Ariel's eyes locked onto her phone, for a whole thirty seconds. Her mind racing in wonder. She never would have imagined the book she had recommended would win over a gamer like Daniel.
"Still there?" Daniel asked after not getting a response from a stunned Ariel.
"Still here Dan, am just a little bit surprise the book caught your interest. But not to brag am kind of always right." Ariel said flinging her hair with pride as if Daniel was there to see her.
"Don't get ahead of yourself Darling, it could get boring anytime."
"As if. If I may ask, what really captured your attention in the book?" Asked Ariel.
"Well, I must give it to the writer for making the first chapter really colourful. For a person like me who isn't into novels shit, this writer had captured the heart of a gamer. Anyways, you won't believe me when I say I am already in chapter nighty-six."
"No way!" Ariel exclaimed
"Trust me, I was more surprised than you are. I got so engrossed that all I did in a day was read a novel. The writer just had to make every ending so much interesting that I couldn't resist. I feel bad for Tyler though, he didn't value her when he had her and now he has to endure the torture of seeing her with another man. I know it's fiction and stuff, but I really didn't believe in karma till I read this book."
"Am glad you loved it. When your done with this one I could give you more recommendations. And yeah, you're right. Tyler deserve worst. Not because a girl likes you gives you the guts to treat her like trash, we should remember that we are made out of mud but God doesn't treat us like dirt. I just wished she realised Earlier and left him. He really didn't deserve one bit of what she did for him." Ariel said with a little bit of anger when she remembered how much Nelly suffered in the hands of Tyler.
She even went as far as sacrificing her own kidney for a man who didn't see her fit to be worthy of him.
He had loved her from the beginning. That wasn't up for doubt, but after he had won her over, made her fall hard for him, he turned into a different person.
He cheated on her, he hit her, and treated her as dirt. Even after all he did, Nelly still didn't leave him.
She had felt that the man she knew at first, who had first showered her with love was still in there somewhere. But he didn't change.
She was warned to leave but she decided to believe in her love. Later, Tyler got sick and he discovered he had kidney failure. She didn't even think twice or listen to anyone's opinion, she couldn't imagine her life without him even though he had maltreated her and went ahead to donate her kidney for him.
But he wasn't grateful, if anything he became worst after recovering and called her foolish for donating her kidney.
She had told him that all his girlfriends had left him but she had choose to stay when she could leave.
His reply back then was 'not like I would want them to donate their kidney for me, I want them to be healthy and fit on bed.' Ariel sighed when she remembered how stupid Nelly had been for love.
She had told him before she left "One day, you would look for me, you would miss me and beg me but I would be no where to be found. I would have been long gone by then."
You would think he would change after that but he didn't! She ended up getting beaten up again and after much thought she left him.
At first, Tyler didn't know her importance, he felt she was the one on the losing end because he was with one of her kidney.
But as time went by, pain and regret was the order of the day after he got duped and dumped repeatedly. He had nobody. But it was too late because Nelly was gone like she had said.
He tried all he could to get her back but apparently, she had landed a rich fiancé who went to every extend for her. Tyler watched her fiancé do everything he never did. Cherish her the way he should have cherished her but he didn't. Tyler followed her everywhere he could till her fiancé felt it was high time to 'take care' of the guy who had treated the love of his life so cruelly.
But in a way he was grateful because if it weren't for his stupidity he couldn't have been with Nelly. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to avenge.
Tyler became a mess. He would dream about Nelly and see her everywhere but she was no where. He regretted his actions dearly. That was his punishment.
He had thought she was stupid and could never fall out of love with him. Little did he know that the girl he treated so harshly would end up becoming his biggest Nemesis.
"Well, I don't believe girls as stupid as her still exist. But if they really do, I pray there end up in my hands." Daniel chuckled
"I see why you're still single." Ariel humored with a light laugh.
"No baby girl, you got it all wrong. Am still single because am waiting for you." Daniel took the opportunity to flirt.
Ariel could feel a blush crawl it's way to her cheeks. She wasn't good at taking compliments.
"I wished I could continue this call, but I can't. I have other things to do." Ariel lied as she felt the butterflies in her belly. She was falling too soon and she didn't like it.
"Other things like what? Blush in the bathroom?" Daniel laughed at an embarrassed Ariel.
"Go die in hell." Ariel cursed ending the call.
