G was still very interested in the type of Trash's magic, while Lilly was having a whole lot of questions in her mind.
She now knew that Trash, his "master," really came out of a trashcan and apparently had already awakened as a mage. How is that possible? How can he talk? How can he walk? How can he do anything? And most importantly, how is he even alive?
Strangely enough, all of these questions could be solved by one single answer. It has to do something with his powers as a mage. Lilly was sure that Trash could only be alive thanks to his own powers.
Is magic not just throwing fireballs and stuff? What exactly is a mage? Lilly asked herself and went up to G.
"Ähm, G, what exactly can mages do, and what is the difference between the power of different mages?" Lilly asked the still-thinking G.
"Oh, yeah, I guess I should tell you guys. You can learn some more about your element from the ice guys, but I will give you a general rundown."
"A mage is someone who can see and, to a certain degree, use the power of mana. Mana is all around us within the normal elements of earth. For example, when there is water, there is water mana; when there is fire, there is fire mana; and so on. The first step is to see the mana via awakening. After you become a mage, the better you can absorb, use, and control mana, the stronger you will become." G explained before moving on to the different stages.
"We, as humans, of course needed to put the progress of a mage into different stages, although in some cases it is possible to do something from higher stages before reaching the set stage. The beginner stages are:
Beginner: Basic control over absorbing mana into your mana core.
Apprentice: Basic control over using mana to strengthen your body.
Basic Mage: Control over using mana to strengthen your attacks and defense.
Advanced Mage: Basic control over using the mana from your element around you to attack and defend.
Master Magician: Advanced control of all aspects below.
These are the ranks you need to know for now. Basically, you first try to absorb mana, and since mana somewhat functions similar to blood, you can strengthen your body with it. Then use mana from your core to infuse your attacks with mana and, at last, control the mana within your vicinity to attack or defend.
As you may have noticed, the first 2 stages don't even include the word mage. That is the case since these people can't even perform any spells, so they aren't considered real mages.
These are all the basics of being a mage. They already call this shit at the end, master, but it is just the beginning."
Lilly listened and nodded excitedly. This is only the beginning? I can't wait to reach this point.
"Master G, can you help me start training?" Lilly asked enthusatically, not wanting to waste a second.
"No. You are not my disciple and just his maid. I need to find a way to train him before you," then she turned around and to the corner. "You! Come out! Either you or your master can train her."
As G spoke suddenly, a small layer of mist was visible before vanishing and revealing Coolbro. "Cool. He walked towards them. Congratulations for awakening, cool girl. Have you missed me? From now on, you will be trained by me and my master. It's also nice to see you cool, Trash; you have some cool magic."
"You? Why are you here?" Lilly was stunned by the man with his weird habits.
"Oh," G said. "I told him to watch over you guys. I didn't want to risk losing 2 talented people for nothing and thought your "daddy" would send some people to get you back and probably kill Trash, so he protected you from the shadows, and I guess since you already met him also openly."
"Yeah G. It wasn't cool to just sit around and watch. I wanted to be cool and show myself as a mysterious figure. Appearing and then vanishing was more cool. And I also didn't have to do much; just show a young master that he isn't cool and block an attack of his master. I even acquired a new disciple for master. Cool!"
"That idiot Coolbro is someone I knew for some time, and I also used his status to get us to this floor since not a lot of people really know me. He is one of the three leaders of the world's best ice sect, but since his nonsence about being cool, he actually has not a single disciple and is more or less an outcast in the sect, although he is the most powerful of the three leaders," G explained.
"Not cool! I am not an outcast; I just have higher standards. None of these mostly cold girls who are ice users is cool. But now I found someone cool, even cool enough to be taught by my master."
"Yes, that woman from before is his master and the most powerful ice user. She is the main reason that there are three different leaders of the ice clan, since they are all her disciples."
"And master G, what is your relationship with them?" Lilly asked, wanting to know how powerful G was compared to the already powerful clanleaders.
"I guess this guy once challenged me and lost, so now I can order him around, and the "Ice Queen" is... my friend, I guess?"
"And who is more powerful? You or my ice master?"
"I am more powerful." G just casually answered.
So I am trained by the world's strongest person regarding the ice element and serve the disciple of someone even stronger. I guess this isn't so bad. Especially considering Trash should have a lot more talent than me.
Lilly suddenly felt very good about her situation, like everything she had done was right.
"Anyways," G said. "We should exit this place for now and then start your and his training."
Meanwhile, within the 23rd floor of the tower. "Where are these stupid masked people? I wanted to teach them a lesson before starting your awakening." Master Xiao said.
Lomobert, who just wanted to awaken, said. "Master, we can catch them afterwards. Let's awaken me for now and search for Lilly, my future wife."
"Alright, disciple, to awaken, we first need to determine which element suits you. Here, take these elemental stones and tell me which feels the best."
Lomobert was about to begin his awakening.
