John's face was red with rage as he confronted Thane. "How dare you bring my daughter into your dirty games as leverage?" he thundered.
Thane stood his ground, his eyes flashing with defiance. "I love Hana, Mr. Larson. I'm not using her as leverage.", John sneered. "Don't lie to me, Thane. I know all about your family's dealings. You're using Hana to get to me, aren't you?"
Thane took a step forward, his voice rising. "That's not true. I love Hana, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.",but John wasn't having any of it. "You're just like your father, using people as pawns in your game of power. Well, I won't let you use my daughter."
Hana lowered her head and sobbed quietly by Thane's side, her body shaking with sobs. Wendy tried to calm John down, placing a hand on his arm."John, please. Let's talk about this calmly.", But John shook her off. "No, Wendy. This is between me and Thane."
Thane's face was set in a determined expression. "I understand that you're upset, Mr. Larson. But I assure you, my intentions are pure. I love Hana, and I want to make her happy."John snorted. "You don't know the meaning of the word. You're just a beast, like your father."
Hana's sobs grew louder, and Thane pulled her into his arms, holding her close. "Don't listen to him, Hana. I love you, and I'll always be here for you."
But John's words had already done their damage. Hana's heart was breaking, and she didn't know if she could ever forgive her father for his cruel words.
"You're just like your father, Thane," John spat, his voice venomous. "He was a ruthless man who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. He destroyed lives, including mine. He ruined my family's business, and I had to restart from scratch. But I did it, Thane. I recovered. I rebuilt. And I did it all for Hana. I wanted to give her a better life."
Thane's face went white, and he took a step back, his eyes flashing with anger. "How dare you," he growled. "You know nothing about my father or me."
"Oh, but I do," John said, his voice dripping with malice. "I know all about your father's dealings, Thane. I know how he used his wealth and influence to sabotage my family's business because our family bussiness proved to be tough competetion . And I know about the...other thing. The thing he did to Hana's mother."
Hana's eyes went wide with horror, and she looked at Thane in shock. "Thane, what's he talking about?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Thane's face was set in a grim expression, and he nodded curtly. "My father...he tried to violate your mom, didn't he? When you were pregnant with Hana?"
Wendy nodded, tears streaming down her face. "Yes. It was a full moon night. He came to our house, his eyes gleaming with a feral light. He tried to...he tried to rape me. But I fought him off. I had to protect my baby."
Hana's eyes went wide with shock, and she looked at Thane in horror. "Thane, I had no idea," she said, her voice trembling.
Thane's face was set in a grim expression, and he nodded curtly. "I know. My father was a monster. But I am not like him. I swear it."
"I hunted werewolves during my spare time," John said, his voice cold and detached. "I tracked them down and killed them, one by one. I made it my mission to rid the world of their kind. And I would never, ever allow my daughter to be with one of them and you aren't just a werewolf you are the most powerful Hybrid werewolf-vampire."
Thane's face went white with rage, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. "You're a monster, John," he growled. "You're no better than the werewolves you hunted."
"I'm not a monster," John said, his voice rising. "I'm a protector. I protected my family and my community from the likes of you. And I would do it again in a heartbeat."
Hana looked at her father in shock, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Dad, how could you?" she asked, her voice trembling. "I did it for you, Hana," John said, his voice softening. "I did it to keep you safe. And I would do it again if it meant keeping you away from him."
Thane's face twisted in anger, and he took another step forward. "You'll never keep us apart, John," he snarled. "Hana is mine now, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep her." John's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. "My daughter isn't an object for you to keep she is a living person with the right to make choices,You'll never have her, Thane," he growled. "I'll kill you first."
"Make a choice, Hana," John demanded, his voice firm but pained. "Choose between me and Thane. Who do you want to be with?", Hana just cried more, her body shaking with sobs. Thane embraced her, holding her close as she wept. "I can't, Daddy," Hana said, her voice barely audible. "I love you both. I can't choose."
Thane understood her dilemma and nodded sympathetically. "I understand, Hana. I'll accept whatever choice you make.", but John pressured her, his face stern. "You have to choose, Hana. You can't be with both of us. It's not right."
Thane's body stiffened, and Hana felt it. She knew he was trying to prepare himself for the worst, "It's only reasonable, Hana," Thane said quietly. "Your parents have been there for you all your life. You've known me for only three months. It's only natural that you would choose them."
Hana felt a pang of guilt and sadness. She knew Thane was right, but she couldn't bear the thought of losing him either. She was torn, and she didn't know what to do.
