Chapter 41 - You Better Start Explaining

Rose glanced at her mom, then lowered her eyes.

Mr. Jung turned to his wife, "You had better start explaining," he demanded.

Mrs. Jung trembled, reaching for her husband's hand, "It's like this," Mrs. Jung began, recounting the entire story of Rose witnessing Junior's girlfriend swapping the report, leading her to believe she was in a relationship with Junior and that Rose was expecting his child, and she's not.

What have you done? Do you realize you've jeopardized our relationship with Lee? Do you think he will still consider marrying you after this? If you had stayed silent, you might have been married to him by now. Daddy, please forgive me. Why should I? You made your own decisions with your mother. Fix this without involving me.

Rose's heart pounded in her chest as she listened to her father's harsh words. She felt a lump form in her throat, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"I never meant for any of this to happen," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I just wanted to back off"

Mr. Jung sighed heavily, rubbing his temples as though trying to ward off an impending headache. "back off? Sometimes, Rose, are you hearing yourself. You need to think about the consequences of your actions."

Mrs. Jung squeezed her husband's hand, her eyes filled with compassion for their daughter. "Please, let's not be too harsh on her. She's young and made a mistake. We can find a way to resolve this together."

Rose looked up, her eyes red and puffy. "What should I do now?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Mr. Jung sighing, seeing the remorse in his daughter's eyes. "First, we need to speak to Junior and explain everything is our only option now."

After back-to-back operations, my body was tired, and we had a celebration dinner in our department.

I asked Mandy to be my plus one because she was in the obstetrics/gynecology department and I was in the cardiology department.

We sat and dined; it was all good vibes, and throughout the meal, the juniors were dining upstairs. Junior was also having dinner in a separate room with a business associate, and our department was dining downstairs.

It so happened that they all descended together, and from the look of it, it seemed as if they had all dined together. I was chatting with my colleagues and happened to see all of them. They looked like a big happy family. I froze and locked eyes with Junior; he was taken aback.

While observing, Mr. Jung approached Junior, and they exchanged greetings. I got up and headed towards the bathroom, where they were standing nearby.

I acknowledged Rose and her mother, Miss Jung. Mrs. Jung and Rose were talking to Dr. Murray. She smiled at me, and I returned the gesture. Junior noticed the interaction and saw an opportunity to confront Rose and her mother. As I walked past them, Junior grabbed my wrist.
