Chapter 31 - CHAPTER 31 - Unexpected Encounter

After taking her on a tour of the villa, she told him she wanted some and he took her to an ice cream parlour, he told her to go in and he went to park the car, Hana walked in and sat at a table waiting for him to come in, Thane was about to go in to meet her when he saw a very familiar figure.....

Thane's eyes were fixed on Sapphire, his mind racing with questions. Why was she here? Isn't she dead? What was she doing here? How was she here?

Hana walked out to check on Thane and saw him standing at the entrance, his eyes fixed on some woman she didn't recognize. She followed his gaze and saw a woman with raven black hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Thane, what's wrong?" Hana asked, noticing the look of shock on his face. Thane didn't respond, his eyes still fixed on Sapphire. Hana's curiosity got the better of her, and she walked over to Thane, following his gaze.

"Who is that?" Hana asked, her voice barely above a whisper.Thane finally snapped out of his trance and turned to Hana. "It's Sapphire," he said, his voice laced with disbelief.

Hana's eyes widened in shock. "But I thought she was dead," she said, her voice filled with confusion. Thane nodded, his eyes still fixed on Sapphire. "So did I," he said, his voice filled with questions.

Sapphire finally noticed Thane and Hana standing there, and her eyes locked onto Thane. A mixture of emotions flashed across her face, and she quickly excused herself from the guy she was talking to and walked towards Thane.

"Thane," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Thane's eyes were fixed on Sapphire, his mind racing with questions. What was she doing here? Why did she pretend to be dead? Hana stood there, feeling a sense of unease. Who was this woman, and what did she want with Thane?

As Sapphire approached, Thane's eyes never left hers. Hana could sense the tension between them, and she wondered what was going to happen next.

Hana's eyes narrowed as she watched Thane's reaction. Who was this woman, and why was Thane so shocked to see her? Sapphire approached Thane, a smile playing on her lips. "Thane, it's been a long time," she said, her voice dripping with familiarity.

Thane's eyes never left hers, his expression unreadable. "Sapphire," he said, his voice firm. "I thought you were dead.", Sapphire laughed, a throaty sound. "I'm afraid that was just a ruse, Thane. I needed to disappear for a while, and I knew you would believe I was dead if I staged it convincingly enough."

Hana's eyes widened in shock. This woman had faked her own death? Why? Thane's eyes narrowed. "Why did you fake your own death, Sapphire?" Sapphire shrugged. "I needed to escape, Thane. I was in danger, and I knew that if I disappeared, you would protect me."

Hana's mind raced with questions. Who was this woman, and what did she have to do with Thane? Why had she faked her own death?, as Thane and Sapphire talked, Hana felt a sense of unease growing inside her. She didn't like this one bit. Who was this woman, and what did she want with Thane?

"Thane, who is this woman?" Hana asked, her voice firm. Thane turned to her, his eyes apologetic. "Hana, this is Sapphire. We have a...complicated history."

Sapphire's eyes locked onto Hana, a hint of amusement in their depths. "Ah, Thane's new plaything," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "How quaint." Hana's eyes narrowed, her hackles rising. Who did this woman think she was, talking to her like that?

"Thane, I think we need to talk," Hana said, her voice firm. Thane nodded, his eyes still fixed on Sapphire. "Yes, we do." "Thane," she said, her voice low and husky. "I didn't expect to see you here."Thane's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions. "Sapphire, what are you doing here?" he demanded. "I thought you were dead."

Sapphire smiled, a mischievous glint in her eye. "I know, I know. I faked my own death to escape from some trouble. But I'm back now, and I see you're doing well." Thane's eyes were still fixed on Sapphire, his expression unreadable. "What do you want, Sapphire?" he asked gruffly.

She shrugged, her smile faltering for a moment. "I just wanted to see you, Thane. I've missed you." Thane raised an eyebrow, his skepticism clear. "You've missed me?" he repeated. "After all these years?"

She nodded, her eyes pleading. "Yes, Thane. I know I hurt you in the past, but I've changed. I promise." Thane snorted, his expression unyielding. "You expect me to believe that?" Sapphire took a step closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Thane, please. I need your help. I'm in danger, and I don't know who else to turn to."

Thane's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions. What kind of danger was Sapphire in? And why should he care? Just then, Hana walked out of the ice cream parlor, a look of concern on her face. "Thane, what's going on?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Sapphire.

Thane hesitated, unsure of what to say. But before he could respond, Sapphire spoke up. "Thane, please," she said, her voice urgent. "We need to talk. Alone."

Thane hesitated, unsure of what to do. A part of him wanted to turn his back on Sapphire and walk away, but another part of him was curious about what she wanted. And what kind of danger she was in

Thane nodded, but his mind was already made up. He needed to know what Sapphire wanted, and why she was back after all these years. "Let's go somewhere and talk," he said finally, turning to Sapphire.

Sapphire nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Thank you, Thane." as they walked away, Hana watched them go, a worried expression on her face. She didn't trust Sapphire, and she didn't think Thane should either. But she knew Thane well enough to know that he wouldn't listen to her warnings. At least, not yet.
