Chereads / Joker: The Master of All Trade / Chapter 8 - Reincarnator (2)

Chapter 8 - Reincarnator (2)

Dimas' POV

'A lowest-ranked student who always failed every test suddenly discovered my email and requested to meet with me. He mentioned he had something to say about Fajar.'

I waited at the location specified in the email for a curly-haired man with glasses, whose physique seemed well-suited for learning all kinds of martial arts.

"So you're Kelvin. What do you want to tell me about Fajar?"

The Kelvin boy smiled suspiciously, but he didn't make any strange movements, so I remained calm and tried to assess what he might be hiding.

[Personal Information]

Name: Kelvin Pratama

Race: Human (Half High-Human)

Age: 16 (41)

Title: None (Slayer of Primordial Beings)

[Core]

Special Core: Reincarnation Core

Main Core: None

Supporting Core: None

Seeing his Special Core surprised me a little.

"It seems like you've seen what I have. Yes, that's right; I'm someone who came back from the future—a person with memories from 25 years ahead," Kelvin explained.

Upon hearing Kelvin's words, I tried to stay calm.

"So, what does a human who escaped reality want from me?"

At my response, Kelvin became angry.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!"

He scoffed.

"Back from the future? Was your original world destroyed or something? So now you want to be some kind of hero who saves the world?"

"Yes, I'm someone who wants to save people. But are you the one who caused the destruction of my previous world?"

"A top-level monster?"

I answered casually, but Kelvin's face turned red as he grabbed my collar.

"Yes, that's right! A top-level monster with the nickname 'Joker of the Blind Idiot God.' You must know who he is, right?"

Hearing that nickname, I tilted my head and thought for a moment, but I couldn't find an answer, even with my abilities.

"Hmm, no, I've never heard of that nickname. Is it a newly discovered monster? I've never come across such a name."

Kelvin appeared a little confused at my response, but he remained silent.

"You really don't know that nickname?"

I shook my head.

"Is that so? Everything must have changed little by little since I came back."

As I listened to Kelvin talking to himself, I turned around and began to leave.

"If you really don't intend to share that information, then I'll be on my way. In the end, a low-ranked individual can only talk."

Upon hearing that, I heard heavy footsteps behind me, and suddenly, Kelvin tried to strike me. I blocked his blow with both arms and retaliated by kicking him in the stomach, causing him to fall.

"You can't even fight me, yet you confidently want to defeat Fajar? You must be delusional."

With that, I left Kelvin, who was lying in pain behind the school building.

...

Back at the main academy building, I encountered Adji in the hallway. As soon as Adji saw me coming in from the entrance, he used his ability to assess my presence.

Without taking long, he seemed to discern something.

"Oh, it looks like you met someone a little unique this time. Will he be the fourth member?"

Hearing Adji's words, I scoffed.

"The fourth member? Whose team are we on?"

"You're right; from the beginning, we weren't on the same page."

"Not only do we have different goals, but we also received the same warning from the start. We just try to avoid that warning in our own ways. So, let's figure out what they are really trying to warn us about. It's a shame you can't see that right now."

"Okay, until you find the answer, we will remain in the same group."

'It seems he already knows what happened, but he doesn't want to talk to me about it—or maybe he can't.' 'Let it be; I'll find out what it is in my own way.'

Leaving Adji in the hallway, I entered the classroom.

'Team, huh? Haa, it's surprising that the weakest student in this school regressed and entered this timeline. That means the main timeline must have been destroyed at this point, leaving behind a branch from now on. The figure who gave me this Talent Core has always warned me about Dawn since the first time I met him. And once again, a regressor has come to warn me about him.'

'What crazy thing did he do in the main timeline that a higher being felt the need to warn a human like me? Also, it seems that Adji received a message from the being who gave him the Talent Core about the danger posed by Dawn. Since we exited the anomalous portal, this world has been vibrating with strange disturbances.'

' This is really driving me crazy. A regressor, Aang the Supreme Being warned me, and now the only person I used to trust is starting to change his attitude because of something he saw in the future.'

'I'm curious about what Adji saw'

In the darkness, six out of seven candles were lit. The only extinguished candle left a terrible scar on the candlestick, and a shattered pocket watch lay in front of it. The other six candles stared calmly in that moment.

"It seems that for now, we've managed to avoid the bad events that will unfold in two months on this side. But it's truly rare for that martial arts-loving old man to grant a Dantian to someone he doesn't even know," one candle remarked.

"After all, he is the same being as us; he must have sensed something interesting about the hero we saved."

"But that old man..."

The second candle, having heard the first candle's words, struck the table.

"I know, but from the start, he was the one who fought against those who came to us from the Ancient Realm. It was only natural for him to save the remnants of himself, even if it was just a hunch. He was the old man who battled those madmen alone for thousands of years, and during that time, he also gave us the opportunity to reach this point, even at the cost of sacrificing one of us."

The six candles stared at the only extinguished candle, and the fifth candle whispered something, "Master Ch—"
