"Cool!" Coolbro said before white smoke appeared before him, and he vanished into thin air.
"Hey! At least tell me what is going on." Lilly shouted after him, but no response ever came back.
She looked at the cube in her hand. It seems like solving this puzzle gave me something incredible. The woman said something about awakening; it should be about magic. Once my magic is awakened, I might be able to become strong even without serving Trash.
She felt in real time that her brain was working better than before. The pill in her hand was gone, so she must have already taken it.
She looked at Trash, who on this entire trip kept looking outside of the window, and then at Lomobert, who hugged the stewardess with one arm. I will stick as Trash's maid for now.
"We will be landing soon," the pilot announced through the speakers of the plane. Beijing, China, was their destination, and it seemed like they had finally arrived.
The plane landed without any problems, and since the incident from before had already been taken care of, the group could exit the plane without any difficulties.
While everyone else could exit the plane normally and went through security without any problems, the now-searched-for James quickly went away through the runway.
After exiting security, Lomobert came up to Lilly, "Miss Lilly, allow me to introduce you to my master. He will arrive soon to meet me."
"No, I really have to get going now. Me and Trash apparently have to go to a specific building here in Beijing to meet our master."
"You have a magic master as well?" Lomobert questioned. "Then we might have the same destination. Is the place you go to called "Magic Tower of Status"?"
"Oh, yes, it is, but we really should head there alone." "No need," an elderly voice interrupted Lilly. "Welcome to China, my new disciple. Kowtow in front of me to accept me as a master."
Lomobert was shocked since his master had appeared out of nowhere. Is this a real mage? He smiled as he kowtowed, "Disciple greets master." With this guy, a clown like Coolbro is no problem.
"Who are your little friends over here?" the master asked.
"Oh, this is Lilly, and this is Trash. They are here to find their own master."
"You already have your own master?" The master straight up ignored Trash and spoke to Lilly. "My name is Qin Xiao. I am an outer elder at the Swimming Leaf sect of magic. I see that you have potential for magic. Would you be my disciple from now on?" He directly asked.
"Ähm, no. I already have a master," Lilly answered.
"Good, very good. To reject an elder of one of the top 5 magic institutions in all of China. Your master has to be a dragon among men."
"My master is actually a woman. But thanks for the compliment, I guess." Lilly wasn't quite familiar with the Chinese or magic customs, but Qin Xiao was now laughing loudly. "Hahaha, young girl. Your master is a woman? I would like to meet your master just to see who would dare to fight me for my disciple. You are going to the Magic Tower of Status as well. I will accompany you. Let's see who your master is."
Lilly wanted to reject this weird old man, but probably had no choice but to go along until Trash spoke. "Old man, you want to take my maid as your disciple? We don't even know you go away!" Trash said. On the plane, he thought a lot about the people he had met so far and decided who to defend. The people truly important to him were G, Lilly, and James. Anyone else he didn't really care for.
"Old man?!" Qin Xiao repeated. Young one, for disrespecting me, you need to be punished. "Flying Leaf!" he directly attacked.
The wind magic in the form of a leaf flew directly at Trash, but before anyone could react, a single snowflake suddenly fell from the sky to hit the leaf and completely destroy it.
Everyone was speechless, but especially Qin Xiao and Lilly. No one else saw the snowflake, so only the 2 of them saw what happened to the attack. "That was just a warning, young Trash. Next time I will take your life."
"Oh, take my life? Where will you take it?" Trash asked confused. The attack was close to hitting him before he never felt threatened. He felt like the attack wouldn't harm him, so he wasn't surprised that it didn't. He also didn't know why that would be a warning, so he couldn't help but ask what Qin Xiao had in mind.
"You dare!" Lomobert shouted from behind. "My master showed mercy for disrespecting him. Miss Lilly, why do you willingly let this guy command you?" He looked at Lilly, questioning his existence. He wanted Lilly to bacons his wife, yet she was a slave to that imbecile? He felt incredible hatred towards Trash and wanted him to die, but his master suddenly intervened.
"Let's head to the Magic Tower of Status without them. I lost interest in them," Qin Xiao said, being somewhat wary of the man named Trash. My attack wasn't too strong, but it seems like a weird magic artifact is protecting him. I need to investigate who his master is first before taking revenge for disrespecting me.
The stunned Lomobert quickly gave Lilly all of his contact information before going away with his master.
Now it was only Lilly and Trash again, and Lilly was quite relieved. "How did you know that he wanted to take me away?" Lilly asked, surprised by how fast Trash cought on to the intentions of the old man.
"This is just like in the cultivation novels I read. I always knew China was the best place." Trash had read many cultivation novels people threw in his trashcan, and while most happened in a different world, a lot of them also took place in China. In these novels, it always seemed like China was hated by everyone else but fought through unreasonable oppression to prevail in the end. That's why Trash was really happy to finally be in China.
