Anthony hesitated, glancing back at the house where Claire was sitting. "Nathan, this isn't something I can decide on so quickly. I need more time."
"More time?" Nathan's voice sharpened, the friendliness fading. "You've had plenty of time, Anthony. I need an answer by the end of the day. You're either in or you're out."
Anthony's mind raced. He knew Nathan was involved in some shady deals, things Anthony didn't want to be part of. But Nathan was more than just a business partner—he was the reason many of Anthony's biggest clients had come on board. Saying no to Nathan might mean losing those clients, losing everything he'd worked for.
"Alright," Anthony said slowly, feeling the weight of the decision pressing down on him. "I'll give you an answer by the end of the day."
"Good," Nathan replied, his voice cold now. "Don't keep me waiting."
