Toppled by exhaustion, my legs gave way beneath me and fell to the ground with a thud. The thumping sound of footsteps revealed that Sylis was likely rushing to my side, but I couldn't see her or hear her.
In fact, my vision was fading fast and every sound around me was becoming muffled.
'It's painful.'
'My legs are burning.'
'My arms are burning.'
'The world around me is becoming hazy.'
A distant ringing noise resonated in my ears as I thought about the excruciating pain I was experiencing. It appeared that this was the aftereffect of using every ounce of Mythica in my body for just one moment.
My eyelids suddenly became extremely heavy, and my breathing slowed its pace tremendously. Even my beating heart was slowed to a snail's pace as every breath I took was followed by a sharp feeling of pain in my upper lungs.
