Chapter 8: The Dark Past of Rei D. Hiroshi

As they prepared to leave Shimotsuki Village, Arthur and Alex sat with Hiroshi to learn more about his past. The night was calm, and the fire crackled gently as Hiroshi began his story.

"I was born on a small island in the West Blue," Hiroshi began. "My parents were merchants, and we traveled from island to island. Life was simple and happy. But that changed when I was four."

Hiroshi's eyes darkened with the memory. "We were docked at an island controlled by the Celestial Dragons. One day, they visited our ship, looking for slaves. My parents tried to protect me, but the Celestial Dragons were merciless. They killed my parents right before my eyes."

He paused, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "I managed to escape, hiding in a barrel that was loaded onto a different ship. When the ship docked at Shimotsuki Village, the villagers found me and took me in. I was alone and scared, with nothing but the clothes on my back."

"Life here wasn't easy at first," Hiroshi continued. "The other children mocked me for being weak and different. I was determined to prove them wrong, so I started training. I practiced day and night, learning from anyone who would teach me. Master Yasuo took me under his wing, and I learned the art of the sword."

Arthur listened intently, admiration growing for the young man's resilience. "You've been through so much, Hiroshi. But you've come out stronger because of it."

Hiroshi nodded, a faint smile on his lips. "I've learned that strength isn't just about physical power. It's about the will to keep fighting, no matter what. I want to use my strength to protect others, so they don't have to go through what I did."

Arthur placed a hand on Hiroshi's shoulder. "You have a good heart, Hiroshi. With your skills and determination, you'll be a valuable member of the Silverhair Pirates. Together, we'll make sure the world knows our names."

Hiroshi's eyes shone with determination. "Thank you, Captain. I won't let you down."
