night. Then...." Luna let out a Gag reflex and tears started to come out of her eye. "You are doing great you don't have to rush, just take it slow." Isaiah comforted her. Luna sobbed and continued to speak. "Then a big chubby man he looked like he was in his late fortieth came walking at me he told me he had a place for me to stay, I didn't know better back then so I just accepted his offer. Ones I was in his house it looked old, dilapidated and I knew something was terribly wrong. As I turned around the old man had a big grin on his face. He grabbed me, tied me up and threw me into a little room, it was cold, it stank. Then the man started to torture me, he made me kiss him all over his disgusting body and he started to rape me! I don't know how many days I spent there but after the tenth time I lost time I lost count. I don't know how many times I tried to kill myself but every time he was able to stop me but then one day a man came to save me and brought me to his mansion. I don't know where he came from or how he got to know I was there but ever since then I have lived there until I was teleported here."
Isaiah looked at her in silence and spoke. "Is that man still alive?" Luna looked at Isaiah. "I don't know..." I never asked that question to Yatsu, maybe because I wanted to run away from it. I still do. "You don't have to worry now. You are the strongest person I know, and I am here." he said. "I know and I didn't expect to react this way." Yastu... Tatsuya... Ruza I wish you were here. I am just so afraid. Luna felt a warm sensation in her hand. Isaiah had grabbed her hand and wrapped his own around Her's. "I won't let anything happen to you again!" Isaiah looked determent and confident. The sensation of Isaiah's hands and the look he was giving were soothing and made Luna feel at ease a little bit. "Thank you, Isaiah." Luna said in a still uncertain and sad tone. Isaiah jumped out of his seat and embraced Luna holding her tide Like he would never let her go. Normally Luna would say that he was hugging her to tidily but now it felt secure and with concern for her. Ones Luna realized that she let out a cry and embraced Isaiah too, the cry was not from saddens or grief but from relief.
