Markon POV
I stopped training once Ace and his crew left for their grand adventure. It was fun while it lasted, but now I have a Kingdom to build.
I got up on the ground and patted my clothes, removing the dust. I asked Orlon for a mission, to which Orlon quickly responded,
[Quest: True Kingdom
Citizens are important for a Kingdom! Recruit 150 citizens for the Kingdom of Demacia!
Current Citizen: (16/150)
Time: 10 years
Reward: 4 Important Avatars, Hayday Farm 5x, Free 200 residential houses, upgrade the current home to a proper castle. (Note, it will take a few days for the buildings to finish)]
"So it begins…" I thought
Although I have created a Kingdom, it's just a kingdom in name. We can't produce anything other than petricite, and petricite is currently running low with no way of planting. What I need right now is a stable source of income and citizens.
"But how do I recruit when I'm stuck here? And I still need to figure out how to plant petricite…"
As I pondered on what to do, I suddenly heard my Den Den Mushi go off with its appearance being that of All Might.
"Hello? What do you need All Might?" I asked
All Might quickly spoke, but I could hear his somber voice instead of his normal energetic voice, "King Markon… You said that I should call you when I find people struggling… Well, I have now."
"Where are you guys?"
"We are currently at the Kingdom of Alabasta."
I sighed as I recognized the name, "Alright, what happened?"
"As we traversed through the hot desert of Alabasta, we encountered a village. However, the village and the villagers looked miserable. They didn't have food or water, it seems that they currently experiencing a drought. What's more, it would seem that they have given up on their current king, because of the current rumor going around saying that the Royal Family has been using Dance Powder and caused a massive drought spreading throughout the whole island. Is it possible to help these people in need? Kids are starving and the elderly are watching as their young ones beg for food and water!"
I paused for a moment and looked at the mission and finally answered, "Yes, you may help them. But first, I want you to meet the current King of Alabasta. I want you to ask for his approval, we don't want to cause more trouble for them."
"Yes, thank you!"
*Kacha*
I smiled as All Might hung up. Although we could technically just take those people without asking them because if anything, we're doing them a favor. However, I want to build a relationship with them and make them view me as a benevolent ruler. I want people to trust me, not be scared of me.
I placed my Den Den Mushi in my pocket and began running towards the petricite trees. I have been trying to plant petricite for the past few days and nothing has happened. With no progress, I gave up for a couple of days and just started training.
It took me a couple of minutes, faster than ever, to arrive where the petricites were. With the training I have been doing, my speed, power, and reaction time have increased significantly.
I plucked out 10 leaves from a petricite tree to plant. I sat down and started digging and planted 1 petricite leaf and sprinkled some water on it.
-10 minutes later-
"Nothing… Nothing is happening like always. Why did I even try?"
I sighed and my mind went somewhere else other than planting and growing damn trees. I began to think about the people I summoned and the fact that I can't even beat most of them. The only summons I can really beat are Myne and the builder, two non-combat summons. Even the fodders can beat me.
Although the ninjas were weak in terms of physical capability, they were far more nimble and more experienced than I am. Plus there's the ninjutsu.
Almost everyone in this world, including random pirates, could probably kill me. And that's because I don't know how to fight. Or at least didn't.
I might not remember who I am, but I know for damn sure I never fought before. Fighting people with experience is hard, and Rengar showed me that.
In a world where violence exists in every single corner of the world, far more frightening than my previous world, the natives of this land must fight for their lives every day, making them more hardened and experienced than I am.
With that being said, them being more experienced and stronger only gives me more reason to train and hone my skills.
I closed my eyes and meditated, trying to control the star Orlon had given me. I calmed and eased almost every single muscle in my body to let out some of the star's energy. An orange hue started gradually leaving my body behind.
-1 hour later-
Opening my eyes, I couldn't recognize where I was. The barren land that I was sitting on before was now gone, replaced by tall petricite trees.
I stood up and quickly asked Orlon, "What happened? Did someone move me?"
[No. With the energy you were emanating, no animal got near you.]
"Then… These petricite trees, are these the ones I planted?"
[Yes.]
"But how? It didn't work before, so what happened now?"
[Ding! Congratulations on finding out how to plant petricite trees!]
"What? Are you fuckin stupid? I still don't know how to grow these little shit."
[Would you like me to explain?]
"Please do."
[Petricite grows from absorbing energy. Meaning the energy you were releasing has now been absorbed by the petricite trees. It was also the reason why your energy did not explode and caused mass destruction to your surroundings like what happened while training with Ace.]
I smiled while looking around the new petricite trees and said,
"Is that so?"
