The mana turned into a wierd shade between black and gray and traveled towards Trash's core on its own. Yes, G had lost control over the mana of the unknown element, but the set element just acted on its own. It was like Trash was a magician already and controlled the mana himself, but it seemed like his body just knew what to do.
The mana went towards his core, and surprisingly, the first layer didn't break; instead, it seemed like the mana could be absorbed and strengthened it even further.
Is this? G was confused. G never had seen anything like it but suddenly had a weird theory. His magic core functions without destroying the first layer; his mana is the same color as the first layer. Is the element of trash the same element as the first layer, or do they just compliment each other?
It would make sense; the first layer was part of a lot of human impurities. These impurities had no particular use; it was just something that hindered mages from realizing their true potential. It is something that you could call trash.
Trash's magic core awakened, and suddenly the entire room turned dark. It was like the night had come and no moon was in sight, yet everyone in the room knew that the light wasn't natural at all, so it was more like someone had turned off the lights.
This state kept going for around five seconds before the light slowly came back and the darkness focused more and more towards Trash, who stood in the middle of the room without any particular reaction.
The darkness slowly vanished into Trash himself, and the room was completely normal again. It was Trash in a giant mountain of trash and surprised faces all around him.
G was the first one to go up to Trash. "How do you feel? Is anything different?"
But surprisingly, "no," is what Trash casually said. "I feel the same as before."
"But you should be awakened now; can't you feel the mana in the air and within your own body?"
"Yes, I can, but I already could before. There is nothing new."
"You could already do it?"
"Yes, of course, otherwise I wouldn't see how bad the auction stuff looked," Trash responded. How else would he be able to tell if something was bad?
"So you already did? Does that mean...? Does that mean you were already awakened?" G asked, still in shock of Trash's situation.
"I don't know. I guess so."
"But then why do you have such a negative reaction to the mana all around you? Shouldn't you want to absorb it?"
"Well, I tried to do that. But first of all, this "mana," or what you call it, always gave me a bad feeling, and I accidentally absorbed some, and it turned out very bad. I had pain all over my body and felt like I was close to dying. This process lasted for one hour, and after that, the pain was gone, and I don't know what happened to the mana. Maybe I absorbed it; maybe I destroyed it. At the time I was ten years old and never did that mistake again," Trash explained.
"What about the pure mana I injected into you? Why didn't you say something about it if you hate all mana?"
"Well, I didn't feel anything bad coming from it, so I just let it enter me. You are my master, so I trust you. And this neutral or pure mana was nice to absorb."
"Ok, so you were already awakened. All kinds of mana except pure mana are probably bad for you. Ähm, yes, since when were you able to sense mana?"
"I don't know. Ever since I can remember, I guess," Trash said.
"Since you were born? Does that mean you were born as a magician? What is going on?" I never heard of anyone like Trash before. He was born as a mage, but absorbing elemental mana would be painful for him. Almost all of the natural occurring mana was elemental. Pure mana was something very few mages could produce and was over all very rare. If Trash can only absorb pure mana, does that mean I need to continuously feed him?
"So you were awakened since you were born; did you discover anything you could do with your powers?"
"No, I just absorbed some pure mana, but I had no idea what that would do. I can't do anything else."
"How did you come across pure mana?"
"No idea, but there was some from time to time, and I absorbed it. It was a lot less than what you injected into me just now, but every time I did, if there was light, it turned out for a bit just like now, so I wasn't surprised by it happening now."
So every time he absorbs something, the lights turn out? Is that some kind of power? G was confused.
"Well, this is what I know. So how will you train me, master?" Trash asked. He was excited to learn more about himself.
"Ähm..." G pondered for a bit before smirking with a devilish grin. "There will be a lot of experiments going on with you, and the first one will be. Absorbing elemntal mana. I need to see what happens to you as you absorb it. Good luck!"
Trash was truly a weird case, and G had no concrete ideas as to what to do with him. He seemed like a complete annomaly, and G had nothing to train him with if she couldn't figure out how his body worked. That's why she would be conducting a lot of tests with Trash for now.
It would probably be very painful for Trash, and a lot of things would go wrong, but in the back of her mind, G was 100% sure that after she figured out how Trash worked, he would be beyond any talent she had ever seen. Someone awakening at 10 was unheard of, since the body of a child would break down while absorbing mana. Trash, on the other hand, was awakened for as long as he could remember.
Everything seemed like G just needed to know one thing. What exactly is the element of trash?
