The snake was 9 metres long but 3 metres wide. His ability to constrict something was beyond, yet he was a venomous snake. Unlike anacondas, which are 9–11 metres long and not venomous,.
This giant snake sneakily spit his venom at Sebastian, but he jumped, saving himself from disaster.
It was a close call, and if venom had splashed over his face, he might have died. He was breathing heavily.
He took out a dagger from his thigh upholstery, ready to hunt this monster.
"You humans always rely on weapons. Always. My ancestors died because of you." He bellowed with hatred in his eyes.
"Haha! My ancestors were pure vegetarians, not meat-eaters like you.
So don't lecture me, you sh*t." Sebastian smirked as he lied about his ancestors eating habits.
Seeing his disdain, the snake angrily pounced on him.
The humongous tail that was approaching him was enough to smash his skull.
He positioned himself and swiftly cut his skin. Leaving him no choice but to fight with him.
He held the dagger tightly, then stabbed at him with determination.
Instead of hissing, Abel focused intently on his target, leaving Sabestian astounded. Despite the giant snake's mental development, he remained a reptile—and an aggressive one at that. Watching Abel's calmness, Sabestian felt a surge of energy.
Abel coiled his tail, positioning himself at a 45-degree angle, and prepared to strike again. Sabestian leaped aside just before Abel's attack could connect, the force so great that it sent vibrations through the ground.
Weighing approximately 272 kilograms (600 pounds), Sabestian was an imposing figure. His deep black eyes radiated coldness and horror, enhancing his formidable presence.
Abel grunted at him with discontent with the man's attitude. "I must say you are a toddler in duelling. No rhythm, no style, just jumping like a monkey. "
Abel didn't expect that the man was good, but it wasn't enough to beat him.
On the other hand, Sabestian had mixed feelings about this comment. He noticed the hideous bastard was bleeding, but the snake wasn't expressing his pain. Most animals fight with their instincts, but it seemed he was trained to battle.
"You are not that bad minus you hiss." Sabestien bantered him.
"Hisss~"
What he did next would put him at a disadvantage. But he had already made up his mind. He threw the dagger, the one and only weapon, which would give him an advantage.
Abel stared at him dumbfounded and showed his fang in confusion.
"I want to defeat you with my skills instead of using a weapon. If you are thinking that I am strong or overconfident, you are wrong." Sabestien showed his teeth proudly. "Being a fighter, I wanted to be fair with you. I know you are different from other reptiles. Fighting strong warriors always pumped my blood. "
"That's offensive, you know." Abel spoke in a solemn voice. "But I will not go easy on you."
Sabestian chuckled, cracking his knuckles in excitement.
These two stared into each other's eyes, each trying to assert dominance over the other. As gusts of wind swept across their faces, Abel thumped his tail on the ground.
The magus bent low, then rolled to the side, swiftly reaching into his pouch. In one fluid motion, he sprinkled a powder over the giant snake.
The powder dispersed into the air, blurring Abel's vision. As a magus, he always carried a few potions and herbs for emergencies. This was an illusionary powder containing spices like nutmeg and kava, soaked with nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
The sweet scent of powder made his head dizzy as he was sedated. The hunger and madness of blood were gone like he ate five boars.
Being alert was one of the traits that helped us cope with difficult situations. If someone lost this ability, then the other person might win easily.
Sebastian then kicked him in the wounded area and applied the chilli and salt paste that he had created himself. He didn't respond.
Magus studies different fields like the study of herbs, the study of monsters and chemistry, physics, astronomy, music, and healing magic. In some magus schools and universities, students were also taught to fight for upcoming dangers.
If someone heard this, they might feel absurd about it, but now the syllabus for Magus has changed a lot. The fantasy books which described the 20th century were different from those in the 23rd century. They were modern yet connected to their roots.
Sabestian irritated him for the entire minute until Snake calmed down. He stuck out his tongue to warn him as he distanced him.
"You humans are weird. But using nutmeg and nitrous oxide was a genius plan. Smart move," he complimented him and added. "You made it yourself? "
Sebastian nodded. The reason he invented this was to restrain Eros. But this powder is also used in hunting monsters and was also patented by him.
"I have never seen a snake so wise as you. " Sabestian grew in admiration for this snake, even though he was his enemy.
"You humans only do stereotypes. In this forest, nature is our teacher. We learnt everything from them. "
Sabestian didn't believe this sh*t.
He shook his head and focused on his second attack. Before he was doing that, Abel protruded his tongue and clenched his body tightly.
"You may be smart, but you can't defeat nature. I, myself, am nature. " His voice was cold with authority. It was like he was fighting with a mountain and lost badly.
Sabestian's body started to constrict, and he felt his bones being crushed. His heart began to race, yet he didn't regret a single moment.
Watching this, Abel was amused by human foolishness. Sabestian's defeat was inevitable because he had abandoned his dagger earlier. It was his last chance to survive, and he had failed miserably.
"Kid, in survival, there was no such thing as cheating. You are dying because you overestimate me. "
Despite being in agony, he yelled like a soldier who was betrayed by his wife. "Ahhjhh."
"For a moment, I thought you were different. But honour and pride are nothing for you. "
"This is what makes us different. I was fighting for my food, and you were for your honour. The jungle has one rule: kill or be killed. "
Sabestian felt enlightenment yet rage; how could he forget this.
Rapidly, he devoured Sabestien's body.
Abel could have used poison to immobilise him or magic to kill each cell, but he didn't. Being a fighter himself, he chose to be fair with him. He knew from the start that he couldn't defeat him, yet Abel felt enthusiastic about battling a man like him.
"Perhaps not all humans are bad. " Abel shook his head and showed his fang in sorrow. "Humans are monsters.! "
