Before he could think too much about it, Anthony found himself typing a reply:
"Hey, Megan. I've been thinking about our conversation too. Let's meet and talk things through. How about later today?"
He hit send and immediately regretted it, but the decision was made. Now all he could do was wait for her response, the anxiety gnawing at him with every passing minute.
His mind raced as he stared at his phone, waiting for it to buzz with a reply. Should he tell Claire about this? Would it be better to come clean now, to avoid the risk of her finding out later? But what would he even say? That he was meeting up with another woman who he couldn't stop thinking about, even though he was trying to work things out with her? It sounded ridiculous, even to him.
