Ren stood still, awaiting an attack from bite, but both were patiently examining eacheach other.
There was complete silence; no one wanted to be the person who mademade the first mistake.
Ren thought to himself.
"Bite seems to be the kind of guy with a high temper; he is going togoing to lose his patience soon; it's just a matter of time before he strikes,strikes, and then I can counter."
Bite stood still.He remained still for countless minutes till he wondered to himself.
"Why am I approaching this situation carefully? I am way more experienced than he is, and even if I do rush into an attack, there is no way he could possibly take advantage of it."
Bite then dashes towards Ren.
Ren is delighted, thinking Bite is going to rush mindlessly towards him,and so he attempts to kick his midsection.
But as fast as lightning, lightning, Bite had changed his body position and was then seconds away from landing an uppercut.
"Hehe, you thought you had me, didn't you?" said Bite before landing the hit.
Bite's blow connected directly to Ren's chin and caused Ren to spit out blood.
Ren also develops a scar on his lips,which starts to bleed.
"You're bleeding, b delicious; it means I'm almost done here"
"Two for the price of one,you should have just ran away whilst you had the chance.."
Ren looked at Bite as he laughed maniacally.
Bite's laughter was loud and deep.
He laughed confidently with his mouth wide open,showcasing his fang-like teeth.
"Any normal person would have taken the chance and galloped away,but like an uneducated dog, you stayed even while knowing you stood no chance."
"Yes, any normal person would have run away,, but you see, I am not a normal person, not after what I've been through."
"Now you're just making me want towant to defeat you more. I want to see just what you've been through."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, nothing, just that I have mastered a technology that forces its victims to relive their past memories.."
Bite dashes towards Ren with his hands held out, attempting to touch his forehead and use the technique.
Ren just dodges but falls to the floor in the process of dodging.
Bite slowly walks towards Ren,Ren, saying,
"Listen, ,kiddo, it won't be painful,for me that is."
Ren thought to himself.
"No, I won't relive my past; I can't.."
Bite smiles then laughs before saying
"I can feel the pain in your heart, all the misery, such potential for power, but no fulfillment of that potential,It's sad.."
A bite presses down on Ren's foot, eliminating his ability to run.
Bite then slowly extends his hand towards the head of Ren.
Bite has his hand fully extended and in contact with Ren's forehead, and he was about to use the technique.
But just then, a sword came from nowhere, stabbing the heart of Bite.
Bite fell to the floor; that stab was critical, almost like the stab erased all forms of life from Bite's body.
The stab was from the sword of Valverde,and holding it was Valverde himself.
Valverde had recovered and, as it seemed, had just defeated Bite.
"You idiot! ,You should not have been her.
"How about a thank you for giving you time to recover?"
"Have you even mastered one killing technique or at least developed one at all?all?"
"Nah, this is actually just my second day since tapping into malice, but I do understand the basics of of using pain to enhance your abilities,right?"
"Malice is a lot more than that.that."
"It doesmatter; we won anyway."
"Yeah, but the job is not done. I've got more places to regain."
"Great, let's go."
"No, you're heading back to the safe zone."
"No, I have to find my friend."
"For goodness sake kid, how do you know he is even in Valer?"
"I can sense it; I don't know how, but I have a strong feeling that he is in this city."
Just then, Bite begins to get to his feet and thenbegins to begins to say in a muffled voice.
"Growing up was hell for me.me. Do you know why I call myself Bite? Simply put ,it was because as a kid I was continuously bullied for having long,sharp teeth, and so they teased me daily by giving me nicknames like bloodsucker, bat demon, and most commonly,Bite"
"They told me I was a vampire straight out of those legends that were told, and now in memory of those bullies, I decided to adapt the nickname they gave me; just in case you didn't guess, I was the one who killed them. them."
Bite then starts laughing maniacally. His eyes were purple, and his body emitted a strange purple aura.
Valverde warns Ren to head away from here before activating his killing technique.
"Flame Arc: Inferno Veil," Valverde screamed to activate his skill.
Valverde and Bite stood across from each other, powered-up versions of themselves.
Though Valverde did not back down, he could feel the pulses of power coming from the body of Bite.
He emitted auras of scary, powerful levels just by existing alone.
The battle field was completely filled with fruits of different kinds, but they were all of the colour black.
The fruits were all sprouting from the ground in the form of plants, some with very thorny vines and some with incredibly tall stems.
Valverde, with a swing of his sword, unleashes a range attack.
It looked like a semicircle made of fire, and it was piercing through the air, ready to burn bits to crisps.
But Bite dodges.
Valverde then takes the initiative by going on the offensive.
Valverde continuously attacked Bite with very powerful swings of his sword, each one proving deadly.
Valverde's technique was indeed a strong one, as it not only amplified his melee stacks with ranged blasts but was also a great defensive skill, as his body being covered in flames prevented anyone from attacking him without being badly burned.
Bite thought to himself:
"His whole technique was about him being invincible to melee attacks; the range amplification was nothing more than an extra detail; the fire that consumes him is charged by malice, making the fire negatively charged; and so if I create a barrier of malice around my fist, then since like charges repel, my barier and his flames would be displaced, leaving him to the mercy of my fist."
Valverde was still attacking him mercilessly and seemed to have the upper hand.
Though Ren did not want to abandon Valverde just yet, he saw that Valverde was handling things well, so he thought about continuing his search for Earn, but that is when things started to go south for Valverde.
Valverde was preparing to end things off against Bite, but one of his attacks got intercepted.
Bite had gone on with his plan, and it worked.
He had used a barrier, and it allowed him to connect a punch to the chin of Valverde.
Valverde was shocked, and sadly for him, the punches did not stop there.
Bite placed barriers on both of his fists and had started pummeling the chest of Valverde continuously without showing any sign of stopping.
Ren saw this and screamed.
"Valverde"
"Oh, you want him.How about you catch him?" said Bite before punching Valverde's lifeless body in the direction of Ren.
The body was coming at immense speed, and Ren had to avoid being hit to ensure survival.
He ran over to Valverde in sober tears.
"That's what happens when ..." Bite tries to speak but gets interrupted by the sudden wails of Ren.
Ren then starts to pour tears all over Valverde's body.
Valverde was about to die.
Bite was angry at the fact that he was interrupted, so he walked towards where his dagger was and threw it towards Ren to teach him a lesson.
Ren had no idea of the dagger coming his way, but half-dead Valverde, who was facing in the direction of where the dagger was coming from, was able to just about push Ren out of the way and take the hit.
"No, why would you do that?" screamed Ren towards Valverde.
"I was going to die at any moment, so there was no difference," said Valverde while coughing.
"Why save my life? I thought you hated me. me."
"After seeing my past memories, I
remembered that I hated bullies and yet I had become one, so I thought saving you could be like a redemption for me, but sadly, it seems like it's going to be the last thing I do, and I'm fine with that, but you have to promise me that you will take back this village and join the thunder guild one day. I wanted to do it for my brother, but obviously I won't be able to."
After saying his last words, he closed his eyes and kicked the bucket.
Bite watched all this, saw it all as entertaining, and then spoke.
"That's what happens when you mess with..."
Bite gets interrupted by a deep, muffled, and scary variant of the voice of Ren.
"Shut up," said Ren in complete rage.
Ren was born with anger and a thick red aura emitting from his body.
"You're dead," said Ren.
In the eyes of Ren, there was no more bite, but instead there was only BloodFist .
Ren grabbed the sword of Valverde from the floor and used it as his own.
Ren moved at immense speeds and easily overpowered Bite, tearing off Bite's shirt and inflicting numerous wounds.
Bite was shocked at the sudden difference in physical strength in Ren.
He thought to himself
"Rage can't possibly give him that much power unless (brief pause) I see it now. This isn't just rage; it's grief, pain, anger,
depression, and the thirst for vengeance all in one body."
Ren completely manhandled Bite and brought him down to his knees.
Ren asked Bite,
"How can one man be so evil as to kill for no reason?"
"I told you when I was a kid..."
"I know you were called a vampire; you've said that already, but that couldn't have made you this," said Ren, cutting off Bite.
But Bite said
"You're right. I do what I do because the bullies were right. I am a vampire; my entire family is. It's a curse that flows through our veins, and it makes me hungry for blood."
Bite then rushed towards Ren when his guard was down and forced Ren to remember his past.
It is revealed to Bite all over Ren's past and a particular part that shocked Bite.
After Ren Gad ran from the village, feeling remorseful, he ran back to the village but was too late.
There was only one survivor, Ren's sister, whose legs had been cut off.
They both spent numerous days in the forest, with Ren piggybacking her everywhere and promising to protect her from any pain.
Though it got to a point where they couldn't find food, his sister thought herself to be nothing but a force weighing Ren down, so she asked Ren to eat her for strength.
Ren refuses and goes to find food but returns empty-handed, and his sister has killed herself.
Realising what his sister wanted, he ate her while mourning her.
Bite, after seeing this sequence of his events, thought to himself that Ren was a monster, but before he could think anymore, a spear was thrown through his stomach by the soldiers of Valer.
The soldiers realised that Valverde wouldn't use his technique twice unless he was trouble, and they could sense his presence fading.
They saw Valverde's body and promised to give him a befitting burial.
Bite, on the other hand, was still alive, but he had used up too much malice, so he could not move and began to preach.
"As long as there is blood in my veins, I can only be killed by decapitation, and you, Ren, what a two-faced guy you are. You call me a monster when you are just as bad as me, eating your own."
Before Bite is able to finish, Ren is able to slice his head off with Valverde's sword.
He then drops the sword on the floor and breathes in and out to calm himself.
He looks at the body of Bite and no longer sees him as Bloodfist.
His entire body is depleted of its scary aura, and he looks at the soldiers, saying
"All right, let's go. We've still got a city to save."
