Chapter 2: The Call of the Sea
After two years of intense training under the watchful eye of Grandfather Taro, Sergio D. Arthur was ready. His body had grown stronger, his mind sharper, and his resolve unbreakable. Now nineteen, Arthur stood at the shore, the vast sea before him, a borrowed boat bobbing gently on the waves.
The memories of his past life, combined with the rigorous training and the inherited abilities of the D clan, had forged him into a formidable warrior. It was time to leave the safety of his hidden island and set sail into the unpredictable world beyond.
As he prepared to embark, a sudden notification sound echoed in his mind. Arthur froze, confused, before a voice resonated within his consciousness.
"Welcome to the Strongest Pirate System," it announced. "You have been chosen as a candidate to become the world's strongest pirate. As a novice gift, you will receive a supreme sword and A-level swordsmanship knowledge."
Arthur's heart raced. He had read about systems in novels, but experiencing one firsthand was surreal. He closed his eyes, focusing on the voice.
"Claim your novice gift pack," it continued.
With a mental command, Arthur accepted. In an instant, a brilliant light materialized before him, revealing a magnificent sword. Its blade shimmered with an otherworldly glow, and its hilt bore intricate carvings of ancient symbols.
"This is *Tyrfing*, one of the twelve Supreme Grade swords," the system explained. "It embodies the power of the ancient god Tyr, known for his unmatched strength and courage."
Arthur grasped the sword, feeling its weight and balance. It was perfect, as if it had been crafted for his hand alone. At the same time, a flood of information surged into his mind—A-level swordsmanship knowledge. Techniques and strategies that once took years to master now seemed second nature.
Arthur swung Tyrfing experimentally, slicing through the air with precision and grace. The power coursing through him was exhilarating.
"Your current swordsmanship level is A," the system stated. "With dedication and experience, you can ascend to higher levels, achieving mastery akin to legends like Gol D. Roger and Dracule Mihawk."
Arthur sheathed Tyrfing, determination blazing in his eyes. He now had the means to pursue his dreams and carve his path in the Great Pirate Era. Climbing into the boat, he cast off from the shore, the island that had been his home growing smaller behind him.
As he navigated the open sea, Arthur reflected on his goals. He would gather a loyal crew, seek out powerful allies, and challenge the mightiest foes. With his knowledge of the One Piece world and the advantages granted by the system, he had the potential to reshape the future.
Days passed as Arthur sailed, honing his skills and studying the map Grandfather Taro had given him. One evening, as the sun set in a blaze of orange and red, a ship appeared on the horizon. It bore the flag of a pirate crew, and Arthur's heart quickened with anticipation.
"Time to test my new abilities," he thought, gripping Tyrfing's hilt.
The pirate ship drew closer, and Arthur prepared to face his first real challenge. With a deep breath, he steadied himself, ready to prove his worth and take the first step towards becoming the strongest pirate the world had ever seen.
