Chapter 7: The Swordman's Resolve

The Silverhair Pirates had been sailing for five weeks since their victory at the G6 Marine base. During this time, Arthur and Alex honed their skills and prepared for future challenges. One afternoon, as Alex was training on deck, he noticed a piece of paper floating towards him. He snatched it from the air and unfolded it, revealing his bounty poster: 60 million berries.

"Looks like I'm officially a wanted man," Alex said, smirking as he showed the poster to Arthur.

Arthur chuckled. "Welcome to the club. Let's make sure we live up to those numbers."

The ship soon approached the shores of Shimotsuki Village, a quiet place known for its skilled swordsmen. As they docked and disembarked, Arthur and Alex made their way towards a well-known dojo, renowned for its teachings and discipline.

The dojo was a simple yet well-maintained building. As they approached, they saw children practicing swordsmanship under the guidance of a skilled swordsman. Despite his thin and frail appearance, his sword handling was exceptional. Arthur and Alex watched him with interest.

Arthur stepped forward, catching the attention of the swordsman. "Your technique is impressive," Arthur remarked.

The swordsman nodded politely. "Thank you. I strive to improve every day."

Before they could converse further, an older man emerged from the dojo, a dignified air about him. He was the hall master, Samosuke Yasuo. Beside him stood a young man around seventeen years old, who introduced himself as Koushirou, the future master of Zoro.

"Welcome to our dojo," Yasuo said respectfully. "I know you are a pirate, Sergio D. Arthur. May I ask the purpose of your visit?"

Arthur inclined his head. "I'm looking for skilled individuals to join my crew. I couldn't help but notice the young man practicing outside. His swordsmanship is remarkable."

Yasuo's eyes softened as he glanced towards the swordsman. "That young man is Rei D. Hiroshi. He has endured much in his life, yet he remains dedicated to his training."

Arthur's curiosity was piqued. "Tell me more about him."

Yasuo sighed and nodded. "Hiroshi was left here when he was just four years old. He was found on a merchant ship that docked at our village. His parents were killed by Celestial Dragons, and he barely escaped with his life. He carries scars not only on his body but also in his heart."

Yasuo continued, his voice tinged with sorrow. "Hiroshi was mocked and ridiculed by others for being weak and different. But he never gave up. He trained harder than anyone else, determined to become stronger and protect those who cannot protect themselves."

Arthur's resolve hardened. He saw potential in Hiroshi, not just as a swordsman but as a person who could contribute significantly to his crew. He approached Hiroshi, who was still practicing outside.

"Hiroshi," Arthur called, catching the young man's attention. "I am Sergio D. Arthur, captain of the Silverhair Pirates. I see great potential in you. How would you like to join my crew and see the world beyond this village?"

Hiroshi paused, his eyes wide with surprise. "Join your crew? But I'm not strong enough…"

Arthur smiled, pulling out a small vial from his pocket. "This is a Strengthening Pill. It will increase your physical abilities fivefold. With your skill and this boost, you can become a formidable swordsman."

Hiroshi looked at the vial, then at Arthur. "Why would you choose me?"

"Because I see your dedication and spirit," Arthur replied. "You have the will to become great. Let me help you realize that potential."

Hiroshi hesitated for a moment, then nodded, determination shining in his eyes. "I'll do it. I'll join you and become strong enough to protect others."

Arthur handed him the pill, watching as Hiroshi swallowed it. Almost immediately, a change came over him. His posture straightened, his muscles defined, and an aura of strength surrounded him.

"Welcome to the crew, Hiroshi," Arthur said warmly.
