Chapter 9 - First date 3.

Daniel watched Ariel with a wild grin on his face, he enjoyed teasing her the most; it was hell lot of fun.

"Tell me Ariel why do you think non existence boys are better than one in real life?" Daniel was getting interested in her way of thinking and couldn't help but pry.

"Well I don't know what it feels like to have that feeling y'all call love for another gender romantically, but I have seen people who have gotten heart broken repeatedly. I have seen boys pick another girl over my friends and watched them suck for months. Why on earth would I want to be in their shoes?! I just feel like having a fictional crush is far more better because I get to write my story, I can do whatever the hell I want and create my own happy ending without anyone's opinion. It is better that way. Am not saying I haven't had a crush on someone before though; I did when I was in middle school and tried my best to get this guy attention but he was out of my league I guess, he ended up with this hot girl at school and they always flaunted their affection in public. Dear lord it was hell for me; it took me a while to get over it and I swore never to have feelings again. I didn't want to put my self in a vulnerable position ever again; I always want to have the upper hand." Ariel pointed out almost a hundred reasons she didn't want to get feelings for anyone.

Daniel looked at her with amusement, it took him everything in him not to throw back his head laughing.

Did she really think she could escape from the hands of heartbreak? That was crazy.

"So you love having the upper hand?" Daniel asked with a smile.

"Yes Daniel. That's why I prefer imaginary guys. I'm the owner of my imagination so therefore I have control." Ariel smiled proudly.

"Ariel you know you can't escape heartbreak as long as you live right? Is a fact. And you escaping real life by hiding in your imaginary world is all bull shit. No offence but you have to challenge yourself, life is short so why not make the most of it why you can?"

"Am challenging my self already. That's why am on this date, and no one has the perfect looks of my dream guy." Ariel stated with a matter-of-fact look on her face.

"So am not fit enough to play the role of your dream guy?" Daniel asked clinging unto his chest as if he was hurt.

Ariel laughed at his silliness, he was easy to communicate with.

"Well I can give it a try considering the fact that you ain't that bad." Ariel said smugly.

"So your cool with me being your dream guy? You know I can take away the space you have kept for your imaginary boyfriend?"

"You have to earn it, work hard for it." She smiled challengingly.

"I love a good challenge, I will take you up on it."

They was a knock on the door and after affirmation the waiters came in with different kind of dishes, Ariel didn't even bother to hide the excitement in her as she watched the sweet dishes arrive.

"You really are a fan of food." Daniel pointed his observation with a smile. He loved the fact that she wasn't being fake at all, that was a huge plus.

This was only the first date they went on and she was this free. She wasn't acting fake at all. It gave him a good impression.

"Thanks for the observation mister Daniel, I am a fan of food but the story gets funny here, although I love food I don't eat a lot."

"No wonder you haven't gained any weight."

"What can i say? Am just naturally blessed by the heavens." Ariel replied with a wide grin.

"And I was fortunately blessed by the heavens to meet a princess like you." Daniel grinned at her.
