Chapter 5 - Chaos and the Rescue Team

At At the Awakener Association, a few moments after the Vice Principal entered the Anomaly Portal, the customer service room was filled with noise.

*Kringggg* *Bzzztttt*

The sounds of personal phones and cell phones rang loudly, all originating from the same location. Even the emergency alarms were triggered due to the appearance of an anomaly portal at Omega Enfield Academy.

"President, I need to report something," said the secretary. The Association President lowered his pen and looked up.

"Is it about the Anomaly Portal discovered in the academy?"

The secretary, hearing the response from the Association Chairman, nodded. "Yes, sir, it's about the Anomaly Portal at Omega Enfield Academy."

"For now, we can't send reinforcements because the Portal rules are clear: it takes six hours for the portal to stabilize, or until all the people who entered have perished. Only then can we send reinforcements. Especially now that the portal is an anomaly, it could take longer—perhaps 12 to 24 hours—for it to reopen. So for now, just send Rescue Team Number 20. They may be new, but they're filled with quite talented individuals. And don't forget to bring an advanced mana detector; we need to assess the anomaly's level."

"Yes, sir, understood." The secretary took out his cell phone, called someone, and exited the Association Chairman's room.

...

*Pssttt

The sound of the wind rustling through the curtains shifted the Association President's focus.

"President, I received some detailed information before the incident occurred. According to the report, the three students clearly and firmly refused when asked to enter the portal that had appeared in their school. Even though the assessment indicated that it was only a low C-rank portal, they all declined, as if they knew what kind of portal they would be entering if they agreed."

"Is that information accurate?"

The Association President leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh.

"Three students with special status in one academy; these students work together to achieve the best grades in every subject. No matter what challenges they face, they consistently win without even trying. Of course, any group featuring the grandson of Pioneer Hengki and the son of Grand Sword Master Fahmi will easily pass all tests. This child is like an anomaly in himself. While a typical six-year-old is playing with toys, he has already learned how to use mana. By the age of seven, he reached the level of a level 4 Wizard and grasped the concept of Aura at seven and a half. Initially, many thought he was someone from another world or a regressor, but that assumption was incorrect. His Talent Core is what made him exceptional—the biggest secret of this century, He possesses a Talent Core with an SSS rank in the world, dubbed the [Master of All Trades]. However, there are many gaps in that talent; although he can do everything, he can't perfect anything. At the age of ten, he became stuck at the level of a 7th-tier 10-star Wizard and has never been able to break through the barrier to level 8 to this day. The same applies to his other abilities; his aura is stagnated at the 7th Fire level, and his skills in archery, trapping, and various other abilities have not surpassed the mastery level.

However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. This child possesses a vastly broader and more terrifying capacity for thought. He can create fire from his aura and strengthen weapons by infusing them with mana, perfectly controlling every element in the world. That kid is truly special, But his grandfather and father always remind us to be cautious of him."

"It seems like I've talked enough, huh? It must be boring. For now, change targets and follow everything that kid does, then report back to me. Ah, yes—be careful! One of his friends has a Detective Talent Core, so don't underestimate them; you could be found easily."

After saying that, the curtain moved, and the room fell silent once more.

"Master of All Trades, The Blind Jester, Idiot Joker... Who would have thought that Mr. Lovecraft's fantasy actually existed? The Idiot Blind God, Aztaroth."

Finishing the drawing he had made with the pen, the Association President set it down and closed the book. The book then burned gently, leaving not even a single ash.

...

Team 20 arrived at the academy a few hours later. The academy was deserted, with only staff, journalists, and a few teachers remaining.

"Where are the students?" asked the Team 20 Leader.

"They were sent home, and the academy is closed for two days to one week, depending on the situation," replied the journalist.

"Oh, Miss Putri, are you part of the rescue group?"

"No, that's not me. I'm just part of the group that checks the severity of the anomalous portal. The rescue team will arrive in the next six hours."

Taking out the mana detector, Putri held the tool in front of the portal and began to assess the density and amount of mana it contained.

Seeing the numbers on the monitor rise rapidly, Putri was taken aback; she hadn't expected this.

"In the first ten seconds, it exceeded 800 easily."

The other group members noted what Putri observed.

"Mana density is at 85%. It's clear that this is a high-level Anomaly Portal."

"At 20 seconds, it broke through 1477."

"The portal condition is at 98%, which means they're still alive."

"At 30 seconds, it exceeded 3787 and stopped at 3928."

"Intermediate B-level portal, with a mana density of 85%. The estimated time for the portal to reopen is 8 to 12 hours."

Team 20 finished recording the necessary data and began sending it to the Association and the government.

"You all protect the portal; I'll head to the Principal's office."

Hearing the report from Team Leader 20, all the staff, teachers, and reporters were shocked. The portal had escalated from a C-ranked dungeon and below to a middle B-ranked portal, which was clearly dangerous. The difference between C and B represented a much more terrifying reality than just a change in letters. Everyone could only pray that the students who had entered were safe and could return alive.
