The first half of the Grand Line, Marine Base.
POV Gion
I stared at the vast sea as we sailed towards a nearby island, hoping to catch loose pirates in the Grand Line. I was sent to sail the first half of the Grand Line by Sengoku, the current fleet Admiral. I was tasked to improve my mastery over my newly acquired Devil Fruit, the Ketsue Ketsue No Mi (blood).
I have tried out the Devil Fruit in combat with small time pirates and with some of my men in my fleet. None stood a chance with my newly acquired power. The power of the blood fruit is immense, it can obliterate tens of mens and destroy ships.
As I thought about my Devil Fruit, I looked down at my sword and held it, with one of my hands holding the scabbard while the other held the hilt. I slowly took out the sword from its scabbard, and as I took it out, blood oozed out of the sword, dropping on the hardwood floor.
The Devil Fruit isn't as hard to control as I had imagined. I thought that I would have to wait and train for months just to control the blood. However, it merely took me a few minutes.
As I stared at my bloody sword, a Lieutenant suddenly yelled at me while running.
"Vice Admiral Gion! A call from HQ has arrived."
Looking at the Den Den Mushi, I figured that the person calling was none other than the Fleet Admiral.
I quickly took the Den Den Mushi from the Lieutenant and signaled him to go. As the marine left, I picked up the Den Den Mushi, and a serious voice from Sengoku spoke.
"Gion, are you busy right now?"
Confused, I quickly answered, "No, we are currently just trying to find pirates to hunt."
"Good. I want you to bring 400 million barries to a Marine Base. It should be nearby."
"What for?"
"There is a bounty hunter that took down several pirates. Mostly low level pirates, but I heard the highest was 40 million barries. I want you to try and recruit that bounty hunter! That person could be a potential Vice Admiral!"
"Sir!"
--3 hours later–
As we got down from the Marine Ship, many of my men trembled as they saw the decapitated pirates. Although we see many bloodshed, nearly daily, most of the men in my ship have yet to see this kind of gore.
The entire floor throughout the dock was filled with blood, head, limbs, genitalia, even a whole body was split cleanly open with the inside of his body showing.
Although there were alot of dead, there were also plenty that were alive, barely. Many of the captured pirates were crying, hopeless, and were tired with life.
As I pondered who could have done such a thing, and how powerful they must be, a sudden presence appeared behind me, with its hot breath breathing down my neck. Every hair on my body stood, as I drew my sword and swung it towards the person behind me. However, to my dismay, nothing was behind me, as if the person suddenly disappeared.
"Is my money finally here?"
A voice could be heard on top of a rooftop. It was a mink. He was sitting down while he stared at us with a predatory gaze.
"Who are you?! State your name!" I yelled as I pointed my sword at his direction.
As I interrogated the mink, a Rear Admiral from a different division suddenly ran towards me and saluted.
"Vice Admiral Gion, it's a pleasure to meet you! I am Rear Admiral Kai, the one incharge of this Marine base."
"Rear Admiral Kai, mind telling me who this mink is?"
"He was the person that brought these pirates here. He claimed that he destroyed all the pirates residing in the Pirate island Jaya. He goes by the name Rengar, and is from the nation of Demacia. I have been trying to identify the Kingdom of Demacia, but there is currently no progress."
I merely nodded and said, "Understood."
I looked at Rengar and asked, "So you're a bounty hunter? Not a Pirate? If you aren't a Pirate, would you like to join the Marines? We give many benefits, alone with the protection of the World Government. No pirate that holds a grudge against you would be able to harm you."
The man snickered and responded to my questions, "Where is my money?"
I frowned, "You have no interest in the Marines?"
He got down from the building with a bang, "No, I don't. I wanna be free. Although I won't join the Marines, I would still love to work with you in the future. I will not be harming any innocent and will only kill the criminals."
I tried to convince Rengar more as his nature was as bad as I thought. He was also stronger than most Marines, with the only exceptions of stronger Rear Admirals and above.
We gave him his money and took all the prisoners. He thanked us and left with his ship that appeared to have no crew but him.
--next day--
Kingdom of Demacia
Markon POV
As I ate my food, a sudden notification suddenly struck my ears. A blue screen appeared as I ordered Orlon.
[400 million have been added to your account.]
Checking my money, I currently have 800 million barries. Building the temple for Aurelion Sol was at least 1 billion. The 1 billion temple was a small one, around 100 feet tall. The medium sized Temple was 1.5 billion barries and was 200 feet tall.
'I don't have the money. Even If I did have 1 billion barries, I'd still rather have the medium sized one. I want it to stand out from all other buildings.' I thought to myself.
As I pondered about the money problem, a light bulb suddenly lit up. I took out a Den Den Mushi and called Myne who instantly answered.
"Hello, your highness?"
"Give me money."
"How much?"
"Seven hundred million." I said with a straight face
"..."
No one spoke for a couple of seconds, until Myne started yelling, "What do you need 700 million barries for?! Although we have the money, we still have many other islands to go to. We could potentially find something that we can trade to other islands!"
"Tsk, you said it yourself, you have the money. This is something important, give me my money."
"Hmp!"
*Click*
A few moments after Myne got off the Den Den Mushi, a sudden notification that failed to keep my smirk hidden appeared.
[700 million barries have been added to your account.]
"Finally, I have enough to build a Temple for Aurelion Sol!"
[Quest: Temple for the Star Forger
Create a grand Temple for the Star Forger!
Time: 5 years
Reward: Summon Aurelion Sol]
As I smiled at the new quest, a new notification piqued my curiosity as it was in a green color instead of the normal blue notifications.
[Two major events are bound to collide. Two special missions can now be combined into one, with different rewards.]
"What? Orlon, what the hell is this? How come I've never heard about special missions and the combination of two events?"
[Simply put, there has not been a special mission.]
"And what are these special missions? And how do I know if my missions are special"
[Special missions are missions that directly impact the story of the original plot. When I say directly, I mean heavenly influence on the world itself. As for the combination, only special missions are allowed. Lastly, you cannot know if something is a special mission unless a combination happens, as such events would lead to unknown futures.]
"Then how come meeting Ace is a special mission?"
[Only time will tell]
