Chapter 4 - chapter 4

Red Kelvan.

I watched as her face switched from surprise to confusion when her father announced our wedding, then hostility filled her chubby face. I don't know who she directed it to, between me and her father, so I assumed both. I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect this. We don't have a good past anyway. Nevertheless, when she first saw me at her house, I expected her to know what was going on. I guess she is still clueless like she was in the past. But I didn't expect her to deny it right here.

"I won't marry him," her voice came agitated and frightening. You can't blame her. That was my first reaction too, but swearing that she won't marry me won't help at all. There is no escape. My frightened mother turned to my future in-laws.

"What does she mean?didn't she know about the wedding?"By her hurt expression,I could see that my mother already liked chubby.

"Well. I planned to surprise her, "her father explained. I didn't miss the hateful side eye chubby shot at him.

"What a surprise? Isn't this horrific instead?" She snapped, taking everyone by surprise. I didn't know this side of her. She was always a strong girl, yet being fierce was on the other level. I smirked, liking this new side of her.

"You invited me here just to tell me that I would marry a guy I barely knew. Isn't that too generous of you, dad? " her sarcastic voice pierced my mind, and for a second, I thought it was sexy.

Wait, did she just say she barely knew me? The nerve of this girl.

Just then, her father smacked his hand on the table. I noticed her flinch for a moment before she composed herself again.

"Enough," he snapped. " How dare you question my decision. I'm doing this for your own good. "

"For my own good?" She sneered. "How is marrying me off against my will, for my own good?" She snapped back. I'd have sat and enjoyed the melodrama before me. However, the old man's face was darking, and that was not a good sign at all.

"Excuse me. Can I have a word with Miss Walters?" I intervened. Everyone stared at me like I was their lifetime saviour except one person, of course. She stared at me like she wanted to tear me apart. Like I cared hum! I almost rolled my eyes before I turned to her father. "If you agree, sir," I requested politely. The father glanced at his stubborn daughter and nodded in agreement. I could see her fuming in anger from the corner of my eye, and a smile crept on my lips. Her aunt, who looked like she would cry anytime soon, urged, with pleading soft gaze.

"Fine. What do you have to say?" She fumed, instinctively flapping her hair backwards.

Cool.

"In private," I emphasised. My brother, who was tongue tied since the whole drama started, nagged beside me.

"What do you think? Don't you see that sister in law is agitated?" He whispered. I smiled at the word sister in law.

"Okay," this way, Mr Kelvan. She snorted and stood, leading the way to what seemed like a library. She opened the door and beckoned me to enter.

"You first," l offered. She entered, and I followed behind.

"Now say what you have to say." her expression was intimidating, but who am I? I'm Red Kelvan. Not everyone can intimidate me.

"I see you have changed a lot," I smirked, looking around the library. I was deliberately pissing her off.

"We are not here to talk about that," she retorted.

"Yet still lack sense of humour," I teased, turning back to face her. She bit her lower lip as if restraining herself from saying something.

"Straight to the point, Mr.," she nagged. She was getting impatient, and that's all I needed. I want her to take back her words when she said she barely knew me.

"Shouldn't you be asking me how I've been?or should I say I missed you?" I sneered, taking a few steps toward her. She sneered back and crossed arms over her chest.

"What do you want, Red?" She demanded in an authoritative tone.

"That's it." I clapped my hand mockingly, moving even closer. "Why did you have to give me headache by pretending to not know me. You really hurt my pride there, sweetheart, " I added, feining a hurt expression. She sighed.

"Don't you ever know when to stop? Do you want us to sit over and narrate what happened between us,over chips and ketchup, and laugh like idiots, cause I'm not in for that game, red? " she erupted. This time, I was the one to get angry. Instead of answering, I pulled her by arm and pinned her on the wall.

"Well, it might take hours, but I have a whole day." I smirked into her ears. She struggled with my grip. However, I was too strong for her.

"Now, tell me, sweetheart, you are not happy to see me, right? Yet you have to marry me either way. " The sooner she gets this into her mind, the better.

"I'll not marry a maniac like you," she mocked. I chuckled and removed hair from her face, tugging it behind her ear.

"Don't you get it,chubby? Your opinion doesn't count in this matter. " her big eyes were already drilling holes through me.

"I'm not a teenager. I can decide for myself. "

"Tsi,tsi, tsi." I mockingly shook my head.

"That's not how it's done, darling. Hate me or not, you are going to marry me, " I returned to my serious self. Her throwing tantrums wasn't going to make any difference, and she had caused enough chaos.

"Over my..." I quickly covered her mouth with my free hand.

"Never swear on things you are not sure of. Beside, I'd not like to marry a dead body too. " her eyes widened. I guess she was taken aback by my answer. She bit my hand hard, which made me flinch and eased my grip on her. She took the advantage and free away.

"I have a right to choose," she bristled, standing as far as she could.

"Oh, you do. The deal was me marrying the daughter from this family so as long as we get a bride, it doesn't matter who it is" she stared at me confused by my words before she realized what I meant.

"No, you can't do that," she threatened. I chuckled and approached her.

"Now the choice is yours," I smiled as I left the room. This time, I won.
