Chapter 11: A Visit to Windmill Village
As the Silverhair Pirates' ship docked at the shores of Windmill Village, Alex turned to Arthur with a curious expression. "Captain, what's our purpose for visiting here?"
Arthur gazed thoughtfully at the quaint village before them. "This place will be the birthplace of an influential leader who will shake the world in the near future. In the Sea Calendar year 14, a young individual will start their journey at the age of 17. This person will change the world as we know it."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "A leader born here? That sounds like someone worth knowing about. So, what exactly are we going to do here?"
Arthur smiled. "For now, we'll gather information, make some connections, and learn about the current state of the world. It's always good to know what's happening around us."
They walked down the streets of Windmill Village, the locals casting curious glances at the newcomers. The village was peaceful, with children playing and villagers going about their daily routines. The crew eventually made their way to the iconic tavern at the heart of the village.
Inside the tavern, they found a cozy, bustling environment. Arthur led the way to a table, and they ordered some wine. As they waited, Arthur struck up a conversation with the tavern owner.
"Excuse me," Arthur began, "we've heard of a person named Dadan. Where might we find her?"
The tavern owner, a friendly middle-aged man, smiled. "Dadan? You'll find her behind the mountain. She's the leader of a group of mountain bandits."
Arthur nodded appreciatively. "Thank you. And what's been happening in the world lately? Any interesting news?"
The tavern owner's eyes lit up. "Well, there's always something happening. Pirates are becoming more active, especially after the death of Gol D. Roger. The Marines are stepping up their efforts to control the seas. And there are rumors of new pirate crews rising to power."
Arthur listened intently, absorbing the information. After some more small talk and finishing their wine, the crew thanked the owner and left the tavern.
They made their way towards the back of the mountain, following the directions given to them. As they approached, Arthur noticed two young individuals practicing their combat skills under the watchful eye of a tall, imposing man with a mustache. The man, Vice Admiral Garp, was known throughout the seas for his strength and unwavering sense of justice.
Arthur's heart skipped a beat as he recognized the young duo. "Leif and Kyra," he whispered to himself.
Leif, a boy with a determined look on his face, and Kyra, a girl with intense green eyes and long, raven-black hair, were deeply focused on their training. Garp was guiding them, ensuring their techniques were precise.
Garp noticed Arthur and his crew and stood protectively in front of Leif and Kyra. "Who are you?" he demanded.
Arthur smiled gently. "Just travelers passing through. My name is Sergio D. Arthur. And you must be Vice Admiral Garp."
Garp narrowed his eyes but nodded. "Yeah, and these are my protégés, Leif and Kyra. They're training to become Navy officers."
Kyra, curious about the newcomers, took a step forward. "Hi!"
Arthur crouched down to their level. "Nice to meet you both. You know, one day you're going to be great vice admirals."
Leif looked skeptical. "Vice admirals? Us?"
Arthur nodded. "Yes, you have a bright future ahead of you. Keep training and protect each other."
Leif seemed to consider this, then shrugged. "We will."
Arthur stood up, giving them a final nod. "Take care, both of you."
As they walked back to the ship, Alex glanced at Arthur. "So, those were the future leaders you mentioned?"
Arthur smiled. "Yes, and they'll play crucial roles in the world's future."
Back on the ship, the crew prepared to set sail once more. The visit to Windmill Village had been brief but meaningful, giving Arthur a glimpse of the future legends in their earliest days.
As they set sail, Arthur opened his system panel to check his status once more, pondering their next move. The information he had gathered and the sights he had seen reinforced his determination to shape the future alongside his growing crew.
