"One second from us to the universe is nothing, but one second from the universe to us is much more than a lifetime."
— "Where am I? Who am I? Where I go? How did I get here?"
On an immense and empty plane, a consciousness was born. Without memories and feelings, full of questions and no one to answer. There were no stimuli for Rými to evolve, only stagnation awaited him. Rými was the name he took for himself.
Rými wandered aimlessly through the vastness in front of
He wandered for a long time without noticing time passing, as there was nothing to be affected by the passing of years.
Thousands of years passed without anything new appearing on this empty plane. Without realizing it, this consciousness entered an inert state. Time passed quickly, unfortunately there was nothing he could afflict or torment.
At one point in his life, the first stimulus hit him. Surprised by this new and powerful sensation that attacked him, it was enough to awaken him from his deep sleep.
— "What is that? It's so hot and powerful. I feel a force trying to push me away." Turning towards the direction of this energy, Rými noticed a small, beautiful light coming from that place. The colors of this light varied between all possible tones, creating a beautiful spectacle for him.
Amazed by this 'vision', he tried to get closer to better appreciate this new stimulus that created new and diverse sensations and emotions in his being. Wandering towards the light, time passed without realizing it, however, Rými never managed to get closer to that light, which created new feelings such as disappointment and sadness.
In a moment, he stopped wandering and "looked" around, the void that previously existed was filled with thousands of lights and dusts of different colors. In the midst of this dust, new lights could be seen being formed and there were also places where this dust concentrated, forming concentrated spheres of dust.
Without knowing when all of this arose, consciousness began to watch these new objects emerge. More and more dots of lights appeared, and more dust concentrated.
— "There are so many new things!" he thought happily.
Time passed again and Rými observed new things being created, which he named as he thought best. There were points of light that he named stars, the dust that accumulated and revolved around the stars he named planets, and what surrounded the planets, moons.
There were others, like asteroids and comets, that had a tail that appeared as they approached the stars. He also saw stars collapse and form new objects, in which he had one that seemed to pull everything towards itself, not even letting light escape.
All these new things fascinated him for a while, until this universe 'stagnant' and nothing new emerged. The feeling of boredom came to this being. Rými didn't like this and wandered around in search of something new and especially another being that looked like Rými.
A lot of time passed, but nothing new emerged, and Rými was unhappy. He wanted to interact with other living beings, there was a lot he wanted to say and discuss, but he found no one else he could talk to.
At some point, after wandering around this lifeless universe for a long time, Rými had an idea. Since there was no one to talk to, why not create a being that could interact with Rými?
Having never done this before, he didn't know where to start, however, Rými had all the time in the universe. As time passed, Rými tried many different things, but everything failed and nothing resulted in another form of life.
— "After that, all I have left is loneliness."
As her last attempt, Rými took a small part of her consciousness and separated herself from it. Then he injected it directly into a planet. His idea was for the planet to absorb his consciousness and create life.
After doing this, he waited for a long time, but nothing happened.
— "That failed too, I think it's my destiny to be lonely"
Having nothing new to see here, Rými went into a state of hibernation, thus time passed.
Many years later, Rými woke up, still half asleep, when a sound came to his attention.
— "Hello, were you the one who created me? I feel like we're connected." A childish voice reached his perception.
He looked around for the owner of the voice, hoping to find another being like Rými, however, he saw nothing.
— "Here behind!" Turning to the voice, Rými saw the planet that injected part of his consciousness. Unlike before, the planet is green and blue, and there appears to be some kind of dome around it.
This planet underwent changes that Rými couldn't say what caused them, however, it was something new that he had never seen, and that excited him.
— "You can talk!" He said surprised. — "What is your name?" He asked next.
— "I… I don't know what this is" The small planet was confused, not knowing what to answer.
Seeing this, Rými realized that the small planet's intelligence was small and immature, but could develop in the future.
— "I'll give you a name. From now on, you will call yourself Atakai."
Consciousness talked to this little planet for a while. Seeing that her attempt to create other life was successful, Rými continued creating more sentient planets.
Time passed and Rými created several sentient planets and treated them as if they were his children. He also expanded his being to cover the entire vast universe in which he lived.
Rými also noticed that, on older planets, tiny conscious life forms were born and developed. He was happy, seeing his universe thriving with life.
Thus, he spent most of his time watching these tiny beings develop and create wonderful things. He also saw wars and pestilences that destroyed many civilizations, but most managed to survive. There were even some who tried to leave their home planet, but they achieved little and didn't get very far.
Rými divided civilizations into three types.
The first developed through technology, abandoning the planet's energy. They focused all their effort on creating machines to work for them. This development brought great improvements to their lives, however they lost the ability to manipulate the surrounding nature with the help of the planet's energy.
The second developed strongly linked to the energy of the planet, they did not have powerful machines that worked for them, however, they could manipulate their surroundings at will with certain limitations, however, a few had the power to destroy an entire civilization.
The third was a mix of the other two, they had technologies and manipulated the planet's energy, although they weren't great at both. By mixing the two, they managed to live well and survive their difficulties. These civilizations were the rarest in the universe.
Rými was happy with the development of her universe. Life prospered, and his consciousness spread everywhere. There was no danger in sight until today.
—"What is that?" Suddenly, he felt like he lost contact with one of his planets.
He quickly moved his consciousness to the place where the planet should be. Once there, he saw something that made his 'heart' hurt.
— "Etertis! What happened to you?" Rými tried to speak to the planet that was once green and full of life and was now pale and dull, its surface seemed covered with some kind of "tar" that he could not recognize. There was no response.
Time passed, and he soon lost connection with another planet, then another and another.
Rými didn't know or understand what was happening. In an attempt to find who was causing this, Rými spread her consciousness throughout the universe and searched for something.
After much searching, near where the first planets died, there was a black spot in space. It was large and growing, its body was dark and resembled the "tar" he found on the planets. As he looked, he seemed to be staring into an abyss, no matter how hard he looked, he would never see its bottom. As it seemed like an endless abyss, that was his name.
— "I found you, you bastard."
As he watched the troublemaker, a small sphere was launched toward another planet in the distance. Seeing this, Rými tried to stop it, but no matter how hard he tried, nothing he did worked.
Unable to do anything, Rými followed the sphere. He watched as it hit the planet, reaching the surface harmlessly. Rými expected a big impact, but that didn't happen.
Taking a closer look at the place where the sphere fell, he expected to see it expanding and covering the entire planet, but what he saw surprised him.
The inhabitants discovered this sphere and tried to understand what it was, but upon getting close, some became violent and attacked their companions.
— "Why are they fighting each other?" Rými was confused, so he continued to watch in hopes of understanding what was happening.
— "I see, this is a disease, it spreads across the planet through the inhabitants."
When observing the planet being consumed, Rými saw the small beings coming with curiosity towards the "tar" sphere, then some of them became 'sick', starting to attack everyone in front of them, contaminating more living beings. As more were contaminated, the more the planet was covered in "tar".
Those who were not infected defended themselves, but their efforts seemed futile. They fought with everything they had, until their planet was completely taken over by "tar".
— "How can I get rid of this evil thing?" Not wanting more planets to suffer the same fate, Rými began trying different things, unfortunately they all failed until he tried the only thing he had left.
Taking some of her life energy, Rými began injecting it into a planet that was about to be invaded. Using this method could kill Rými, but having no other options, Rými did not hesitate and would do everything possible to save life in her universe.
The planet that received this primordial energy seemed energized, all life seemed stronger and more vibrant, conscious beings were able to better manipulate the planet's energy and seemed to be enlightened with new knowledge, creating new technologies, superior to everything ever created.
When the Abyss attacked the planet, living beings managed to resist, but not win, creating a stalemate. It wasn't what Rými expected, however, this could give the other planets time to prepare for the imminent attack.
Fortunately for him, the Abyss could only attack one planet at a time. If this planet held out longer, the others could grow strong and hopefully overcome this chasm, whatever it was.
— "I won't be here to see your growth, I hope everyone can grow strong to survive this calamity."
Seeing no other solution, Rými made her decision. Taking all of his life force, he divided it into equal amounts and sent it to each planet he created. All he wanted was to see this universe grow, now he didn't know if he could ever see this vast place again.
— "Survive." It was his last word to the planets and his last wish.
On the other side of the universe, in a very distant time, Edart is waking up in a new world, without knowing what awaits him.
