"Screw you Daniel!" Ariel angrily cursed at Daniel while glaring.
Daniel laughed heartily at her curses, he found it cute.
"So, tell me mermaid Ariel, how did you feel when Jessica always talks about her boyfriends while you had none?" Daniel asked curiously.
"Was I supposed to feel something? At the end of the day, didn't they always end up breaking up? Then when they do, we're both single again. So I feel like it's waste of emotions, nothing really last long." She shrugged.
"Do you know what I like about you?"
"What?" Ariel curiously asked
"You are a very optimistic person. You make reasons not to make yourself feel bad and that's good."
"I have always believed no one but myself could make me happy. Why would anyone put there happiness on a certain person? Everyone comes and go, no matter how much they loved you. Why not learn to make yourself happy while you can?"
"Your a smart girl Ariel." Daniel complimented with a smile.
"I know." Ariel replied with a smug look on her face.
Daniel chucked at her behaviour, he found most of what she did cute.
"How about a night walk?" He asked politely not wanting the night to end so soon.
"I ate a lot, so I would as well accept this offer and digest this baby in my stomach." Ariel giggled while rubbing her stomach.
"Do you like it here?" He asked casually.
"I do, Who wouldn't? why did you ask?"
"You would come here with me next time won't you?" Daniel asked hopefully.
"I would."
"Great. Now let's go." Daniel walked up to her slowly and placed her hands in his. They walked hand in hand out of the restaurant. When they passed by the receptionist, she greeted politely as she tried her best to hide how nervous she was. She really had never been on duty when Daniel came in with his dates.
She heard he usually comes around with different pretty ladies most of them being blondes. Looking at there existing backs, she discovered this new girl wasn't a blonde. Maybe he changed his taste and wanted to try out something new. She giggled at her thoughts.
Ariel not knowing what the receptionist was thinking walked slowly with Daniel in the cold night, the town was busy as some people day began at night.
She glanced at the hunk walking beside her and a small smile crept unto her face. He was hot, that wasn't up for argument but she felt like it was all an illusion. Didn't the female leads go through a lot or have ups and down before a happy ending? She really wasn't that delusional to think happiness was this easy. Here was Daniel telling her about her being optimistic.
"Your friend had the bills covered?" She asked breaking the silence.
"He did actually." he smiled sweetly as he gave her his attention.
"Tell me about yourself Danny."
"What do you want to know?"
"Anything."
"Well, there's nothing much to say about myself. I was born here, I grew up here, am the only child of my parents and we run a small business." Not wanting to go into much details, Daniel explained briefly. He wasn't about to tell her he had traveled to lot of countries for fun. And that the 'small business' his parents owned was one of the top ten in their country. Although he wanted to show off, he still wanted to know what it was like when a girl isn't aware of your wealth.
"Don't tell me that's all your going to give out. You didn't even mention your age or where you study."
"That's why I asked you what you wanted to know. Am twenty-one and am almost done with college." Daniel replied honestly. He didn't feel the need to lie about small matters like this. He only lied when necessary. He was no saint at all, but he knew to be conscious of what he said so as not to back fire later.
He was almost done with college and would soon take over his family's company. He was not the smartest among his peers but he was smart, that wasn't up for questioning. He had always grew up knowing that he would be rich whether he worked hard or not. His dad wasn't the richest in country A, but he was at least among the top fifteen. He knew once he left college he would come work at his Father's company. He didn't even have to lift a finger as he was a rich second generation heir.
His father had a lot of companies and connections so he felt like he didn't need to be polite to anybody. Why should he be when he had the looks, brain and wealth? For him he was born lucky.
