Chapter 19 - reply

Zeki, maintaining his calm and controlled demeanor, stepped forward, directing his gaze toward the snake leader. He spoke with a firm but non-aggressive voice, as if trying to solve a puzzle.

Zeki (calm): "It's interesting to see you here, so far from the city. This raises some questions. How did you manage to get past the walls and defenses? And more importantly, what exactly do you want with these attacks?"

The snake leader observed Zeki with piercing eyes, her movements smooth but filled with contained tension. She responded in a hissing tone, full of disdain.

**Snake Leader (hissing and evasive):** "Do you think we care to answer a human's questions? Our intentions and methods are none of your business."

Zeki maintained his composure, ignoring the snake's provocation.

Zeki (questioning): "It's clear you have a plan. An invasion like this doesn't happen without a goal. Destroy the city? Expel the humans? Or is there something else you're after?"

The snake, realizing Zeki's attempt to extract information, narrowed her eyes.

**Snake Leader (arrogant):** "You are clever, human, but also insolent. Don't think I'll reveal our plans so easily, and we don't need to explain ourselves to anyone."

Zeki, still calm, continued with his line of questioning.

Zeki (provoking): "If you don't intend to answer, we can only assume you're here to dominate or destroy. But that would be a rather straightforward and... primitive approach, wouldn't it?"

The snake leader, visibly irritated by Zeki's attempt to uncover her plans, raised her head even higher.

**Snake Leader (threatening and cold):** "Be careful with your words, human. Curiosity has killed more than just the cat. This place will be your grave if you continue to provoke."

Isadora, who had remained silent during the exchange between Zeki and the snake leader, watched with a mixture of disdain and curiosity. She was impressed by Zeki's calmness and intelligence in handling the situation despite the evident tension.

Isadora (thinking): "This guy really knows how to keep his composure. He's not just strong but also very intelligent. When I first saw him, I thought he was foolish for hanging out with Gustavo and having red hair, but I guess I was wrong."

As the conversation continued, Zeki noticed something strange. He quickly scanned the area, realizing that the three-eyed monster was still in place, but the spider... the spider had disappeared. A quick thought crossed his mind.

Zeki (thinking): "The spider is gone... but I feel it's moving. It must be preparing for a stealth attack."

Without wasting time, Zeki acted. He quickly focused his energy and launched a burst toward the spot where he suspected the spider was.

The spider, which had silently positioned itself behind Isadora, ready to attack, was caught off guard. Zeki's burst hit it, causing it to leap and reveal its position.

Spider (annoyed and instinctive): "Damn! I was so close!"

Isadora quickly turned around, realizing the spider's presence right behind her.

**Isadora (surprised):** "Damn, I got careless and distracted, this thing was almost on me! Good job, Zeki. But next time, I won't lower my guard."

The spider, furious at being discovered, instinctively prepared to launch an attack with its legs and venomous fangs.

**Spider (threatening):** "I should have gotten rid of you that night, human, but I'll make sure you die today. Prey always gets caught by the spider, sooner or later."

Isadora, now aware of the imminent danger, assumed a defensive stance, ready to combat the spider. The snake leader and the three-eyed monster watched the scene, ready to exploit any opening in the battle. The tension in the clearing increased even more, with everyone aware that the confrontation had reached a critical point.

Zeki, maintaining his usual calm, observed the situation unfold. He noticed that Isadora was determined to face the spider, especially after the surprise attack. With a slight sigh, he accepted the inevitability of the confrontation.

Zeki (calm): "It seems there's no other choice. Isadora, it looks like you're eager to deal with the spider. Be careful."

Isadora gave Zeki a confident look, with a slight arrogant smile on her face.

Isadora (determined): "Leave it to me, Zeki. This spider will pay for trying to catch me off guard. This will end quickly, and by the way, if I can't handle them, leave these three to me."

Zeki (calm): "I see you're excited, Isadora, but don't worry about that possibility."

As Isadora prepared to face the spider, Zeki turned his gaze to the snake leader and the three-eyed monster. He began to move toward them, with firm and controlled steps, maintaining his relaxed but alert posture.

Zeki (calm, speaking to the snake leader and the three-eyed monster): "While Isadora has fun with the spider, it seems I'll have to deal with you two. So if you have something to say, you better say it now."

The snake leader watched Zeki approach, maintaining her cold and calculating expression. The three-eyed monster, although cautious, was clearly prepared for the upcoming fight. The atmosphere became even more charged, with everyone ready for the imminent confrontation.

Then an explosion occurred in the forest. Zeki decided to use this advantage against the snake leader and the three-eyed monster. He lifted into the air, seeking a strategic position as the battle continued intensely.

Zeki (thinking): "I don't know what abilities these two have, so I'll stay more on the defensive."

The snake leader, realizing that Zeki was preparing for an attack, rose and began to emit a dense cloud of venom. Her scales became even more radiant and hardened as if preparing for a physical assault.

**Snake Leader (threatening):** "You won't escape my venom, human. And when you're weakened, I'll finish you."

Simultaneously, the three-eyed monster focused its gaze on Zeki. Its eyes began to glow, preparing to shoot homing lasers.

**Three-Eyed Monster (focused):** "We don't care if you fly, but you won't escape my lasers."

Zeki concentrated deeply. Then, he extended his hands and used his psychic powers to create a powerful barrier around him. The barrier not only protected him but also began to push the venomous mist away, dispersing it into the air.

Zeki (calm and determined): "Is this serious?"

With a swift movement, Zeki used his psychic powers to manipulate the environment around him. He focused his energy on a specific point and, with a gesture, launched a wave of psychic force toward the three-eyed monster, aiming to destabilize it and interrupt its laser attack.

The three-eyed monster, caught off guard, was thrown back, its lasers firing erratically into the sky. Taking advantage of the moment, Zeki focused his attention on the snake leader. He used his telekinesis to manipulate the air around her, creating a pressure point.

Zeki (intense): "Your scales are quite resistant; it seems I'll have to use more power."

The snake leader struggled against the increasing pressure, but it was evident that she was having difficulty maintaining her defense. The three-eyed monster, recovering from the psychic attack, tried to retaliate, but Zeki was prepared. He launched psychic spheres toward it, hitting it, then refocused on the snake leader.

Zeki (calm but with intensity): "You won't get past me. Now, answer: how did you get past the defenses and the walls?"

The snake leader, struggling against the psychic pressure, only hissed in response, refusing to reveal any information.

**Snake Leader (defiant):** "You can press me all you want, human. I won't reveal anything."

**Three-Eyed Monster (alert):** "We're here for a purpose, and you won't stop us. But I wouldn't count too much on that confidence, human."

Zeki (thinking): "Wait, isn't it injured?"
