Chapter 8 - The burning city pt 4 - Three days of disaster

Earn Hakira was hardly able to stand.

He had lost all strength.

Everywhere on his physique were visible veins.

With his heart racing so fast, he was having trouble breathing.

All of this occurred at Valer's centenary.Earn and BloodFist were going to battle.

Earn stood there thinking to himself.

Even though Earn was in excruciating pain, Bloodfist appeared unharmed, as though they had not been fighting at all.

Earn learnt for himself "I cant keep on fighting,I'm about to lose I'm going to run out of malice soon unless ,I end things quickly"

"Shadow arc:Infinite Void" shouts Earn in desperation.

Bloodfist was lost in a nothingness at that precise instant, unable to perceive his location or anything else.

After realising that his method was effective, Earn grinned and spoke the phrase

"Shadow Arc:Piercing Darking".

Then, without warning, Bloodfist was approached by a plethora of shadow-based spikes that were travelling at breakneck speed.

But Earn's strategy had backfired. Unending Void only obscured vision and hearing.

Bloodfist was still able to detect aura, and the spikes' aura was released at insanely high amounts.

However, Bloodfist did not dodge; instead, he shattered the spikes with a unique technique.

Speaking these words activated the technique.

"Beast arc: Brute force"

The muscles and, naturally, the strength of Bloodfist suddenly increased dramatically.

The spikes were easily shattered by him as if they were regular glass fragments.

"Impeccable," Earn thought to himself.

Using the same method, Bloodfist startled Earn by shattering the whole void.

Earn was immobile from the shock, so when Bloodfist was about to deliver a hit, he didn't react to it and it landed.

The blow damaged Earn severely.

It seemed like death was now inevitable for him,he was now at the mercy of a cold hearted man with a heart as dark as could be,

but this made Earn wonder,

"How did I get to this point?"

Earn then starts to relive the past week

He arrived to Valer after travelling a considerable distance to find a nurse who could tend to Ren's wounds.

Earn had brought Ren to the town's inn to get his self-inflicted wounds bandaged.

It was a bustling town with a respectable medical system, especially in this day and age.

After visiting Valer to see how Ren was doing, Earn would leave to go home excluding Ren's fourth day in the inn.

There was an attack on the village. When Earn returned, he found Valer in disarray and decided not to get involved,he just wanted to retrieve Ren and be back on his way home.

Even yet, his intentions were altered when he learnt that the attackers were persons he knew.

These men referred to themselves as the tempestarii.

Earn realised that this would cause problems and that he now had a duty to intervene.

To ensure Ren's safety, he took him just far enough from the town to ensure his safety, but not to far that Earn couldn't find him again.

Earn believed he could put an immediate stop to this raid, but he was unaware that BloodFist was in charge of this faction of tempestarii.

Over the next three days, Earn got involved in numerous fights and tried his best to protect Valer without anybody realising he was there—at least, not the Valerians anyway.

For as long as he could he helped fight back against the tempestarii , Earn even saved the king from being assassinated and stopped several buildeings from being destroyed for a decent while anyway.

Cursed fruits started to sprout from the earth's depths as the raid continued. The black shrubs that were strewn over Valer bore those fruits.

Because of these fruits, Valer was becoming an increasingly dangerous environment that needed to be cleansed up right away.

Earn made the decision to confront the leader. It reminded him of chess, where you trap the king and force a checkmate.

He sensed that the centre of Valer had the densest concentration of "malice", and he knew right away that Bloodfist would be there.

Confronting Bloodfist though may not have been Earn's brightest idea .

Earn didn't care that he had unintentionally scratched himself on the way to Bloodfist.

He was in total belief that killing Bloodfist was the best way to prevent any future problems from arising.

Despite Bloodfist being one of the greatest assassins in the world, Earn was still far stronger than Bloodfist could have ever been.

Earn, however, was unaware of how disastrous that one scratch would be; gradually, he grew slower, blinder, and seemed generally weaker.

It was as though the poison from the thorn of the cursed fruit was gradually engulfing him until he lost all vision,His only means of awareness was to sense "malice ."

And sense malice ,he did but he was still undeniably weaker than he usually would be.

Though only slightly,Bloodfist was currently stronger .

And the poison seemed to spread more through his veins as the fight progressed.

"A healer would be really useful right about now " Earn thought.

He was devastatingly weak .

But in the present, after remembering the past week something awakened in him as he laid on the ground ready to take the fatal blow.

He rise up quickly and reminded himself that he was Earn Hakira and that losing was an impossibility for him and was the stuff of his adversaries' dreams.

Earn felt that he could not be defeated, not because he was conceited or unduly arrogant, but rather because it was a fact.

Because Earn was more gifted than anyone he had ever met in his life, everyone who knew him dreaded him, fearing him like a dreadful illness. And for good reason—he was a mysterious, unpredictable, and formidable force that shouldn't be trifled with.

But Bloodfist did not care .

Bloodfist could see that Earn was poisoned and it was just a matter of time before the poison worked its way to Earn's heart.

Bloodfist knew that it was either ,he killed Earn himself or the poison does it for him.

With a smile, Earn said , "Maybe I've been a little too easy on you."

Bloodfist grinned back and remarked, "Funny, I was thinking the same thing."

Bloodfist then cried out loud and began charging towards Earn with his "killing technique" still in effect, but it was all in vain when Earn uttered those words.

"Shadow Arc: Shadow wall"

Earn could no longer be physically touched; he was now untouchable.

The method in use allowed Earn to remain unharmed no matter what happened.

The only drawback was that he couldn't touch other people too ,but he was experienced with using this technique and understood how to combat with it .

He would deactivate when attacking and reactivate it instantly when assaulted.

Earn's strikes caused Bloodfist to incur significant damage, and he was powerless to stop it.

Earn was a clever guy; Bloodfist was unable to intercept him because of the precision with which he used his "technique."

Earn moved so quickly that it was impossible to consider intercepting.

Bloodfist considered summoning his troops to assist in the fight against Earn, but none of them were in the vicinity of the region they were in and were instead dispersed around Valer.

Bloodfist realised that all he had to do was wait; he knew that despite Earn's weakness, he still possessed more knowledge and "killing techniques" at his disposal.

All he had to do was make sure he survived Earn's constant attacks, but the longer the fight lasted, the more difficult it was to defend against Earn.

Until as Earn seemed to be preparing to take the win ,he collapsed to the ground.

Bloodfist was unsure if this was a trap or if he had actually taken down Earn .

He had to ensure that Earn was not coming back from this.

He wanted to ensure that Earn never awoke ever again.

And we'll wasn't that some endeavor.

Bloodfist spoke the words;

Plain Arc: Hardening

The hands of Bloodfist becomes harder with the nails becoming a lot more sharp.

Bloodfist was preparing to complete impair Earn.

He grabbed the lifeless body of Earn by the neck and was prepared to pluck out an eye when he heard Earn just about force out the words .

"Primordial Arc: Let there be chaos"

The whole vicinity is completely destroyed by an explosion which obliterated anything within 400 meters of it

Earn has his body literally smoking from all he had been through. He did not see Bloodfist anywhere and so believed that the bomb had taken him out.

Earn thought to himself,

"Thank goodness I used a weaker version and avoided destroying everything this time."

He grinned, believing he had prevailed, but in reality, he had lost.

Bloodfist's hardened skin had not only saved him , but he had also created a small barrier just in time.

Earn was so exhausted and convinced everything was finished that he failed to notice Bloodfist was just behind him.

And can you really blame him? He was blind and deaf, so the fact that he survived this long was truly remarkable.

However, Bloodfist had managed to approach Earn covertly, and he was going to penetrate Earn's back with his pointed claws, ending the fight.

But Earn blocked just in time and turned around while holding Bloodfist tightly in such a way that Bloodfist could not escape.

Earn smiled and said

"Sorry Dude but I've won and you're dead"
