Chapter 44 - Welcome Home Biscuit

Finally, Junior spoke, his voice steady but tinged with regret.

"I'm sorry for everything, Rain. I never meant to hurt you or mislead you. The truth is, I've been scared—scared of losing you, scared of the complications, scared of facing reality. But I need you to know that I care about you deeply."

I listened, my heart aching with a mix of emotions. "I hear you, Junior. But I need clarity. I need to know where we stand and what you truly want. I can't keep living in this uncertainty."

He took a deep breath, his eyes meeting mine with sincerity. "I want us to be together, Rain. I want to build a future with you, but I know I need to sort things out first. I promise I'll be honest with you from now on. No more secrets, no more half-truths."

His words were a balm to my wounded heart, but I needed to see actions that matched his promises. "Alright, Junior. But this is your last chance. If we're going to make this work, we need to build it on trust and honesty."

He nodded, reaching out to take my hand. "I understand, and I won't let you down."

He embraced me warmly and kissed me passionately. I was savoring the moment, realizing how much I had missed him and how I needed him to fill the void in my heart. As we pulled away, our foreheads rested against each other, and we exchanged a knowing smile. The world around us seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of us in a bubble of pure affection. The scent of his cologne mingled with the crisp evening air, creating a sensory memory I knew I would cherish forever.

"Let's never be apart like this again," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes.

Hand in hand, we walked to the elevator to the 3rd floor of his mansion.

The house is beautiful; I love it.

"I can't believe you did all this," I whispered, feeling overwhelmed by his gesture.

"Anything for you," he replied with a gentle smile, leading me down the corridor. Each room we passed seemed more magnificent than the last, each a testament to his impeccable taste and thoughtfulness.

Finally, we reached a set of double doors at the end of the hall. He paused for a moment, then pushed them open to reveal a breathtaking master suite. The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the lush gardens outside. A cozy fireplace crackled in the corner, and a plush, king-sized bed sat in the center, adorned with the finest linens.

"I wanted to create a sanctuary for us," he explained, wrapping his arms around me. "A place where we can escape from the world and just be together."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I took in the beauty of the space and the love that went into every detail. "It's perfect," I said, my voice trembling with emotion. "Thank you."

He kissed my forehead softly. "Welcome home, biscuit."
