Chapter 18 - "Tears and Portals"

And that's how it started," Banayote said, finishing his story. The girl and Hannah sat across from him, their mouths agape.

"So, your girlfriend is a demon fox from the underworld?" the girl asked, her voice full of disbelief.

"And she was 7 feet tall?" Hannah added, her curiosity piqued. "Did she have a big chest? She must have."

Banayote glanced at Hannah, too shy to answer, his face turning a shade of red.

The girl, sensing his discomfort, pressed on. "Well, if you really loved each other, why did you leave her?"Hannah nodded in agreement. "Yes, why?"

Banayote hesitated, the weight of the memories bearing down on him. Finally, he spoke, his voice tinged with regret. "I just... I didn't want to bother her. She was a very busy woman, and I'm just a human. I didn't want to cause her any trouble. And her father... he was against the idea of us getting married. So I ran away. I couldn't tell her to her face. I just couldn't..." His voice cracked, and tears welled up in his eyes.

The girl reached out, her tone gentle. "It's okay, please don't cry. Look, we all get frustrated, and sometimes we don't know what to do. And yes, sometimes we make decisions without thinking things through. But it's okay."

Hannah nodded in agreement, her expression softening.

Banayote wiped his tears and managed a small smile. "Thank you for understanding. I'm sorry for the trouble I caused before—"

Before he could finish, the TV in the room started buffering, and a video appeared. Banayote's heart sank as he saw the image of his girlfriend on the screen.

"It's taking me a lot of time to look for my boyfriend," she said, her voice echoing through the room. "So I'm going to speed things up."

Suddenly, a portal began to open on the screen, and to their horror, demons started walking out, entering the human world.

Banayote's face went pale with shock. "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have run away," he muttered, guilt weighing heavily on him.

He turned to the girl and Hannah, his expression determined. "Listen, girls, I can't defeat them alone, but I have a plan."
