Chapter 2 - Prologue: The Dead Never Die

"Those bastards definitely waited till the last second," Lucifer glared angrily at the arrival of the Nordic pantheon.

"Looks like everyone is here," Micheal said as he shifted to Lucifer, "Where exactly is your army? I have Raphael leading mine in the east."

"Hm?" Lucifer quickly shifted his eyes around the battlefield.

"Those damn bastards truly belong in hell!" Lucifer roared.

Making his hand vertically flat, he shoved it into the space to his side and slashed it up. A tear in space was created as he shoved his hand into it, pulling out an imp by its neck.

Looking up and down the Imp, he noticed it was wearing a party hat and holding onto a half-filled glass of wine.

"And what are you supposed to be celebrating?" Lucifer said as he glared at the imp, violent amounts of killing intent leaking out of him.

"T-The death of our gracious lord?" The imp stuttered out as a frozen chill went down his spine.

SNAP!

Lucifer threw the lifeless body assigned and reached into the tear to pull out another imp, whose party hat could be seen hiding behind his back. His eyes took a quick glance at the dead imp before him.

"Let's not make the same mistake as the last one and rally my army, RIGHT NOW!" Lucifer demanded as he pulled back his arm and threw the imp back into the tear as it closed.

"All done," Lucifer said happily.

Micheal could be seen with his face in his palm for what just transpired.

ROOOOAAARRRR!!

As the ground itself shook, the great behemoths charged to face the various pantheons.

Zeus took to the skies as he rained down lightning bolt after lightning bolt upon the creatures.

Odin took a strong plant forward with his left foot as he leaned his right arm back and threw gungnir across the battlefield as it pierced a behemoth one after another.

Hephaestus and Brokkr worked quickly in the backline as they set up various cannons and weapons of great destruction.

Lucifer and Miceal target the behemoth's legs, cutting them off from the body as various gods follow suit.

They were pushing the creatures back, using everything in their arsenal to keep them from advancing.

Monsters of different deformities kept rushing out of the portals, demolishing everything in sight, trying to push the gods back.

But the gods had too much power, they were fighters whose combat was honed over a time that couldn't be estimated.

When it looked like they would prevail, three horrid-looking beings started to step through the pitch-dark tears.

An ominous aura leaked across the battlefield from these beings.

The Eldritch gods had arrived.

But... not all hope was lost. Multiple space tears opened behind the gods, portals leading to the darkest parts of hell.

The seven dukes of hell had arrived, with all of hell itself following behind.

The gods retreated and stood alongside the demons as they faced the three Eldritch gods.

"Did Mimir ever say how many Eldritch gods there were?" Minerva asked Zeus with a nervous face.

"Odin," Zeus responded.

"Mimir said there were nine Eldritch gods, but it seems like only three were able to make it through so far," Odin responded as he gripped gungnir.

"Those beings, I can't see the depths of their power," Micheal said as he narrowed his eyes.

"My lord," Beelzebub, the 4th duke of hell, said to Lucifer, "We are ready to fight."

"I'm placing my bet that Azazel dies first," Mammon said as he laughed, his hands rubbing together in hopes of more joining.

"your greed will truly be the end of you, Mammon," Azazel said with fiery eyes.

"Shut up" Lucifer demanded, "We must be cautious, we don't know anything about the abilities they possess."

"Then let us die with honor," Ares retorted as he walked forward. "They can't have that many monsters left to fight for them now."

As the various leaders of Elysium prepared to engage in a long atrocious battle, one of the Eldtich gods gave a low, crackling laugh.

"Young beings will always be naive."

Summoning a staff out of thin air, it slammed the bottom of its into the ground as a dark mist shot out beneath.

All the dead creatures killed in the early confirmation slowly started to move, their body parts regenerating.

For each one they killed, for each piece ripped apart, a new monster was being made. By the time the gods and demons could realize what just happened, they were faced with a brand new army, whose number could not be counted.

The other two Eldritch gods laughed as they witnessed their newly created army.

Lucifer looked at Ares as he swung his hand across his neck and pointed at the ground, symbolizing he had plans for him afterward.

"Please, Mimir," Minerva signed.

"Make it in time."
