Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

POV: Ash

Location: Northern Empire

While my mind was busy thinking, a vine came crashing on my stomach from a long distance, It was just as thick as my fist, making it hard to spot in the darkness.

The impact of the vine hitting me sent me flying upwards, almost knocking me unconscious.

I slammed against one of the towering vines. my hand shaking almost letting go of my staff.

"BOOK OF SPELLS, IRON MAIDEN," I whispered.

With nothing touching my skin, I felt the movement of sharp objects peeling my skin, creating an opening for my blood to come out. I levitated in the air with my skin opened and my blood flowing out and gathering in front of me.

It created a round orb then suddenly opened up like a snake about to swallow an egg. The blood then covered me—forming an impenetrable circle only one meter wide.

I was stuck in there levitating inside a wall of blood, my shaky hands were wrapped against my legs. I brought my legs so close to my chest as if I am a chick inside an egg.

Outside the blood walls that circle me, the loud sound of countless vines crashing against my blood resonated. Each time a vine hit my little haven, the impact wave would vibrate shaking my eardrums intensely."

Seven minutes After I retracted to my own world. Welshi appeared before me.

"Never thought you would try to hide from me," She let out a loud chuckle.

"Your mana would soon run out, that is when you die." Her firm voice reminded me of the energy leaving my body into my blood.

What do I do, she is standing only a meter from me, breaking my defenses would mean receiving a white beam at point blank.

"If you quietly release the barrier and lick my toes, I will give you an easy death," Welshi muttered to the ball of blood I was hiding in, "Or else, I would make sure I rip your limbs one after the other before I blow you head off."

I cannot afford to die, I promise Bash I would not die, yet death seemed inevitable in the situation I found myself in.

"Bash I am scared right now, I don't want to die, I want to make it to your side, to the memory barrier", I whispered to my heart.

Tears were slowly falling from my amber eyes as the stock of mana in my body began to reach its final state. I held my legs even tighter against my chest, "What would Bash do if I die." Another tear drop left my eyes."

"Your time is up, Crimson witch," Welshi said, "don't worry even if you die I will remember you, I would remember you as the fool who rebelled against me."

"BOOK OF FLAMES, BURN," a scratching voice shouted so loud that my eardrums sunk down to my brain.

"Dammit, Its Lukah" Welshi hissed.

I could hear it, the sound of roaring flames eating away at all the oxygen in the area. The blood Orb I was hiding in heated up almost cocking me to the bones.

The flames roared with an exploding sound extending for minutes.

At that time, I could not focus with all the heat cocking me alive.

I am sorry Bash, I gave up.

My blood burst like a bubble and I fell, descending at high speed, probably crashing my neck against the hard ground.

To my surprise, I fell against hard arms, they captured me with one arm holding my legs and the other my small back.

As my body levitated in the air, I saw a wide circle on the ground surface, it covers all the areas where the Vine towers once stood, and the circle was filled with burning flames, flames that were still hungry for anything physical.

Twisting my neck to look at the guy holding me, I saw dark silver hair dangling on the shoulders of the guy, his face as white as the moonlight itself.

"Sorry I was late," his soft voice said. "Tiya was worried about you, hearing complaints of large explosions in the outskirts of the village, Tiya asked me to investigate."

"Thank yo..." My body gave up and shut down, not even allowing me to say my thanks.
