Assassin guilds play a significant role in this universe.
If someone who tapped into malice chose to learn the associated "killing techniques,"
They were expected to enlist themselves in an assassin guild.
A rogue assassin was someone who carried out any form of assassination and even possessed a minuscule amount of expertise in any "technique",but refused to join a guild.
The regulations were straightforward: you could only employ "killing techniques" as a means of defence and nothing more, as long as you remained unassociated to any guild.
These regulations were designed to assist prevent any kind of disorder from developing in society, and even while their application was never perfect.
They generally contributed to keeping things peaceful.
The six strongest "assassin guilds" in existence were ;
"the thunder guild,"
"the dragon guild,"
"the night watch guild,"
"the tempestarii,"
"the reapers Venom," and lastly
"the serenade."
In that exact order.
Every guild upheld the assassins' code and made sure that none of their members ever behaved improperly.
With the exception of the tempestarii They worshipped chaos and storms.
They took inspiration from their gods and recreated the destruction they witnessed, believing that natural disasters were their gods attempting to communicate with them.
The tempestarii were known for negative things having committed every crime under the sun, it did not matter what it was ,be it rape, burglary, arson, or murder.
The tempestarii members were ruthless beings with wicked hearts.
The other assassin guild disattached themselves of the tempestarii and did not see the tempestarii as an assassin guild but as a cult.
Many of the tempestarii's members were slain,but the other six major assassin guilds even after the numerous tries to put an end to their miserable deeds,
It was never enough.
Non-members were unable to discover the tempestarii's hideouts, and the group's leader, known as "The eye of the storm," had never been seen before.
Not to mention that it was split up into seven distinct factions.
While not the strongest, the tempestarii members were a formidable force symbolized by their emblematic white robes.
The majority of assassins were aware of the tempestarii's white robe and knew that seeing such clothing could only indicate danger.
For this reason,Earn had decided to help defend the city of Valer as it presented an opportunity to eliminate one of the many tempestarii factions.
And currently at that moment, he had restrained Bloodfist, the faction's commander.
He was starting to think that the next hit would finish the fight for him.
However, that was untrue because a loud cry cut him off before he could use a killing technique .
"Earnnnnnn," a familiar voice exclaimed.
It was Ren's voice, and he had followed the explosion sounds in addition to having a gut feeling that Earn would be present in the center of Valer.
Ren had come all this way, and Earn was dumbfounded because that was the last thing he wanted.
Earn was so preoccupied with not wanting to get Ren into trouble that he was unaware when Bloodfist released his hold and punched him in the stomach.
Ren was vexed at that scene but not as vexed as he was when he saw Bloodfist's face.
"That's the man who destroyed the village " said Ren out loud
Earn heard this and thought to himself
"Oh no malice is predominantly powered by killing intent ,All Ren wants his revenge ,he wants to kill the man who killed his family and now he has come face to face with the man he wants to kill,this is an ideal situation for defeating Bloodfist but the aftermath might be way too deadly and not just that but Earn could get overtaken by the malice itself"
Ren looked at Bloodfist with his fist clenched and his heart pounding because of the intense anger he felt right now.
"'You were the one who vanquished my family were you not ?"
"I don't know you'll have to be more specific,I have delegated too many families in my time to remember just one in particular."
"You demon,it was not that far back ,you with your men went into a city called Aledia and burnt down everything down"
Bloodfist thinking back to the past smiles after remembering the incident Ren was speaking about.
"Oh funny enough I do remember that day exactly but my men and I killed many people and your dad was just another person in the bunch"
"HOW DARE YOU" screamed Ren asks he started to move towards Bloodfist.
Ren wanted to tear him into pieces but as he stepped close ,he remembered his dream.
More precisely he remembered the part in his dream where he died.
All of a sudden ,the anger and grief in his heart started to fade away and was getting replaced by one emotion,that emotion was fear.
Ren could not move anymore,he tried to move closer to Bloodfist but his body did not let him .
It was almost as if Ren's heart wanted to face off against Bloodfist but his brain just wanted to abscond away.
Earn thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, he was immensely astonished by what he saw.
Similar to how he had poisoned Ren into witnessing Bloodfit's when they had first met, he had anticipated that Ren's rage would kindle his hatred.
But unlike then, Ren was shivering in his boots and paralysed with panic when faced with the actual deal.
Bloodfist was also disappointed since fear had replaced Ren's once-clear and obvious wrath in his soul,He had thought that this could have been immensely intriguing and entertaining.
Ren was equally astounded at himself; he had assumed that he would "run riot" on the murderer of his family if he ever encountered him, but now he was considering running away .
It was clear to Bloodfist that Ren would not be attacking anytime soon.
And so he made the first launch into an attack,Ren just about quickly snapped out of his fear and was a able to just about dodge.
But Bloodfist was viciously continuing his attacks within rest ,he wanted to dismantle Ren's bones but Ren was a slippery one.
Earn was shocked because Ren had not even learned anything significant yet but he was still able to dodge even without malice amplifying his speed.
"Ren was talented indeed but can someone really be this talented " thought Earn
Ren's dodging began to annoy Bloodfist
"Fight you puny kid " is what Bloodfist would scream after multiple failed attempts to land a hit on Ren.
But though Ren was undamaged and was not losing,he most definitely was not winning either.
Any opportunity to land a hit that he had got was never used.
Ren kept on backing out from attacking Bloodfist.
Anytime Ren would try attack ,he would remember his death in his dream and refrain from hitting Bloodfist.
He knew Bloodfist had experience in this whereas he had just began .
As he has seen from Earn,Valverde and Bite ,people had special abilities and he had no idea what abilities Bloodfist had under his belt.
Well ,Ren was finally able to see one in action as after failing to hit Ren ,Bloodfist decided to reactivate his major killing technique.
"Beast Arc:Brute force" yelled Bloodfist enraged with frustration.
Ren was to slow to react when Bloodfist dashed towards him and therefore conceded a severe blow ,the pain was unbearable for Ren.
Earn could not just watch as Ren was being pounded flat like he was a pancake.
Earn's body though was not in a state to do anything about it .
Earn had lost all will to fight but seeing Ren get dismantled was disheartening to him and so he slowly got up to his feet.
But for Earn, getting up wasn't an easy task.
With each stride he made after standing up, the bones in his legs snapped.
Earn found it difficult to even raise his hands.
Even though he didn't really know Ren, he overcame the agony since he had grown attached to Ren, and likewise Ren had grown attached to Earn.
Earn felt the tremors on the ground but was unable to see or hear what was going on.
Earn didn't need to be a genius to figure out that this was Ren being pounded down by Bloodfist because he could feel the vibrations of a body being shattered by a much larger one.
And that's exactly what was taking place; Ren was being smashed by Bloodfist
Earn had to step in.
Earn persevered through the suffering and stood up, uttering the words.
"Shadow Arc: Spikes of Darkness "
This called forth a swarm of shadow spikes that were aimed at impaling Bloodfist.
However, Bloodfist utilised Ren as a human shield because he could sense their approach.
The spikes penetrated Ren's left shoulder.
Earn didn't realise his scheme was failing until he heard Ren yell.
"Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh"
Earn felt shivers down his spine and was filled with anguish upon hearing the scream.
When he sensed Earn's aura waning and Bloodfist's appearing to even get stronger, he realised full well that his technique had missed its target.
At that very moment, troops from Valer had been knocked unconscious and were brought to the vicinity at the mercy of members of the tempestarii.
It was all over,there was no hope left as the poison had finally reached Earn's heart and cause him to collapse.
Ren with blood spilling out from his shoulder was in immense pain when he thought to himself ""
"All I wanted was to avenge my parents But that soon as I got a chance, I ran like a chicken ,I don't deserve to live I deserve to die , And it is probably best that I do"
Ren then gave up on life and closed his eyes as he drifted apart to the world above
