Oliver knocked on Dylan's door after he changed his clothes and retrieved his lute. He smiled at his younger brother and watched as the boy walked out to the hall.
"Are you ready to play for an audience today?"
"N-Not really," Dylan stammered, clutching his flute nervously. "I've not played in front of anyone but you and the king."
"It'll be fine," Oliver smiled, his ears wiggling with excitement. "It's scary at first, but focusing on the music helps. Shut your eyes and immerse yourself in the melody."
Dylan nodded. "I'll try my best."
The pair walked through the palace, then left to join the crowd in the central plaza of the upper quarters. A large number of people had gathered to see the King and the future Queen.
The occasion was filled with excitement.
