After receiving a talisman and a good sword from the Vice Principal, I removed the heavy armor and weapons I had taken from the school locker room, opting instead for a lightweight T-shirt armor.
Seeing me shed all the burdens from my body, the Vice Principal prepared to protect me. He positioned himself where I would be running, and when he identified the Goblin I was targeting, he promptly activated a trap talisman to hold back the remaining Goblins. This allowed the Goblin I was chasing to be pulled to the other side along with me.
...
On the other side, the Goblin that was drawn to me tried to stand, but his injured leg caused his body to tremble.
Drawing the sword from its sheath, I began using combat arts to enhance my body's basic abilities.
"I think this is enough."
I kicked off the ground and charged toward the Goblin at a speed that might be difficult for ordinary human eyes to perceive. However, since my opponent was a Hobgoblin, he might be able to see my movements. But would he be able to withstand my attack?
I filled my sword with mana, injecting fire-type magic energy into it, causing the blade to ignite in flames.
With my sword ablaze, I slashed at the Goblin's arm, but suddenly, my sword was blocked by the Goblin's muscular arm.
"Wow, look at this! He suddenly entered Berserk mode."
Seeing the Goblin go Berserk, I activated fire magic to weaken the fibers and muscles of its arm for a moment, then jumped back to create some distance between us.
I took a stabbing stance and began to employ all the combat techniques to boost my stats.
"Damage Boost, High Focus, Speed Boost, Agility Boost, Weapon Boost!"
With all those enhancements, I started to charge my sword with mana, igniting the mana inside the blade with fire energy.
'I have to finish this quickly; my mana is barely enough to keep me standing if I linger.'
I kicked off the ground to generate enough force and dashed toward the Goblin.
'Forget about weak points! Every living creature will die if I stab its heart or slash its neck.'
I wanted to slash its neck, but the stance I was using was a stabbing position, so I had to deliver a stab attack first to maximize the effect of the stance.
I plunged my sword into the Goblin's chest and shouted, "BURN!" to ignite all the mana in the sword, aiming to severely damage its heart or whatever lay inside its chest.
However, the effect was far more horrifying than I had anticipated. The Goblin appeared to be burning from the inside, and flames erupted from all the wounds in its body, creating terrifying fire explosions. I quickly ran away, drawing my sword and taking a few steps back.
'Could this be the effect of Berserk?'
Once the Goblin finally perished, the talisman's effect ceased, and we were returned to the side where the Vice Principal was standing.
...
The Vice Principal, witnessing the Hobgoblin's body burning as if it were being roasted from the inside, understood what I had done and handed me a mana recovery potion.
"Fajar, did you use magic? How did you know that the Hobgoblin's heart would react like this when burned?"
I was surprised to hear this. "I can do this if I burn its heart? I thought it happened because he was in Berserk mode."
"Hoo, so you managed to stab its heart while it was Berserk? Isn't that quite an accomplishment?"
"Forget about that! If I can do that to him, I won't need to bring one of their people to the other side for a duel. I can fight them all if you help me properly, especially by blocking the archers and mages behind. That would make it much easier for me to take down the rest."
I held out the recording toward Dimas. Upon seeing the recording in front of him, he understood and handed me the sword while picking up the weapon I had dropped earlier.
"If that's the case, wouldn't it be better for me to use dual swords?"
With newfound confidence, I prepared myself in the stance I always used during school fights, whether against fellow students or teachers. My dual sword technique had earned me the reputation of being the best student in this school.
"Octagonal Barrier: Gate of Peace!"
As I threw eight charms, an eight-sided barrier formed around me, providing enhancement and cursing the enemy. It also blinded all the Goblins wielding arrows and rendered the Goblin wizard incapable of using magic.
With all that help, I once again ignited my two swords using the same technique. The difference this time was that I could see their vital points clearly, thanks to the reinforcements Dimas and Adji had provided to the audience.
After receiving boosts from Dimas and Adji, I charged forward to engage three Goblins. With all the enhancements and the curses affecting the Goblins, fighting them became significantly easier—especially since their movements were predictable; they kept relying on basic tactics repeatedly.
While grappling with the third Goblin, I noticed a gap in one of its movements—specifically, a vulnerability that appeared at move 15 when it was closing in from the top. In that moment, its hand movement became unbalanced.
At that precise instant, I infused my sword with mana, expending all of it as I stabbed for the Goblin's heart.
As the heart ignited, the Goblin's entire body burned violently. The shocking sight caused the other Goblins to freeze momentarily, and in that brief lapse of focus, I was able to dispatch them all in less than 20 minutes.
'The dual sword technique is indeed effective, but it only appears perfect in a one-on-one scenario. The user can concentrate solely on a single enemy without having to divide their attention. However, this kid is different; whether facing three or four opponents, he manages to balance everything. He's bound to become a World Rank Awakener in the future.'
This observation was made while watching a second-grade student battle five Hobgoblins in a B-rank portal—and emerge victorious.
