Chapter 2 - B-Rank Portal (2)

In the changing room, the three of us discussed the situation.

"Ji, do you know anything about what kind of monster is inside the portal?"

Adji, who heard Dimas's question, pondered for a moment.

"Honestly, I'm not too sure about what I saw with my ability. Also, my ability isn't that detailed, but based on the characteristics, they appear to be goblins, although their height is nearly as tall as this room."

Dimas measured the height of the room with some basic calculations.

"Goblins nearly 3 meters tall? Is that really possible? Are they bosses or what?"

"No," Adji replied. "The ones I saw were more than seven goblins of the same height, but they were carrying different weapons: one goblin with a sword and shield, two goblins wielding large swords like claymores, and two with machetes, One had a bow, and the last one was carrying a magic staff and wearing a hood while casting fire-type magic."

Adji explained in detail what he had seen with his talent to the two of us.

"Are you serious?"

Dimas, hearing this, stared in disbelief. It sounded like a joke to him, and honestly, it did to me as well. A goblin using such specific equipment? It seemed absolutely insane.

"Jar, what do you think? You're the only pure fighter in this group. Even the vice principal, an S-rank Awakener, is an area support type and only has three attack abilities, two of which are trap types that must be set first."

Dimas looked at me with a pitying expression, knowing that I would be the one in trouble if we found ourselves in a difficult situation.

"It's okay, we'll do it as usual. I'll be the Vanguard, and you guys just do what you usually do."

Understanding what I meant, the two of them selected close-range and medium-range weapons to help me fight the enemy later.

Thirty-five minutes passed since the three troublemakers entered the equipment room. Students, teachers, and staff wondered why it was taking them so long to change their equipment. But when they finally saw the three students come out, the teachers who had dealt with them before quickly understood.

With a large shield and a sizable shortsword strapped to their backs, it was clear that Fajar, known as the Damage Dealer, had transformed into the Vanguard for all his friends. There must have been something they were trying to prepare for inside.

"What exactly are they avoiding? Fajar, with his impressive ability to create damage gaps against the enemy, has turned into a vanguard to protect all his friends."

The counseling teacher's words made all the teachers and staff recall what Fajar had said earlier—a statement that suggested he knew something and was trying to avoid entering the portal.

"Does he know something about this dungeon? It's unfortunate we can't check, because the portal will close after one group enters, and we have to wait until that group completes the dungeon, or waiting 24 hour until Portal Opened again, If we enter, we would definitely clear the C-rank dungeon in one day, leaving no chance for the students to gain experience."

The three students were already standing in front of the portal, and the vice principal was also preparing his equipment

"Alright, let's go in."

At the vice principal's command, the three students entered together, ready to begin their first bloody fight.

The moment the vice principal felt the mana emanating from inside the portal, he was shocked and immediately shouted to everyone on the field, "Contact the Awakener Association! This portal is an anomaly!"

After saying that, the vice principal was pulled completely into the portal, causing everyone to panic.

...

The view of the damp stone cave appeared before our eyes. I drew my weapon and prepared for whatever awaited us.

Dimas, our "leader," began giving me directions. "Jar, there's an arrow trap in front on the right, and to the left, it's two steps away."

Following Dimas's guidance, I focused on the trap hole he mentioned.

"Jar! Be careful!"

Hearing Dimas's warning, we all readied ourselves as the Goblin monster Adji had described emerged before us.

The vice principal, who should have been calm, was the most shocked among us. He didn't know what kind of monster he would face, and upon seeing it, his surprise was evident.

"A Great Hobgoblin, equipped with a specific weapon. It seems I can't just sit back; I'll help you guys."

Surya Karna Hermawan, a Talisman Master and an S-Rank Support Awakener, had the ability to enhance allies and curse enemies using his talismans.

Taking out a blank piece of paper, he began to write something on it and activated his ability. As the talisman burned completely, I felt my body grow lighter, and I noticed that the muscles in my body had expanded more than before.

"Body Strengthening, Physical Enhancement, Absolute Defense, Weapon Strengthening, Armor Strengthening, Pain Erasure, Perfect Focus," Fajar recited.

"Agility Enhancement, Vitality Enhancement, Strength Enhancement," Adji added.

"Vital Point Vision, Vital Point Focusing, One Shot, One Kill," Dimas chimed in.

As Surya listened to all the combat arts we mentioned, he understood why we were referred to as the three miracle students by most of the combat arts teachers.

'But Fajar is a Vanguard now; why did they give him that many enhancements?'

Surya, who didn't know Fajar well, would never realize that no matter what kind of weapon he wielded, he would still be the highest Damage Dealer in the group wherever he went.

Once all the enhancements were applied, I charged forward, determined to kill at least one of the seven large Goblins.

"!"

I drove my sword into the most critical vital point of the largest Goblin, bringing it down instantly.

Seeing their Vanguard killed so easily by humans, two Goblins wielding large swords charged at me.

Blocking a sword as big as my body with my shield made me break into a cold sweat.

'Damn, this is tough. After all the previous attacks, I've lost almost half of my strength.'

Seeing my struggle to hold back the Goblin attacks, Dimas and Adji immediately rushed in to help. They targeted the acupuncture points on the two Goblins' arms, freeing me from their pressure.

However, our escape route wasn't very good; the Goblin Mage behind them had finished his chant, and the Goblin Archer had already released their arrows. Just then, a dull piece of paper flew in front of us, igniting in midair and blocking the attacks from both the Goblin Mage and the Goblin Archer.

The three of us turned to see an S-level Awakener providing assistance from his position.

"Thank you," I said, and Surya, hearing my words of gratitude, smiled. We pulled back from the goblins to regain the energy we had lost.

"Fajar, don't push forward anymore; you've lost your energy, right? Let Dimas and Adji attack the Hobgoblins. Your job is to protect them with your Aggro ability. Do you have the Provoke skill? Use it to draw the enemy's attention when Adji and Dimas are about to retreat. Do you understand?"
