Chapter 3 - Prologue: The Eyes That Stared Back

The battle decimated the world around itself as the land was dyed with blood. Various Gods, Demons, and Elditrch horrors lay lifeless across the battlefield as the war continued to rage over them.

Using his power to rule the dead, Hades mustered all the divine mana he could to keep the Eldritch god from reviving the dead.

But for every three the Eldritch god brought back, Hades only kept one dead. The power they possessed was something they truly could not understand.

The Gods and Demons fought with everything they could, they knew they needed to create a foothold to keep them back until Mimir and the Divine Beast arrived, hopefully with the answer to this war.

As the battle continued, various gods from different pantheons started to arrive as they pushed back the armies from the east and west, where in the north, calling it hell would be an understatement.

The skies crackled as Zeus called a storm upon the creatures. He was creating a line to where the foothold would be created.

Lucifer unleashed his rule over darkness as he covered the enemy's vision.

With Zeus holding the line, the other Gods and Demons pushed them back to create the foothold they were fighting for.

While it may seem an advantage was being gained, they always knew, that only one Eldritch god had made his move.

Thinking they had more time to prepare, counting on the Eldritch gods underestimating them.

The second one walked forward.

With a ghastly voice, he announced, "Oh great rulers of Elysium, denounce thy throne, or may your heads heed grounds creation."

Lifting his hand, he gripped space itself as a glaive was formed as if forged by the galaxy and given to command.

Resting the glaiver over his shoulder and bending his knees he shot forward. With a single horizontal slash, a deafening sound was created.

Pure silence.

The gods who were filled with pride that fought on the frontline stopped moving.

The only sound that one could hear, was the roars of the Gods and Demons, as the sound slowly came back into existence.

The heads of their family that were fighting on the frontline rolled off their heads, as their body fell.

Zeus boiled with rage as he saw Ares's head separate from his body. He charged at the one who took it, lightning destroying everything around him as he descended.

"Come child, witness my blade as thou begs for ascension," The Eldritch declared.

As Zeus inched closer, he pulled back his arm, pushing his strength to the max with lightning burning in his eyes.

The Eldritch god lowered his glaive and pulled his right arm down with his left hand up into a vertical slash.

As the attacks connected, an explosion went off, separating the two.

"You will beg for mercy like the beast you are" as Zeus confronted the Eldritch god. "My name is Zeus, God of Thunder, King of Olympus, you will name yourself!"

"Names hold power, child." His voice, becoming deep as the abyss," And you are not worthy to know mine."

Both took a step forward, bursting with power, as they changed at each other, creating a mark that would be left in history.

As the war waged on no ground was gained, but none was lost.

But they all knew... The Eldritch gods were toying with them. They had just returned to Elyisum, they wanted to enjoy the time that presented to themselves.

The Gods and Demons knew they needed to keep fighting, but only shock and terror ran across their faces.

Six space tears had opened behind the third Eldritch god, and six Eldritch gods had stepped out

They had finally broken through.

They have seen the destruction two of them could cause. They knew that had nothing left.

Before everyone could have time to think of what to do next, one of the new Eldritch gods stepped forward. The Gods and Demons could tell that this one was different. They couldn't sense any power from him... all they could see was a crown that rested on his head.

"You two will finish this battle, I'd like to watch a good show before we retake what was ours," the crowned Eldritch god said pointing at the two Eldritch gods who started fighting.

And thus, without a second thought, Lucifer dug into the depths of his soul, pulling out all his power.

Seeing the power surging through Lucifer, the gods quickly retreated behind him.

Dimensional Descent:

Purgatory Creation

The skies shifted and the world overturned. Lucifer had used all his power and of hell to change the world in front of him.

He had created a space where time did not flow, where laws did not exist.

"I can not trap them for long," Lucifer grunted, " For all I know, they could simply just be enjoying the new view," Lucifer said with a smirk. But only he knew how much terror ran through his eyes.

With everyone running their minds to the max to figure out a plan, a tremor could be heard from the distance.

Mimir and the Divine Beast had arrived.

"Mimir, please tell me you figured it out," Minevra said, her eyes containing a small light of hope.

"We have figured out how the primordials sent them away... but we are not able to do so," Mimir responded.

"What the fuck do you mean!" Lucifer roared, neck veins showing the struggle he was going through.

"The reason Gaia had stayed behind, was due to them using the power of Elyisum to seal them. Gaia was responsible for replenishing the power they used. While she was able to restore it, we do not have anyone to take her place. She was able to inherit the law of creation, a power whose successor has yet to arrive." Mimir said, with a sadden face.

"But, we have this," Mimir said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small orb, glowing with a gray color.

"Impossible!" The Gods said in union, "The orb was destroyed!"

"It was never destroyed," Mimir stated as he looked at the Tiamat, the strongest of the Divine beast, the great Star Dragon. "This treasure cannot be destroyed, so it was left in the hands of someone who could be trusted with it."

"What will it cost," Minerva said stepping forward.

Mimir looked at Minerva with a strong determination and said "Everything."

"Guys, I can't hold it any longer!" Lucifer roared, "It seems like the scenery got to them!"

Zeus stepped forward, "We are gods who wish to rule, but we also know the future is more important than our lives. Our legacy will continue."

All the Gods looked down, wanting to avoid this decision, but they knew it had to be done.

All the demons stepped forward as well, as they saw Lucifer using his very life force to hold them.

"I guess they are loyal," Lucifer thought to himself.

"Then, let us send them to the void," Mimir announced. "Only those who have obtained divine mana can help. We place our trust in the rest of you for the future of Elysium."

While the orb was small, it was a gateway to the void dimension. A place where all things cease to exist. A power, that if not uncontrolled, would be the end of all.

With the last of Lucifer's power leaving, the world undid itself.

The Eldritch gods all saw Mimir raising a small orb and sensed its power.

"STOP HIM AT ONCE!" Screamed the crowned Eldritch god as they all raced forward.

With a blinding glow that came with a hum that resonated with the world, a smile could be seen on the various gods and demon faces as they slowly felt their life go out.

Lucifer, his eyes going out as he used his last bit of divine mana to help.

Zeus and his family, as they too had an empty light.

The various great leaders who created their own pantheon joined them as well.

The seven dukes of hell, as they smiled, followed Lucifer to the end.

A great tear opened above the Eldritch Gods as it started to pull them in.

"THIS WILL NOT BE THE END!" The crowned Eldritch screamed, "NOTHING CAN HOLD US, NOTHING!" With a final draw, the crowned Eldrtich used his power to pull the orb into his hand, hoping it could be used to escape.

Minerva watched as the Eldritch gods got pulled in, tears falling down her cheek as the loss taken today was taking its toll.

As the space tear started to close, something caught her eye in the other hand of the crowned Eldritch god.

It was an egg.

The moment her eyes saw it, a pair of eyes showed behind. Eyes that looked into her soul.

When the tear closed up, Minevra collapsed to one knee and started throwing up blood.

"Just one look and it nearly killed me!" Minerva said to herself. "They said they left for power, but what if something else had granted that power to them?"
